U2
Yeah, I agree with that. No one will ever be U2. It's just silly to say that someone is the NEXT U2. Why, where's U2 going? lmao. To me, U2 is the next U2. The end. Diamond, the show was great (Radiohead, I mean). If you want to see my pictures, I posted a link in the Radiohead thread ;) I did feel kind of idiotic thinking I was the one, I was getting nervous towards the begining of With Or Without You. But I was still COMPLETELY happy with Bono giving me attention in the middle of the show! I can die happy now. beckhamcrosses, whooooooooooa. Very jealous! Post the shirt pictures, I wanna seeeeee! Haha, well hey. At least I was alive when ZooTV happened! ;) I specifically remember seeing U2 concert footage in 1992 on MTV, at the same time as the Olympics or something (I'd have been what... 5). Pretty funny.

Radiohead
If anyone wants to see all my pictures, and short account of the show (the setlist should speak for itself, eh? ;) ), then you can read it on my myspace blog, here: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=29001782&blogID=129734226&MyToken=b8546eab-9f66-4eea-890f-db2cd280e233 :) I really want a new camera. I've only had mine since Christmas, but what annoys me the most about it is how unclear things come out when they're at a distance. Definately not a concert photography camera. Sigh. A nice Canon might be my next major investment.... EDIT: By the way, if any of you want to add me on myspace, and you haven't already, feel free to!! :)

Billy Preston died today!!! :(
Karma police.. arrest this man... (talks enough) I care. Because I met the man and he was incredibly nice to me. He played an hour and a half set at a Beatle fan convention, then trekked all the way over to the signing booth and sat there for 2 hours until everyone was taken care of. More than we can say about A LOT of celebrities. lmfao, I love how people don't know who he is. But every single time they here The Beatles' 'Get Back' on the radio, they don't know that he's the one who helped that song (and indeed, helped the Beatles stay together to make 'Abbey Road', their finest work IMHO) come about. You look at this man's range of work and I'd be hard pressed to see someone say 'Who Cares???"

Billy Preston died today!!! :(
Singer-songwriter Billy Preston dies at 59 By MICHAEL D. CLARK Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle Billy Preston, the Houston-born rock, soul and gospel artist who played alongside pop music's elite, including Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan and the Beatles, has died in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was 59 years old. Preston had been battling heart and kidney problems for years. Preston was a childhood prodigy. As a pre-teen he portrayed young blues icon W.C. Handy in the 1958 movie St. Louis Blues. Before long he was playing beside other blues and gospel legends including Ray Charles, Little Richard and Mahalia Jackson. But Preston made his biggest mark playing rock 'n' roll. He's acknowledged by some as a "fifth Beatle'' having contributed to the Fab Four's "White Album," Abbey Road and Let It Be. He is the only non-Beatle to ever receive a songwriting credit on one of the group's singles. He also played on the Rolling Stones classics Exile on Main Street and Sticky Fingers. He enjoyed some solo success in the 1970s, including two No. 1 pop singles: Will It Go Round in Circles and Nothing From Nothing. After leaving Houston for Los Angeles, Preston's career took him all around the world, touring with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton. More recently he played on Neil Diamond's 2005 recording 12 Songs and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new Stadium Arcadium. I don't know how many of you would know him, but he was an AMAZING musician. Brilliant, to say the very least. I met him last April, he was sooo nice. This is an absolute shock to me.... :( What a lose for the music industry. Rest in Peace, Billy. :(

I took more, so there'll be more after I come back from school. I was disapointed that I couldn't really take videos, but I was standing LITERALLY right next to security, so I was terrified of getting yelled at again. Especially after getting bitched out for running up and getting on the rail. Which wasn't bothering ANYONE (wasn't blocking anyone's view, just couldn't see where I was). I hate security sooooooo much. So yeah, not many great videos. I did record all of Idioteque though (not much to see, I had the camera down, but it's got sound). Wow. lmfao. I feel like shit right now. I lost my voice............... :stunned: That setlist............. Holy jaysus. Thanks Nik for that, I hardly remembered what they even played! LMFAO EDIT: omg. I"m listening to the song again now and I just realized that 'Just' is probably the best thing they played ever. I have no idea why, but the lights and everything.... Holy fuck. My mom had to sit down (who had a kickass time, by the way, she rocked out to Idioteque it was so funny).

I am...................... so shocked. I have never EVER felt that much of a sense of... euphoria. I feel so high and yet I swear I didn't have anything to get me to feel this way. I feel like I just witnessed something big. Some pictures before I go pass out that I just uploaded: I jumped onto the rail at some point at hte begining of the show and stayed there for like 2 songs, but then got yelled at. Fucking bastards. Oh holy..... I need sleep.

I. Am. In. Shock. More tomorrow. How was it, you may ask. Short answer: Best concert I've ever witnessed.

I thought the same thing!! :bigcry: Really quick secret (that kind of embaresses me) before I run out the door to trek up to Boston to SEE RADIOHEAD (sorry I keep yapping about it LMFAO): I thought I was going to get pulled up on the 4th of October in Boston. I really, really did. Because during Sunday Bloody Sunday Bono smiled right down at me and then knelt in front of me and was all dramatic fixing his COEXIST headbang thing and started singing from there (something I haven't seen him do at other shows). I read on Interference that usually the girl he smiles at, or gives some attention to early in the night, gets up on stage. Imagine my disapointment when it was another girl to my right. :( Maybe he got confused...............? LMFAO I'm really embaressed by that now, how self centered of me. Oh well. I still got a Bono smile!!!!!!!

The official **KEANE** thread
Everyone agrees on everything I say. :smug: :uhoh: LMFAO! haha. Just joking, of course. And you're welcome Denise :) I really REALLY don't know if I want to download it, or let the excitement build up so I can listen to it in my car on the way home like I did when X&Y came out, which was AWESOME. Huh.

The official **KEANE** thread
Awwww, Denise, I hope the situation passes soon. I know what it's like to go through a rough period, not fun at all. But luckily music's always there :nice: I loooooooooooooove Hamburg Song. Really, it's so... ME. Some of their new songs just fit on me like a glove, you know? Weird analogy, haha. And Atlantic is so brilliant and so... not them. I love that. I think I'm tempted to download this. Of course, buying it on the 20th!!! ;)

Diamond, great avi. Ali and Bono are so pretty together, it makes me happy :nice: I just wish he had different hair than that strange semi mullet on his wedding day... YIKES! LMFAO!

Sometimes I have a nasty habit of working song lyrics into my regular speech patterns, and I don't even know it. Really, today I was giving a speech on AIDS/HIV and I just randomly went. "We're are all one. One love. One life. We have to carry each other through this crisis." and I burst out laughing because I realized after I said it that I just quoted U2's 'One'. No one got it..... :laugh4: :( I think I'm going to be talking in Radiohead lyrics all week... Oh dear! Whoo hoo, leaving for Boston now! :D I'll post pictures/videos (if they don't steal my camera, but I have ways of hiding it, refined from 4 U2 shows LMFAO!) tomorrow!!!! :)

Radiohead
I am officially crying. LMFAO! I really have a feeling this is going to be the best show of my life, and I've seen some AMAZING people live. I just have this FEELING that I'll never be...... totally the same after tonight. Let's hope in a good way, shall we? ;) Thanks for the well wishes everybody, and I'm sorry I keep spamming with my useless "OMGZ" but I am SOOOO EXCITED! Phew, for a minute there I lost myself!!! :uhoh: LMFAO.

Radiohead
........... I'M GOING TO SEE RADIOHEAD. in like.... 5 HOURS. Well, I'm leaving for Boston in 20 minutes. Then I'm going to stand around, then I'm going to go eat pizza and drink my mom's beer, then I'm going to freak out. :stunned: I'M SO EXCITED I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN IT.

I'm under the same name on there (an_cat), I just don't post nearly as much, even though I've been a member for a longer time. Don't really know why, just a bit more of a lurker when it comes to U2 communities. Weird. I can't edit your post for you, I'm sorry. Try the edit button at the bottom of your post if you want to remove the link, hope that works! ;)

You were one of Bono's dancing girls?!?!?! I want pictures, pronto!!!!!!! I was at the December 7th show, awesome! I had nosebleeds though, so didn't need to line up. Instead I watched all you GA-ers race down the stairs. I probably saw you :laugh4: Welcome to Coldplaying, by the way. :)
