If I'm cold its not going to be from lack of layers  think War Child and then drop the temperature a bit because its night time on the river

  13. the soundtrack in my head this morning is two lines over and over again  "Picture yourself in a boat on a river, With tangerine trees and marmalade skies" which perfectly sums up how surreal the whole thing feels. As for Thanksgiving, a quick google search shows Gwyneth spent Thanksgiving in Mexico last year because Moses and Apple were in school. Thanksgiving this year is a Thursday which is also a school day  Coldplay surprises are always good surprises, so whatever it is, the lucky Coldplayers will have an ace time. the flies on the coldplaying wall must be having great fun with this thread :laugh3:
  14. if you could ask Phil your questions, then surely it will be more productive than a seminar!
  15. Nobody has asked the important question yet: What on earth do you wear on a boat on the Thames in the middle of November when you're meeting Roadie 42 & all his friends?
  16. nooooooooooooooooooo :( is there any chance you could elongate your stay in London if you were lucky?
  17. interesting! wonder if anyone will succeed?
  18. Jay-Z Decoded book reveals the life behind the lyrics Jay-Z says his debut book Decoded, released in the UK this week, is a book of many layers. Instead of writing a regular autobiography, the rapper explains the meaning behind his lyrics as a way to tell the tale of his rise to megastar. The book also features plenty of photos and private thoughts on his career so far. He said: "It's a bit of memoirs versus breakdown of lyrics, versus socio-economics. It's all these layers. "I used stories of things that I went through growing up to lead to these songs." 'Rap is poetry' The star, reportedly worth about worth £280m, has plenty of experiences to talk about, from being abandoned by his father, to becoming a drug dealer and surviving an attempt on his life. He admitted that one of the biggest challenges was actually remembering the lyrics. Many are years old and the star didn't write them down. He says the process of decoding some of his old lines was a strange experience, but good fun. The rapper's also imprinted his unique style on the book's marketing campaign. All 305 pages were hidden, in a scavenger hunt style, around 200 locations important to his life story. The person who eventually pieces together all the clues will get entry to every Jay-Z show on earth for the rest of their lives. The 40-year-old, who's recently been in the UK recording an album with Kanye West, also says he wants his book to reveal the beauty of hip hop. Decoded goes on sale in the UK on 18 November. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11769157
  19. A translation error at a UK prison labelled an exercise yard as an "execution yard" in the draft of an information booklet for Russian inmates. An inspection report mentioned the faux pas at Lincoln Prison in a section on foreign prisoners. The translation was spotted by a member of staff at the proof stage, the Ministry of Justice said. The report said all translated material "should be verified." 'Not funny' No other translation errors were noted in the report. Nick Hardwick, chief inspector of prisons, said: "This is an example where actually making sure prisoners have properly translated material is important. "You could treat it as a bit of a joke unless you were that prisoner and you didn't understand how the British prison service worked and came from a country that still had execution yards. It wouldn't be a funny thing for him." The report praised the prison for having a better range of translated information for the 82 foreign national prisoners, but said staff had raised concerns that some translations were not "entirely accurate". Mr Hardwick said the Victorian jail, which was hit by riots in 2002, was making slow progress. Inspectors were also concerned about the poor physical condition of the prison, litter and graffiti. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-11774367
  20. when you say a gathering of more than 4 persons is that just for political things, or would you need a permit to hold a birthday party?
  21. that doesn't work either. anyone who only wanted 1 ticket would end up with 2 and no way to ensure someone else could use the second one. not everyone visits places like here to be abole to find someone who could use the ticket. at the end of the day for a small gig like this one there are going to be a few lucky people who get tickets and many, many more who don't. there's never going to be a fair way that pleases everyone.
  22. didn't try. didn't think Ian would really want to go. and wasn't able to spend the time trying coz I was with Sam. plus i need to keep my baby-sitting favours for the next coldplay tour

not sure I understand you. what exactly is your point? I've entered him in an online modelling competition which requires a public vote on the internet. so I've politely asked people to vote for him, in an off-topic part of the forum. I'm not repeatedly bumping the thread and I'm not spamming it everywhere. Those people who wish to vote will, those people who don't want to won't. what's there to congratulate? if he was successful he'll benefit from Next vouchers so I can clothe him without spending a fortune, and as a sideline he will appear in the Next catalogue which I can keep to show him when he's older.
