Can we just agree that we need the boys to follow their hearts? I know the mainstream stuff is not up to everybody's taste, but just imagine how we simply wouldn't have this masterpiece if it wasn't for all the years of exploring new stuff ❤️

I kind of agree with this, I went through Higher Power, Human Heart and My Universe after this and they were even more enjoyable.

This is a VERY strong contender for best Coldplay song ever. And I better not see any of you trashing their 2010s material because it was all the years of experience and multi-genre exploration that led them to this point.

I have my fingers crossed for #1s, I'm not gonna lie. On the United States, My Universe will join Viva la Vida as the only songs by a British group to top Billboard's Hot 100 in this century. Meanwhile in the United Kingdom, Coldplay will join the Bee Gees, Queen, U2 and Take That as the only groups to have a #1 song in three different decades (Viva la Vida - 2000s, Paradise - 2010s, My Universe - 2020s).

Agreed. My Universe will thrive in the long run because it's a grower, I loved Higher Power since the first listen but got tired of it quickly duo to massive overplaying.

Guys!!! I was giving a look into my collection and this triangle symbol on Higher Power's CD is the same one from the MOTS poster they are selling. What if the second one represents the second album? I'm starting to believe in my own theory now!

I'm slowly starting to like the album cover more, reminds me of the minimalistic artwork of their early eras. This fan-made version with stars look so much better though, Pilar did us dirty.

Pride of the People sounds guitar-heavy though, Coloratura is looking like it might have some good riffs too, so I'm starting to wonder if less prominent guitars is something they did for the singles.

I think both MU and HP have the same problem: Guy and Will are doing great on the bass and drums, but Jonny is not very prominent, but as I said on this thread already, Max Martin doesn't have a problem with guitar-led songs, I know two productions of his that are guitar-led. So what's going on?

It wouldn't make them overexposed in media either.
