  1. three tracks is basically a single with b-sides, lol
  2. I can definitely see them putting out EPs instead of albums after a certain point, as I've just said, there's too much at stake when it comes to LPs, they're major releases. EPs would just allow them to put out music quicker and there wouldn't be pressure for them to be commercially successful or anything. Closing down their very massive album run in 2024 and releasing a boxset / greatest hits in 2025 to celebrate 25 years of mainstream career would be quite nice.
  3. I'm thinking Vol.2 and Vol.3 will be EPs too, there's too much at stake when it comes to albums.
  4. I don't think they would tease the whole thing knowing certain parts would only be available many months later. Unless we have like, +30 tracks coming up.
  5. i feel the same for some reason, but the leaked bits of my universe sounds completely different from that
  6. the tour will probably start in mid-2022, so an ep would be perfect to fill the void
  7. i love short albums, leaves less space for bullsh*t, that's why coldplay's discography is awesome
  8. i'm going to listen to the snippets properly now, here's my reactions in real time! apparently mots + higher power will be the opening tracks very promising, i'm getting charlie brown vibes fun? is that you? but like, better? human heart! THE HEAVY GUITAR OMG ooh, this sounds like some good summer jam, what's with the little noise though? is this some sort of experimental edm? wtf interlude maybe? aaw, a cute ballad are those harps? now violins? well guys, we won
  9. I have a feeling this will be Everyday Life's pop sister.
  10. You guys are not helping me right now!!? @Coeurli I'm so sorry ?
  11. Anyone looking for being added to my DM send a message in private, do not make requests here!!
  12. thanks and sorry, this issue is probably my fault ?
  13. Viva La Vida vs Lost!
  14. I've added you to the DMs! Can you please hide some of your comments though? Not to be rude but it's flooding the thread ?
  15. How can I react with a laugh and a sad face at the same time? ?
  16. I didn't even mentioned Spotify. And the list of most acclaimed artists is not based on awards, it's based on reviews from critics, they listen to all sorts of non-mainstream stuff and you can find multiple acts that are not known by the general public. The "lackluster reaction" to Higher Power is honestly coming more from "fans" like you than the public, it's been charting better than Orphans everywhere around the world. It might not be smashing like previous singles but that was expected given how the band is just getting out of Everyday Life. It's pretty obvious by now that Coldplay is following a direction that goes alternative album > commercial album > alternative album again, just respect their decision, it's not that deep. Trashing the band and their collaborators everytime they're on the era that you don't enjoy is not going to achieve anything.
  17. For M5 and ID sales I've used Chartmasters, but Coldplay selling 100M albums is already confirmed by Parlophone and BPI. As for the other list, it's from the Acclaimed Music website, they gather year end, decade end and all time lists to rank artists. It's not 100% accurate but you can definitely put things into perspective.
  18. Best Selling Artists of All Time #45. Coldplay - 100,879,000 #71. Maroon 5 - 72,446,000 #115. Imagine Dragons - 34,074,000 Most Acclaimed Artists of All Time* #133. Coldplay #2973. Maroon 5 #OUT. Imagine Dragons There's no complex, they're factually superior in nearly every front. The few 21st century bands that are more acclaimed don't have half of Coldplay's impact and influence. It's insane how while most fans celebrate their favorite artist's legacy y'all are so quick to dismiss it. Sometimes I see more praise for the band coming from the outside, and that's not normal. *Beyoncรฉ sits at #77 on this list and she's the most awarded female artist ever, overall only Michael Jackson is ranking higher. If you think collaborating with her is joke worthy, then with all due respect, I'm afraid you don't know much about the music industry outside of your own stuff.
  19. And I was right all along, lmao. Except that BTS performed Permission To Dance instead.
  20. I'm excited for those! The English parts alone are kind of... shallow? I don't know if that's the proper word, but the they give me A Sky Full of Stars tease: not bad, but Chris can do better. Coldplay's philosophy is about accepting different people and cultures, so it makes me happy that BTS was allowed to write their own verses and sing on their own language, it will add more depth and authenticity to the song!
  21. Viva la Vida vs Yellow
  22. I guess it could be said it's as poppy as Higher Power. On the other hand I must say both sound more balanced than AHFOD, which was basically a documented pop album.
  23. I'm really interested in the Korean lyrics because I feel like those are the ones that will give the song more depth.
