  1. For a time it was my favorite on Kid A. Still up there with the best, of course. :D
  2. Right, which is why I put the 60% - 40% comparison in there. I think that election, maybe the election of 1936, was the most one sided in American history... but that's still nowhere close to the 95% mentioned above. As for Reagan as a man, I wasn't alive during his presidency, but he sure was an effective speaker. "The Great Communicator" of course. I would say he was one of our best. Not "the" best, but one of them. But we digress. Go back to topic, shall we?
  3. In 1984 Ronald Reagan won 525 - 13 in electoral votes... even though the popular was ~60 - ~40...
  4. Actually Hitler didn't terrorize anyone into voting for him. He was such a charismatic leader that he was easily able to obtain the majority of the vote. Not that I'm saying what he did was right, but that's what comes when you spread democracy through parts of the world like that. Hamas also comes to mind.
  5. Actually, both of the articles are from July 16... :dozey:
  6. The second article's 15 days old, but it shows the disproportionality of the whole thing. "In all, 33 people were killed in Lebanon on Saturday, police said. That raised the Lebanese death toll in the four-day Israeli offensive to 106, mostly civilians. On the Israeli side, at least 15 have been killed, four civilians and 11 soldiers." 106 - 15... that's over 7:1.
  7. I haven't heard of any... in this conflict anyways.
  8. U2 - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of lol seeing them on 60 Minutes makes me want to listen to them a lot.
  9. Well, I know Christopher O'Riley did a piano cover of the song, but I don't know if Radiohead ever did a piano version live. I'm sure Nik would know though ;)
  10. Just because someone points out the atrocities that the Israelis are committing does not mean that they support Hezbollah. No one is right in this conflict. I don't even remember why they're fighting anymore. :dozey:
  11. http://rapidshare.de/files/27687140/Radiohead_-_True_Love_Waits__Live_.mp3.html That's the I Might Be Wrong version.
  12. Why I've never heard a bigger fallacy in my life. :\
  13. No, but you don't kill innocent children, dammit! How can this massacre sit well with you as an effort to stop Hezbollah? I'm sure none of the 37 or so who were killed had NOTHING to do with the war at all. What you do, I hate to say, is take out the fighters, not the civilians.
  14. I agree with that in part. However, Ashlee's song actually samples from Square One instead of merely being influenced by it.
  15. How isn't it terrorism? You're killing innocent Lebanese civilians (and children dammit) in hopes that you will force Hezbollah into submission. That is the very DEFINITION of terrorism. Main Entry: ter·ror·ism Pronunciation: 'ter-&r-"i-z&m Function: noun : the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion http://m-w.com/dictionary/terrorism
  16. lol this song is amazing! Where's it from? :D
  17. Wooo Idioteque. Radiohead should have definitely won that, and I'm sure they would have if the vote was public.
  18. "evenues have exceed $1bn a day" That's SICK! Absolutely disgusting. I'm so anti-Oil right now this just makes me hate these greedy pigs even more. The only bright side I see with high oil prices is that it will motivate the development of alternate sources. Well maybe, cause that's really only possible when big oil sympathizers are booted from high office. :\ I had no idea Queen Beatrix was such an influence in this industry; here I was thinking that Bush and Co. were the only ones. Haha wow, I feel slightly enlightened now.
  19. Oh man it's been forever since I've seen this thread, and I just realised I voted for the wrong choice way back when. >_< I have absolutely no doubt that the government probably could have done this to us if they wanted to. As for whether they did or not, I won't jump to conclusions so all possibilities are open and on the table.
  20. Both were recorded at the same time, so it's not really a redo; more like twins... but one's really messed up. lol I agree on order. Packt is an excellent opener, Like Spinning Plates & Glass House are excellent finishers. The middle is great, aside from those tracks I mentioned before. So many good songs, and it's not a "you must listen to the whole thing to understand it" album like Kid A, more like "check out this song, you'll like it." :)
  21. It sounds live in the fact that the vocals are rough and echoey, but there's no crowd noise at all... nice find.
