Performing "Fly On" AMA
Congrats man! This is my favorite Coldplay song to play on the piano, other than Politik and Clocks, and I was so jealous to see you got to play it with Chris. Dude don't even worry about the mistakes, they weren't even that noticeable. I'm just curious, what was the delay like? Could you hear yourself play, or did you have to go based on the PA?

Coldplay to debut new song for Estamos Unidos Mexicanos concert
"Let the hummingbirds hum... we're all born equal under the same sun Someone could be you and you could be someone So do to each other as you would be done" Come on Chris, you're better than that lol. Makes me cringe. Sounds like a poem I would write in 4th grade.

Coldplay to debut new song for Estamos Unidos Mexicanos concert
Overall, the song seems alright. As with most Coldplay songs, it takes a few listens for it to grow on me. I think Jonny shines through again more than the rest of the crew, as he has on several the latest songs (he is the only redeeming quality on SJLT) . I really like Guy's bass line as well, and Will's part is good, it feels very similar to his drums on AHFOD. The thing that really ruins this song for me is Chris' lyrics. As someone said above, I'm all for the message of the song, it just comes across as really cheesy. Hopefully there is a studio version, because it has potential. It has the vibe of being the 2018 World Cup theme song. It's just that the lyrics are really really weak IMO. I think the Wa-oh's are catchy though.

A Head Full of Dreams Film - In Cinemas Nov.14
And if they have a CD+DVD, I hope they don't cut out songs from the DVD. I hate how The Scientist, Daylight, Life is for Living, etc. were not on the 2003 CD. I guess they could only fit so much on the CD... but Daylight and LIFL were so good live.

You're not alone. I can't get into AHFOD whatsoever. Bought the album (only because I will always buy Coldplay's albums), have listened through it a dozen times, but simply cannot get into it. Doesn't have the same emotion to it. The one song from it I really like is the title track. The rest are really just, average. Not bad, but not noteworthy. X Marks the Spot and Fun are really, really mediocre releases. Up and Up and Everglow are pleasant, but still kind of just, meh. I don't know why they didn't include Miracles on the standard version of the album, it would've been maybe the best song on the album! It's been a downward trajectory since after Mylo Xyloto, IMO. And the low critical acclaim (minus Pitchfork because, well, f*** Pitchfork and their snobby ass) and lack of awards show that. Ghost Stories was superior to AHFOD, but it still could have been a lot better. GS could've been a lot better with a more alt. rock feel to it. The emotion is there, and I like the intimacy of it that they were clearly aiming for, but it still feels like something is missing. I truly don't see Coldplay making an album that doesn't include a pop/synth sound. It's really too bad, because they've proven they can hit the mainstream crowd without making songs with Beyonce, or the Chainsmokers, or Avicii, or Rihanna. Nothing against those artists, but I hate how the songs Coldplay are now known for are associated with them. But I have faith they will still mix in their classic alternative sound here and there.

All I Can Think About Is You
It definitely sounds like a B-side. The piano from Chris almost sounds like one of those demo songs that play on an electric keyboard. Not necessarily a bad thing, just very standard sounding. But if this is a sign of the kind of music to come for the band, hallelujah. I'm getting the vibe of Ghost Story, High Speed, Atlas and then into Viva stuff (like Death and All his Friends) with some excellent X&Y-ish guitar work from Jonny boy. Really hoping they make more music like this, not middle-of-the-road AHFOD and Chainsmokers garbage. I like this kind of old school Coldplay vibe with a new flavor. Excellent work especially from Jonny and Guy on this song.
