FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010
Part 2 (Mummy will take over the narrative as Sammy was happily chasing the cat & playing the piano, blissfully unware of the boat trip) I was in a rush because I had to be at the river by 5pm. I had been due to get a train at 4:16pm but Auntie’s husband had said there was a better route with a quicker train. He took me to the train station at Twickenham where I was able to get the 4:11pm train which only stopped twice. I was getting very excited by this point. I now stood a very good chance of being at the boat way before 5:30pm and therefore making it onto the boat with the other Coldplayers! The train arrived at Waterloo station at approx 4:40pm and I rushed through to the ticket machines, bought a tube ticket and raced to the tube platform. A tube arrived almost immediately and I got on. Once I got off at London Bridge, I rushed through the station and outside. As I walked down the street, I rang Ian to find out where he was. They had just left the pub and were on the way to the boat. I walked very quickly towards Tower Bridge & the river. I had to walk along a cobbled street and got concerned that I wasn’t going to find the boat. Just as I thought this, I passed an archway and there was a passage through to the river and I could see the boat. As I walked onto the walkway, I saw Mich and ran down the gangway towards her. I was very, very excited – I had made it to the boat! Mission accomplished! After hugs from Mich, Kel, Min, Chavi, Anna, Angie, Lori, Nancy & I forget who else, I said hello to Ian! Someone mentioned that cameras & mobile phones were being confiscated. This got me on 2 levels – oooooh exciting! Something exciting must be happening! And OMG! They can’t have my phone what if something happens to Sam. I have to say at this point that it’s the first time Ian and I have been out together since Sam was born and the longest we were going to have left him. Plus he was with someone he didn’t know very well in a strange place. (Needn’t have worried! Why would he be bothered when he had 5 people to lavish him with attention as well as a piano, a cat and a tv!!!) We got on the boat and I had a chat with Debs. She was very lovely and didn’t look at me as if I were a lunatic when I asked her if she could possibly keep my phone in her pocket instead of in the box. Electronic devices safely handed in and tickets stowed away safely, I wandered onto the boat. First person I remember seeing was Chelsea :) I think I also spoke to Craig, Mark and some other people too. The boat started moving and we were asked to sit down so I joined a table near the back.

Sammys Road Trip – A tale of motorways, tube trains & boats Part 1 Once upon a time there was a little boy who went by the name of Sammy. One morning his Mummy & Daddy woke him up very early, long before his usual breakfast time. They told him they were going on an adventure to London, the capital city. Sammy had no idea what Mummy & Daddy were talking about but as they had prepared him a bowl of porridge he was quite happy. Mummy & Daddy got Sammy dressed in his linen trousers, tigger t-shirt and stripy cardigan, strapped him into his car seat and off they went. Sammy got bored of being in the car so went to sleep. He woke up when the car stopped. Mummy got him out of the car to take a break from his seat. It was very, very cold and Sammy looked sad. After a few rounds of “brrrrrrr! Brrrrrr!” from Mummy, he was giggling away. Mummy & Daddy set off again and Sammy was very happy that they chose the M6 toll road because it was very fast and there weren’t many cars in the way. He was a little worried after passing through the toll booth because Mummy wasn’t happy with the coach pulling off to her left. The car picked up speed with no incident and Sammy went back to singing and kicking his feet against the seat. After another little while he heard Mummy getting panicky. Apparently, they’d missed the next services and mummy was now having to join the M25 which was making her nervous. It wasn’t so bad though and they soon joined the road heading for Sunbury. As they were a little earlier than planned, Mummy & Daddy decided to stop at the supermarket for a break and for some lunch. Sammy very much enjoyed his picnic sat in the front seat. It was great fun smearing tomato puree from his sandwiches onto the steering wheel of the car. Mummy was just praying that the tomato puree would stay away from her dress as she had worn it since first thing and there would be no time to change later. Once Sammy finished his sandwich, Mummy & Daddy set off again to find Auntie’s house. Sammy would be spending the evening there whilst Mummy & Daddy went out. Sammy wasn’t sure why they were going out but it was something to do with a boat on a river, Coldplay and some people who were going to answer questions. After a bit of trouble, Auntie’s house was reached. Daddy left Mummy & Sammy so he could go and catch the train into London because he needed to be there quicker than Mummy to sort out some people called Coldplayers who were also going to be on the boat. Sammy took the opportunity to occupy the front passenger seat and have some milk. Once Auntie came home, Mummy and Sammy went inside. Sammy was very excited to see the cat flap and kept pushing it open to see outside. His hands got very cold. Then he saw the cat! He was a little wary at first but soon started crawling up to the cat. The cat was a little unsure about Sammy and kept running off. Sammy thought this was a great game and giggled to himself as he followed the cat. Mummy unloaded Sammy’s bags from the car and set up his cot. Sammy didn’t notice because he had now discovered the tv and was busily changing channels. Once Mummy was ready to go, Sammy didn’t really notice as he had the Wii control and was swinging it round.
