  1. I know that Brady is a huge fan of Coldplay and has attended multiple concerts. I went to the concert at Gillette Stadium (where the Patriots play) and Chris shouted out Brady. As for Guy, he and Brady are both good looking famous dudes who are into Aston Martins
  2. Gwyneth recently did an interview with Dax Shepard where she told an awesome story- She said her and Chris were eating dinner one night after the kids were put to bed. Suddenly Chris had a weird look in his eye and said "I've got to go to the piano". Approximately 4 minutes later, Chris had completely written Paradise. Absolutely insane. We don't deserve this man.
  3. That would be a really unfortunate mistake but would also explain everything pretty well
  4. I don't think so, honestly. If it was 2017, we already knew pretty early on in the year how Kaleidoscope EP was going to be released and how many songs were on it. Wasn't it even November 2016 that Chris mentioned the EP at London Palladium? And they even mentioned it would be 5 tracks and they were almost done with it in early 2017 in an interview. It really sounds like they are talking about some future album, especially when Chris says something like "Did we make one deluxe album or a standard slightly worse one". Also, Chris at the very end makes it sound like they are discussing something that would happen in the distant future/us viewers wouldn't know about until the distant future. My first bet would be they were talking about the live album CD/DVD combo (that they had been discussing during the tour and released over a year after that meeting). If it's not that, my second bet would be it's some project we don't know about that they were in the very early stages of talking about. Especially since it appears to be placed at the very end of a bonus segment of the documentary to make us curious.
  5. Let's remember that it's not likely that Will and Jonny would be spotted in LA. It's not like they are prominent figures in Los Angeles nor is there a strong contingent of us Coldplay fans in LA who would recognize them in public. I would be willing to bet that Will and Jonny were out in LA as well when Guy was there (assuming he was recording with Chris, which is most certainly the reason Guy would be in Malibu). I'm guessing they will continue to bounce back and forth between LA, London and recording separately. But if Guy is out recording in Malibu with Chris, then that must mean the whole gang is there.
  6. I really preferred the older Lady Gaga style, not so much the newer stuff. Except Shallow is an excellent song. But I can see how you can find her voice annoying. But she has an incredible voice and would be an interesting collaboration with Coldplay. Maybe something along the lines of the style of Shallow would be interesting with Coldplay.
  7. There's a video of him talking to Coldplay backstage at the 2008 Grammy's, if I remember correctly. Same with Neil Diamond.
  8. OH add Post Malone to the list!
  9. Collabs work best seemingly when it's two different artists bringing something slightly different to the table. I think that's why Coldplay pick a lot of female singers, because it complements Chris' voice. Or someone like Noel Gallagher who brings a certain style of guitar that doesn't exist in the band. Or Jay-Z who is a completely different style from the band. That's why I don't think they would ever collab with a Keane or OneRepublic because they are quite similar. With that said, here are some collabs I would love to see (but I agree with @I ran away, the best Coldplay songs are the ones with just the band) -John Mayer- would love to see him have a guitar solo on a Coldplay song. Will has previously admired John Mayer, if I remember correctly. -Kanye West- A real creative/pop mastermind, plus Chris has collaborated in the past on one of Kanye's albums. -Eddie Vedder- Chris and him have previously performed together and are both associated with Global Citizen. I think they would be an awesome collab. -Lady Gaga- Wouldn't that be something? She is immensely talented and brings something different to the table. -Tame Impala- Chalk this up to almost 0% chance of happening but it would fulfill my dream of true psychedelic Coldplay -Paul McCartney- He's shown his respects to Coldplay in the past and him and Chris would be a bundle of creative energy in the studio. -Zac Brown Band- Not a big country fan, but I like them and they are more mainstream. Would be very cool and unique -Rex Orange County- a little lesser known but he is awesome and would make for a great Coldplay collab
  10. I don't think this is something radically new though. The 4 of them have always been quite different as people and interests. They all seemingly have an eclectic taste in music (From Beatles to Rihanna to Kate Bush to Kraftwerk to My Bloody Valentine to Guy's interest in repetitive funk bass lines and on and on), which leads to their genre-less music. They kind of dabble in everything, and that's what makes Coldplay work. And that's why their body of musical work is so immense and great and different, because they all have different tastes yet they all have to agree on a song for it to see the light of day.
  11. I think LP8 will be heavily influenced by international sounds and dream pop-Chris lately has been heavily influenced lately by music well beyond the scope of the UK and US. He clearly has been listening to a lot of music from Africa and various parts of Europe. Also, conspiracy theory- Chris was only half joking by his "enough tweeting for one month" comment. Perhaps he and/or the band will be hard at work over the next month, or, something will develop on the Coldplay front in one month. :eyes: I'm also bored and grasping at straws because I'm desperate for something from the band.
  12. Coldplay's Storytellers from the X&Y era is on MTV in the USA right now! Haven't seen it on TV before now.
  13. It doesn't have to do with Chris' birthday party, because Guy's instagram was him touching down in LA yesterday. It's very possible Will and Jonny are there too, but only one band member has an instagram ;). Surely, if the studio they used truly burned down, they will easily record elsewhere in LA for Chris' convenience (like his house or the billion other studios in LA). They are Coldplay, not some startup high school band with no budget :joy: I'm guessing they will continue to split time in LA and The Bakery.
  14. GUY IS IN MALIBU THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT, GUY IS IN MALIBU
  15. That's a good point. Yeah, Coldplay sampled the Jon Hopkins instrumental for LiT and The Escapist.
  16. I don't think so. I think Talk is the only one that kind of fits that category, as they borrowed a melody from Kraftwerk and wrote an original song over it. But not a full-fledged song (like when they gave Embrace the song Gravity). Unless you want to talk about Viva La Vida and Joe Satriani, but I'd rather not go down that road
  17. Sometimes time off and time away from people you have been with intensively for 20 years revitalizes relationships. In this case, revitalizes their creative energy and desire to make music together. Chris is doing his own thing, Guy is off doing his own things, Will, Jonny and Phil are presumably spending time with family. All is good. Let's not forget they really haven't had an extended break for 20 years, and they are off the back of their biggest tour ever. I know it's hard. I desperately want Coldplay to come back every day. I have not experienced the hype before an LP yet as a superfan (I jumped in right after AHFOD released). But all we can do right now is be patient. I have faith they will be back to work at some point this year and release something by the end of next year.
  18. Yellow vs Yellow (Live in Buenos Aires)
  19. I love Birds as well! I'm not a big fan of AHFOD, but Birds is a top 20 Coldplay song, imo.
  20. When you Google Maroon 5 and they are lumped into the same category as Coldplay :pensive:
  21. Fun idea! 1. I really liked Alessia Cara's voice and style, but I think her music is starting to wear on me (since it's everywhere) I think P!nk is great. Also that woman from Grouplove. 2. Had to look up what came out in 1991, lol, but- Blood Sugar Sex Magik- Chili Peppers Loveless- My Bloody Valentine is also excellent 3. Parsonsfield 4. Daylight 5. Kanye West
  22. I really think the backlash of Coldplay in the mid-2000s and general hate for the band has completely changed his outlook on the band and life in general. He's very, very genuinely appreciative of fans, has trained himself to not be bothered by hate, and is very self-deprecating. All ways to cope with widespread anti-Coldplay.
  23. Leave it to Guy to go against the grain from the rest of the band.
  24. Counterpoint- Chris Martin is god and can handle that situation however he sees fit.
  25. I would think we get an album by end of 2020 at the latest, then touring starts 2021. But surely they do some concerts, like festivals or something, before the supposed 2021 touring projection.
