Celery. I don't know why but I hate the taste of it, the techqshture... it's just a devil food. And no nutritional value to speak of.
  2. Thanks Chris. Now i can get back to fixing the economy. These boys are already on their way:
  3. Man love? That sounds so... icky. Someone get me a watermelon flavored martini!
  4. Josh bashes me all the time and it makes me cry. I mean... I just fell down the stairs, I'm clumsy sometimes.
  5. Always regular. Always... Wal-Mart.
  6. I'm the Refresh Prince of Bell Air. Hit it. Up top. With the circle arrow. *****s.
  7. I like the creepy empty pink pants. If I saw that in the woods I'd use a flamethrower on it.
  8. Would Jew believe it: The stunning picture of a Jewish man with a shiny hat
  9. Getting kind of tiresome. Keep it in here, please.
  10. No, it's not weird when a 40 year old man interacts with teenage girls tangentially. If exclusively, then yeah. But the whole "omg a male over 20 is talking to a girl under 15, ARREST HIM!" thing is quite annoying and immature. Men are people, too.
  11. Even if you despise gay people (although I can't imagine why), this is one of those social phenomenon that you're better off simply ignoring. I'm gay and I get annoyed around some homos, because they are obnoxious and rude. Like Bruno. If you're straight, please don't let them get away with that shit. Say aloud: COULD YOU PLEASE LOWER YOUR VOICE AND CALM DOWN. YOU ARE BOTHERING ME. A lot of gay people (whether they will admit it or not) feel a need to be promiscuous and act childishly - probably as a result of growing up trying their best to fit in. So in any group of friends, you've got the nerd, the fatty, the sporty guy, and the fag. If you continue to identify someone by a certain personality trait, that will become how they identify themselves. So ignore the gayness and look at other stuff, if you want a mentally-healthy society and more depth in your relationships. Sorry if that sounds only tangentially related to the original topic, but I'm sort of beyond that political argument now. I prefer explaining economics.
  12. Yeah that's one thing that must get on the nerves of people living in other countries (I can only imagine) - this continual propaganda that Americans are the most competent, best risk-takers, the guys you want to have on your side, etc. There's nothing fundamentally special about Americans or American doctors. What's made America great is our (relative) economic freedom, which allows people to do what they enjoy and trade freely. But right now trends are reversing so that you get more freedom elsewhere. I imagine if you lifted regulations and slashed taxes in, say, Spain or the UK... suddenly (and over a period of time) Spain / the UK would become the new global center of professionals in all fields of study. And prices would fall. I actually spoke with a British woman in a grocery store the other day, while we were waiting to have our orders filled at the deli. This was before Obama's bill had passed - she was telling me that her mother's last years were spent in horrible conditions under NHS healthcare, and she warned me about the possibility of socialization here in the US. What we have now is possibly even worse than the NHS, because it doesn't get rid of the middleman (the insurance companies), and even empowers them to set rates higher for their captive customers.

  14. Sally, the government programs will be bankrupt before we are 35. We'll never see any benefits. People are supposed to save for retirement. Interest rates are supposed to be higher. There isn't supposed to be recessions, unemployment, and expensive health care. These are all consequences of government.

  16. I'm not sure I'd call this kind of love "genuine". And North Korea is the most backwoods, pobuckra country in the world. Their military isn't a marvel of modern technology. I think this is a pretty clear short term costs/ long term gains scenario. It's striking to me the Neocons haven't already jumped on this, but then again they're mostly about appeasing Israel and military welfare. Assassination is too cheap for them, they need to really gorge themselves on the taxpayer's dime.
  17. It's better than graduating from Harvard/Yale/Princeton and pretending to stress over nuanced intelligence reports Hamlet-style, only to decide to do precisely the opposite of the thing you should do - which has been American foreign policy in a nutshell since before I was born.
  18. Boys should be out destroying ants with magnifying glasses and making bows and arrows for killing small game / the neighbor's cat. Girls should be indoors playing tea party and learning cursive. Neither should be obese.
  19. I hope they finally finish off North Korea, it's horribly oppressive. It would be nice if they could just assassinate Kim and his relatives, because then the cult of personality would be destroyed.
  20. Licenses (for anything) are unnecessary. They're just a way to limit competition. Consumers are able to weed out the untrustworthy / bad businesses very quickly. They buy based on word-of-mouth and reputation.
  21. Those are actually really cool photos. I never knew insects slept between 3 and 4 am xD Sounds like me when I was in college during exams week. :P
  22. Well the individual insurance companies already have virtual monopolies in their respective states, thanks to government regulation. Look at this: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203550604574360923109310680.html So the idea of opening up competition has been floated, but never seriously considered by either the Republicans or Democrats. Wonder why? And no, I don't think the AMA will be disbanded. Like a malignant tumor, governments eventually grow to the point they destroy their host society. It's the cycle of empire, Thomas Cole immortalized it in a beautiful set of paintings. You should google it.
  23. Exactly, it was a gift to drug companies. Like the current bill is a gift to insurance companies. Wake up. Ok, even if I accept the argument that medical care will be available to everyone in the same quality it currently is (unlikely - no competition), the quantity will still be lacking. So you've got increased demand with static supply. Just like the UK system (and New Zealand, and Canada, etc.) It's very important to include wait times with cost. Because money has time value (interest), and if you are injured and can't work in the meantime, you are hemorrhaging potential income. Not to mention the pain you may be in while you wait. That's got to be against your human rights.
  24. That's actually Somalia's navy. ;) And their loot is the "tax" ships must pay to pass by. It's quite civil, you see.
