I haven't really given the new single or album much thought; the fact both will be with us in a matter of weeks hasn't really sunk in... I remember desperately downloading the bootleg KCRW concert mp3s just before X&Y was released and thinking 'oh my god'... the first time i heard Square One, even though it was terrible audio quality, I almost imploded... amazing, this time however I will wait until I hear it officially! The first time I hear the new album will be when I've bought the CD... no cheeky downloads or bootleg gigs for me...

I have a feeling Violet Hill will premiered on BBC Radio One as with Speed Of Sound in 2005...

I have just read the review of VLVODAAHF; it sounds FUCKING AMAZING. Seems that they ahve really broken away from the old format, not that there was anything wrong with it - but still good to hear them progress anyways.

I agree, the hype is good. However, too much hype is bad. It makes people think crazy things, like 'Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends'.

I understand. However giving this album the title 'Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends' does not make any sense. This thread is insane and has spun completely out of control. Prospekt has once again suceeded in baiting the entire forum.

You have all gone mad. Prospekt is using the quotation marks to highlight the two possible album titles, the 'OR' is the divide. If he didn't use the quotation marks it would give us the album title 'Viva La Vida or Death and all his friends we're finalising the tracklisting today' - which imo is an awesome album title. I digress. This is ridiculous. Given that 'Death and all his friends' is already a track title and 'Viva La Vida' is not, it HAS to be one or the other. Not both. Seriously, some of you shoudl lay off the shrooms.

Just a quick thought... The new website designs with the 'paint' theme makes sense, given that the album title is partly dedicated to the female artist Chris Martin spoke of. However, there were links to 'Famous New Painters' on each preview... was that a red herring?

I am going to take some time to think about all of this. Perhaps the album artwork and music will be enough to distract me from the 'bubblegum pop band' title. Sorry, only way I can describe it at the moment.

I have a bad feeling about this. If the first three albums were considered a trilogy by the band I am wondering just how far they have taken their sound, not too far I hope. Never have three words sparked so much doubt in my mind.

I haven't logged in and posted in a while, but needed to comment on the title of Coldplay's 4th studio album. My comment is: WHAT A PILE OF SHIT. I am truly gutted. Famous Old Painters would have been awesome.

Hey dudes Sorry if this has already been brought up into discussion... I did search around for 3.5 seconds but couldnt fine anything. Have you had a thought about the new Christmas Message, and what Jonny might actually be saying. He says something like (cant quite remember) 'i predict railways will be big in the future'. Think of this as if he were talking about the title of a song, or perhaps... the title of one of their NEW SONGS :) I dont know, just something I thought of... but hey, they could just be taking the piss :D <--- more likely
