It's sort of shocking it only requires a simple majority vote to change the California state constitution. That seems a little to easy to me. Anyway, as a gay person the biggest slap in the face is the fact California voters decided to recognize animal rights (by voting for a proposition to give chickens bigger cages) and denied basic human rights to their neighbors. Remarkable, what mob-rule does. And in the end, that's all democracy really is.

lmao Coldplay92 that was hilarious. I've had strange dreams. Once I dreamed I was in the grocery store and as I was checking out I saw Patricia Routledge (from the BBC show Keeping Up Appearances). That's just one of several dreams where I've either met or been friends with celebrities. And when I was little I had a dream where the cast of Sesame Street rang our doorbell and asked my mom if I could come with them. So I followed them down the street and we were all laughing and having fun. Then we walked to this nearby lake and they pushed me in the lake and I drowned. :P

Apparently! Oh, look, the DOW is up! Wait, nevermind, that's government spending... The DOW is down another 353 points today. But thankfully Obama is giving a press conference tomorrow where he'll detail how his new ideas (spending increases by the government) will fix this economy! Hope.

What I worry about is the "hope". The world media is elated over Obama's win. They act like he's actually going to make a difference, but all the indications are he won't be any different from any other politician. At what point do people stop placing all their hope in Republicans and Democrats to solve the world's problems? How many more wars, depressions, taxes, and empty promises before Americans wake up to the fact that they've never needed government to help them?

Nick, This is the biggest sugar-high Americans have had in a long time! I hope the subsequent crash back down to reality is enough to teach young Americans a lesson in politics... but something tells me they'll only plea for more government.

We don't have KINGS here in America. That's the whole reason we got away from the British monarchy. Thousands of Americans DIED so we would never have to worry about oppressive government again. Yet people treat this politician like he's some sort of savior, the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's horrifying to watch unfold.

They are the same! Eliminating government is the only solution. Having a limited government is a temporary fantasy, because they always grow and eventually overtake society.

I know, it's amazing. Obama's people were once enslaved in America, and now he will be the new slave master, moving money around at the point of a gun, with the adoration of millions.

Why not? Public schools teach children government propaganda. They don't get a real education that helps them in life.

Well you'd need to figure out a way to make healthcare cheaper for poor people. So you could limit lawsuits against hospitals and doctors. (Tort reform)

What would you guys do if you were elected President? On my first term I would: 1. Abolish the IRS and income tax. 2. Bring all our troops home, no matter where they are in the world. 3. End the public education system, making all schools private. 4. Peg the dollar to gold again, and abolish the Federal Reserve. 5. End all government welfare programs (which would be easy after getting rid of the IRS, because these programs couldn't be paid for). Oh yeah, and I'd have Coldplay perform at my swearing-in ceremony. And some other cool bands that don't get enough radio airtime.
