  1. Now you can go explore other fantastic books :D If you haven't already read them, these are all really ace. Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials trilogy Christopher Paolini - Ineritance series Lian Hearn - Tales of the Otori trilogy Mary Hoffmann - Stravaganza trilogy Garth Nix - Sabriel, Lirael & Abhorsen Cornelia Funke - Inkheart trilogy
  2. Lian Hearn - The Harsh Cry Of The Heron. Its a sequel set quite a few years after the end of The Tales Of The Otori trilogy. So far, its living up to the trilogy. I love these books, they're a historical fiction which seem to be set in a medieval China.
  3. my sister made me laugh, you can tell she's a psychologist. her reason's for not liking the epilogue was that it was too much happy family and there was no evidence of the psychological scars they would have suffered both from the events of the series & also that last battle.
  4. and just don't think it fits. it felt like a half-hearted add-on to try & stop people cashing in when the copyright's up
  5. Finished!!! Was very good, pulled all the strands together nicely. Even if she disproved one of my theories, the other one worked out fine. However, there was absolutely no need for the sappy last chapter. She should have finished at page 600.
  6. are you volunteering to remove spoilers? coz I'm going into hiding til I've read it :P
  7. yup, coz being a pop star you have time to support every single issue in this world  the media really are dumb sometimes
  8. there must be more than one way of out andover :o if the people dressed up is your only worry, you should be fine. its the kids who haven't been to bed and who have been fed pop & sweets all evening that would be worrying me!!!!
  9. they did it because it saved them costs. not so many people took bags so saved them a fortune in buying the things, and i would guess that buying carrier bags in bulk would cost you less than 10p a bag so they would also be making a profit on them. I've been hiding out at work. can't come on here during the day/week as too many peeps wandering around. weekends are a different matter though
  10. I just ordered my sister's birthday present 5 months early to get the free postage :D Having worked the last 2 midnight releases, I shall quite happily miss this one. Never understood how people got so worked up about it. there were people crying as we were wheeling a pallet full of boxes onto the shopfloor. those two nights will quite easily go down with some of the weirdest of my life
  11. kwik save always used to charge 10p a bag and that was over 10 years ago
  12. interesting thinking. another school of thought thinks that imaginary friends are actually spirits, because children are susceptible to that sort of thing. in which case, its not a fertile imagination because they are actually seeing the friend
  13. think is was kwik save last time who offered it for £6.99 on the first day until they ran out of stock. mine's coming with the postman from amazon, who have promised to price-match up until dispatch. completely unrelated, I've added a spoilers warning to the title ready for sat am. but please use the spoilers tags if you do put any in here. i don't want the plot ruining in the course of moderating please :) i've caved in and bought the hb so as not to have it ruined
  14. Ocean's 13 - 9/10 POTC3 - 8/10
  15. Dangerous question then, but what would you class me as? Seeing as though I joined Oct 2002 & am just over 3000 posts???
  16. yup, quite a few people do come in here
  17. dare you :sneaky:
  18. yup people get banned, but not very often. it takes alot to push Busybeeburns that far. as far as admins & mods go, there are 3 admins consisting of myself, ian & Stephen. Ian is the bossman, Stephen is the tech genius, & I am forum babysitter & occasional content adder. Mods wise, you'll notice they cover most timezones between them, so there's always someone around to keep an eye on things.
  19. you don't need to iron your knickers to get them crumple free. its all in the way you dry them, and the softener you use
  20. i don't iron anything if i can help doing so, but i believe the answer to your question would be yes
  21. i don't think any of your threads have made it that far. you're still on public view!!
  22. oh the irony :laugh3:
  23. think this will be more at home in Entertainment and Arts, so i moved it. i've never read any of the blake poems in this collection. i believe its on alot of exam reading lists now though?
  24. one of the rumours i've seen is that he dies in the 2009 series but then one of the rumours also said that either sayid/kate/jack/locke would be dead by the end of this series
  25. chain of evidence. if you limit who has access to what, then you can keep your secrets. you make it blatantly obvious that if a certain storyline leaks you know which few people could have done it. plus, the point with the Harry Potter thing was that any media body which released the info into the public domain was going to get hugly penalised too. once you cut out the people offering vasts sums of money for the spoilers, it becomes almost pointless for your 'anonymous' person to leak stuff. the whole kate/jack bit at the end of the finale stayed secret because only kate/jack, the few crew members needed to film, & the writers knew it was happening. if you've limited access, its lots easier to narrow down who your culprit is.
