  1. So I've been in a rental for a month while waiting to move in to our actual house (I'm moving) and, ya know they have cable and stuff hooked up. But we don't really watch TV so for some background noise we just put some music on Stingray. One song in particular has really stood out to me, a few others have of course but these guys know their stuff. They manage to be musically artistic (tempo changes, time signature changes, out-of-key notes) and make some interesting production choices (main verse has a different sound than you'd usually expect, horns and child singing at the end, bridge stays in key) that makes it stand out from the normal run of the mill pop rock song that it would otherwise be. It's also lyrically meaningful without being too overt or edgy. It's called Hollow World by Elephant Stone, check it out

  4. Very nice. Soothing and relaxing, short and sweet. The combination of the simple yet hypnotizing piano, the reverby, smoothly produced vocal chops typical of modern indie, and those reversed clips played every once in a while...... the production overall is very pleasing. The perfect sprinkle with the out of key note to give a little dissonance before resolving to the normal song afterwards near the end. Keep at it! By the way though you definitely should change your band name. There's already a rock band by the same name, and they're quite popular too: you'd probably recognize some of their songs, such as Song #2.

  9. I think that would be "In the Sun" by Michael Stipe ft. Chris Martin. sq
  10. Boomer needs to keep up with the times and realize "productive" artists who release music that much (or even once a year) are often manufactured pop artists that make garbage. I could have sworn I heard something about every single song getting a video or something..... Which means another album in a year or so????? Also "privacy" settings..... LMAO

Time to revive.... Everything in it's Right Place by Radiohead
  12. really? It's crazy just how many people I find are going through really similar things as me. It's probably just for the reason we suspect, it's kinda taboo to speak about these things out in the open and as a society we're not accepting enough of these things yet to do so either, so a lot more people have the exact same issues we have and we don't know about it for this reason probably, and speaking to a lot of you on the forum who I don't even know the names or faces of really opens my eyes to this, that even though we don't really assume there is a human being behind all these messages, there most definitely is and they have their own story, every bit as special as our own, and to recognize that is just mind blowing when you really think about the person who's behind the keyboard typing. and for this, I also would like to reach out to @arushofjacktothehead and hope that, just as I, and many other people have, fight their way through this rut and come out from it stronger than ever. you're spot on with all those things you said too dude. For the monsters though I guess I wasn't as scared of them killing me, I just felt that they'd grab me by the legs or something and I needed to put them up over a certain line when I was laying down to prevent that, probably as a way to protect myself. so I specifically reach out to you too as I'm pretty sure we both know exactly how each other feels about this! I think you're one of the people from before that I knew might have had something because I remember you saying something that somebody had to calm you down because you were in a state of panic. Can't remember where I read that but I do remember you saying something about that. I'm also so sorry to hear that @nowayme, that she was rushed to the ER, and you thought she would live and she didn't..... Very sorry for your loss.
  13. Not available for me. :( v p n t i m e I'd be interested! As @42Excapist said, probably Trouble in Town. Really interested to see that one, and how they play out what's going on in the sample in real time. Wonder why they're specifically looking for talent from NYC only though. Surely any highly populated urban area would work just as well, if they're looking for people who are specifically well-adjusted to city life and inherently know its ins and outs? I know they're looking for a specific "accent" but I'm pretty sure you don't have to be from NYC to have that accept, and there's probably many people from there who don't have that accent as well, if they're looking to do it to "save time". Just sounds a little nitpicky to me. Then again, maybe it's easier to coordinate flights from one place to another rather than switching them around if it was open to everybody around the world..... then they could just travel there, but that would be a lot more cost on the person they select that they'd either have to make up or the person would lose some of the money they're paid. Darn, yet another song leaked! I agree with your opinion though, this definitely does sound like a Wedding Album-era song based on the lyrics alone (feels so weird saying that, when we all know we're supposed to not even know about the scrapped album in the first place!) The interviewer is probably used to interviewing superficial manufactured pop acts who have an album prepared for them every year or so. Apparently that's "unproductive", maybe just in the sense that they could make more money by releasing more albums, but that more often than not leads to low quality garbage that sounds like it was smashed together very quickly. Quality over quantity - oh wait, that means we would have to give up some of our very important profit..... God forbid! Didn't bother to listen to the interview and I won't after hearing others say they asked some pretty superficial questions. Sounds like a waste of time to me, and I wouldn't expect anything more from a mainstream media outlet such as TRS either. Although then again..... Apparently as @gai and @Bauk mentioned the interview itself is still great because Chris really opened up about his childhood and some other stuff. Just sounds like the interviewer themself sounds very arrogant, which is again something I totally wouldn't have expected from TRS :joy: Wowwww what a hassle. I didn't participate in this discussion just because I wasn't a part of the club that ordered anything but now I'm glad I didn't because this sounds like such an atrocious mess. Also as a frequent Reddit user I'd like to politely remind you that you were probably trying to refer to r/Coldplay :joy: Which is why lots of people don't like them, they're plain "background" music, cause music always gotta have reeeeeel f e e l i n g and e m o t i o n every single time right? it's gotta be m o o d y n all I personally think depending on the mood I'm seeking any Coldplay album could work and stand out on its own to be listened to, I wouldn't put on most of Mylo in the background as it's extremely energetic and many parts throughout are begging to be turnt and blastd. But like most other stuff nah, I'd actually think more Oldplay records would work better in the background IMO as long as they aren't too too emotional. Not to say they're worse albums per se, because I really do like all the Coldplay records and any of these songs are definitely up to concentrated listening as well.
