Yes, they sound great. Changing the speakers is all a matter of preference but it can improve the sound

improvisation should be able to tell you more about the effects pedals but I'd say some natural amp distortion and some subtle delay. in my place was recorded with a Gibson 335 so to get that sound you should use the middle pick up on you telecaster. for jonny's live sound he uses the neck pick up. whatever you prefer
