Maybe......i guess they're still selling out knebworth and stuff so of course theyre still successful and i'm actually going to see them this summer! i guess i'm just disappointed coz when theyve said its the best stuff since morning glory i didnt take that to mean that the single would sound like an album track from it u know?! It would just be interesting if they tried more of a new sound coz with ppl like kaiser chiefs etc around sounding original, why would ppl want to listen to stuff that sounds like its from 10 years ago when they could actually just listen to Morning Glory?

i LOVED their first album, but wasnt so sure on the second. I've seen them a few times- the first was when they were still unknown and I was at the barrier of the gig and James winked at me and sang to me and i was thinking *i love this band they're so cool* and then a couple of times after that i saw them at V Festival he was wearing these sunglasses :cool: and looking like he was trying a bit to hard to be a rock star....and they were acting a little but like they were believing their own hype, then I wasnt so sure........ I only liked a couple of songs from the second album, but here's hoping for the third which i do think they are making as we speak!

*fingers crossed!* i would have to face my fear of flying though.......... :/

I entered! and i live in the UK- luckily my friend lives in zaragoza and we can get the bus to madrid or something. but like a £200 airfare would be totally worth it!

hehe! yeah shiver came out in '99 and yellow and the album came out 2000 :) they were only just formed in '98 i think :lol:

its a very generic oasis song- sort of oasis by numbers-....its alright but i just dont think it shows a lot of progression or anything! It just sounds a bit like they're trying to recapture what they had 10 years ago or whatever but everyone has moved on. I think that during the time of the whole oasis v blur thing that oasis WERE the better band, but in the long run Blur are so so so much better than oasis ever will be....

I read somewhere on here that Til Kingdom Come is the song about/for Apple as it were. But I dont think Chris will ever write a lot about all that stuff coz he is pretty private about it and wont talk about that stuff in interviews etc, so he's not gonna put it out there in his songs and make it all really overt so everybody can find out about his private family life! He seems like he is one of those people that frets about everything- if you listen to coldplay songs he's written lots about being scared of stuff- like dying or losing important people to him- hence a lot of the songs being about and time and space, thats why the themes are consistent in his songs, because thats what he thinks about a lot! I dont like it when everyone says their songs are the same or are boring because coldplay songs have universal themes about some of the most important things in life, that everyone can interpret and relate to, which is what makes them so great. and anyway from the songs ive heard for X+Y he IS wondering about creation and how we all got here and maybe thats a more subtle way in which Apple has affected his outlook if u wanna look into that sort of thing. I think Square One is a great song and i think that its pretty different for coldplay- a definate progression and its certainly more abstract in the way it goes off in all different musical directions, its a really big song with a big concept behind it- you cant ask for more than that!!!

early days.... it must have been 1999 or maybe 2000- i remember when i got the first album, i was still in school and my friend burned parachutes for me and we listened to it at the back of our maths class :) i didnt hear of them until after shiver came out but before yellow. i remember the first time i saw the yellow video and seeing this scruffy guy all wet on the beach and wondering to myself 'is he attractive or not?' :) i couldnt decide, but i knew there was something different about them- coz theres not many bands when u remember the first time u saw/heard them, well not for me anyway! the only other one i remember is the first time i heard Take That when i was about 9 or something :lol: hehe... anyway i first saw them live sort of early on too- during the parachutes tour in 2001

I'll try and scan it in (not that i really know what i'm doing! :) ) I remember they covered the same sorta thing in the run up to the release of arobtth and it was ace! They are an even bigger band now- prob the biggest band in the country so this time i hope it's even better :smug:
