I used to love Coldplay but now I don't
I think the thing with Radiohead is that they write music like magic eye pictures. If you've never seen a magic eye picture before, it's just going to look like a bunch of gobbledygook- colourful, repeating, chopped up images that aren't very impressive. If you realize that you need to learn how to look at it in a completely different way, you're rewarded with an incredible amount of depth in a way that you wouldn't have expected. The same thing happens with their music- you need to listen to it a few times with an open mind before it 'pops' and transforms into something else. Of course it's an aquired taste; something with that complexity couldn't possibly be appreciated on the first listen. And I think that's why so many people move from Coldplay to Radiohead. Coldplay found a way to let people hear the end product of a Radiohead-style song without going through all the effort. It's easier to see a magic eye picture when you know what you're looking for. And Briggins- I still want to know what you think of my idea- don't know if you saw it back there or not.

Have you ever been Rick rolled?
But everyone writes in English... no matter where they're from. :laugh3: Well, there is Malajube, but I can't understand Quebec french. Yeah, the uni has so many exams to fit into so many different schedules that the only way to get them all done before Christmas is to have some of them on the weekends. And since classes have ended, it's not so bad, just... weird. I had a couple of Saturday exams last year. :\

Dude! What the hooey are you doing up this late with an exam tomorrow?

Have you ever been Rick rolled?
You know, I'm constantly in a state of awe around here at all the different people with near perfect English skills. Even many native speakers can't pull that off. I wish I had a second language like that. (The french never stuck. :()

Briggins presents his top 25 albums of 2007 in hopes of influencing your vote
Yeah, I suppose the writing part would put a damper on things... just make sure you get your list turned in for the countdown in time...

Albums of the Year: 2007 - Now Closed.
^added, and added. Well that's the problem with making an international list- there can be so many different release dates for one album internationally that we just have to go with the original one. If it's any consolation, it came in at #50 on last year's list, and their fan base was much smaller back then. Nothing like a good sleeper hit. ;)

You know, at the rate you're going, you might actually finish by sometime in January. :P

Fattest baby in the world??
That's certainly what it sounds like. I have a feeling there's some sort of an underlying medical issue here. This isn't at all a normal sort of thing for a baby. They do get chubby at about that age, and then loose it when they start walking. But nothing like that. A stone is about 14 pounds, right?

Why are men so annoying??? (please enter and acknowledge)
Why are men so annoying? Because you're a girl. End of. Sorry, but you'll just have to deal with it for the rest of your life just like every other girl in the universe.

Have you ever been Rick rolled?
You know guys, there is a very simple way to avoid it: put your cursor over the link without clicking on it. The actual destination of the link will be displayed in the lower left-hand corner of your browser. Very useful, obvious, and easy if you suspect something.

Have you ever been Rick rolled?
I feel sorry for the poor guy singing in the video... time may have forgotten the embarassing cheese, but now it's an internet joke.

Have you ever been Rick rolled?
Now that one's brilliant! Someone on atease must have been really bored.
-
Have you ever been Rick rolled?
:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: Seriously. :freak: But yeah, if you try to close the window when it stops moving and then click ok really fast about a hundred times it will close... after it's gone through all the lyrics.

Coldplay are Horrible!!!
Yeah, people. Many people. It just doesn't take much marketing to turn many people into all people, as X&Y showed...
-
Have you ever been Rick rolled?
 See, normally people who spend time on atease learn pretty fast to check where links go before clicking. :P :laugh3: Hey, offtopic, but did you see the new video Radiohead put together for Bodysnatchers? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D378rWZwss

Most of them at various times. ...Sometimes two or three at once, but that's just my brain not the songs' fault.

Coldplay are Horrible!!!
:stunned: Wow... maybe you need to take a nice deep breath, and go listen to Parachutes or something... If they didn't take time out of the spotlight, everyone would be sick of them, and that would be sad.

I've had various songs of theirs bouncing around in my head for days now, and it's all your fault, Briggins :P

Albums of the Year: 2007 - Now Closed.
Yeah, I was always planning on doing something like this when December started. Just took a bit of time to figure out what. Having a looming dealine helps too. But thanks so much for all the support. :D Just did another bit of compiling, and we have at least 175 unique albums on the master list. edit: Ooh, just realised this was on the front page! THANKS IAN!!! :nice:
