We could also have only hard and heavy music rotating in the majorities cd players, but as long as the music labels and the new media (TV and magazines, etc..) hype another teeny pop band or ringtone music, there's no chance ... Yes. You got it ;) When I search for new good music, I look always apart the mainstream chart music .. Well, that does not mean, that I don't listen to mainstream. But actually, most bands placed in the music charts are shitty .. Don't understand me wrong. ;) But every country has its talented bands ^^ And one thing about "hard 'n heavy". Don't know if I understand you right (because of my english *g*) .. but german music can also be hard 'n heavy ...

We talk about good music and music skills .. not how popular they are. It's good to see, that for example Rammstein are very popular in the USA, but there are other german bands, you don't know (or don't want to know), which don't sing in english. And they have at least the same skill like a lot of english singing (britain ..) bands... And Rammstein is already bigger than Coldplay :D

You underestimate german music skill. And you forgot that fact, that english is the worlds first language .. so, you got more international chances. I mean, a lot of german bands don't give a fuck 'bout singing in english. That's why you people never heard of them ;) I mean, there are a lot of british bands with no good music, too ;) What? You don't know Rammstein, Julia? Oo And the translation of winnie's postet german adage: "Exeptions prove the norm" (that's correct, I think ..)

No, thats definitely NOT a classic example of german music. Please listen to some good bands, not that old "Volksmusik" out there .. I think you don't listened to any of this bands, I've postet on this thread. In germany, nobody's talking about Wolfgang Petry anymore .. That are the typical prejudices about germans and their sense of good music. :angry:
