Wow...
I just wanted to post my appreciation for 'Postcards From Far Away'. Even though it is quite a short piece of music it is by far my favourite piece on Prospekt's March, or perhaps out of all of the new material I have heard since the release of AROBTTH. It reminds me of the track 'Parachutes'. Short but sweet. It also has a 'Bucket For A Crown' vibe to it, which I think can still be found on YouTube. I like that, even though Coldplay have taken the commercial path with their music, they're still able to create something as deep and as beautiful as this. If you get what I mean. It was completely unexpected.

The Official Opinions about the new album thread
VLVODAAHF is an amazing album. It is a strange experience though. At times I completely forgot I was listening to Coldplay; but every now and then their 'sound' can be heard. It does not fit with the first three albums; the break from routine is evident. Although I love the first three albums, with AROBTTH being what I consider to be the greatest album of all time, I cannot help but feel their time has past. Coldplay have truly moved on. 42 is an outstanding track, possibly the best track on the new album. Yes, Lost! and Lovers In Japan serve as a reminder that this is still Coldplay. Cemetries Of London is epic, it will be GREAT live - possibly an opener? Death And All Of His Friends is good however the 'all singing' ending is too much like Fix You - I remember Chris Martin saying that he realised X&Y's tracklisting was wrong two weeks after it's release and that Fix You should have been at the end, perhaps this is trying to make up for it giving VLVODAAHF the 'all singing' ending that X&Y should have had. Who knows. All I know is VLVODAAHF is awesome.

LIT Leak IS LIT...
Yes. It begins... "In the end..."
-
LIT Leak IS LIT...
In a word, no. It does not have the beat, but an escalation of sound and finality.

LIT Leak IS LIT...
The LEAK VERSION of LIT is THE ALBUM VERSION. The entire album is on Coldplay's myspace - it is exactly the same as the 'rought cut' LIT. http://www.myspace.com/387267497 FUN.

A voice in 42
I told my parents about this yesterday... to me it sounds like my Dad shouting 'Dan!' and I always check to see if it was him! Hahaha. I gave them both a listen and they thought it was quite spooky.

The '42' Thread
42 is an amazing song, it is among their best for sure. The opening, with Chris and the piano, is superb. Then the build up and sudden switch to the robotic 'Radiohead' type loop is SO refreshing and unpredictable. The beat is menacing. Onto the third part of the song, again as unpredictable as mid-section, seems to be more from 'The Hardest Part' than anything else of theirs I have heard - although it seems to fit so well. Then to finish off with Chris and the piano, the icing on the cake. I love this song, with each listen it gets better.

Is this the correct version? Seems a bit short. 2:31 ? ?
-
Jimmy Kimmel Live
It could be 'Yes'. Even if it isn't I'm really happy we've got another 'Low'... can't wait to hear the studio version.

Actually Lovers in Japan (Though its acoustic) thread! The Discussion thread
I'm very impressed. The 'full band' version sounds awesome too, keep it up Coldplay!

Coldplay to perfom at MTV Movie Awards on June 1
In actual fact if you watch the ACL performance of In The Sun you can visibly see Michael Stipe flinch and cringe when Chris tries to hit the high note... hahaha... true!

Coldplay to perfom at MTV Movie Awards on June 1
It seems Chris Martin has lost the ability to sing live... though some might argue did he ever have it? If you watch the 2005 MTV Movie Awards performance you'll hear what I mean, hard on the ears!

Sounds great, a bit of something for everyone!

Setlist
The one song I want them to include is SQUARE ONE and for them to have that big screen with the digital clock, but I doubt they will have that now... as an encore maybe? Hmmm. GPASUYF, Warning Sign, Low, Shiver and See You Soon would be nice. It would be awesome to see Amsterdam back in the mix, maybe that before Fix You...? Yellow is mandatory.

...confirmation email has just got through, 4 tickets seated in space by the looks of things! BUT WHO CARES EH?! I know it will be great no matter where you are! I'm gonna get drunk and sing at the TOP of my voice (that's right, I'm that annoying drunk guy at every Coldplay gig...) hahaha...

15-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
I got 4 tickets - can't remember where the seats were, but I think it was upper tier... wish I waited until they added the extra '16 Dec' date, but that seemed to sell out instantly too!
