Show us your art!
Thanks! I had two strobes to the side with umbrellas (I'd say about 8 ft away from the table), a strobe with a softbox above the glasses, and a strobe under the table. And yes, I did drink them after. They were fantastic. :)

Show us your art!
Thanks guys! Winnie, I absolutely adore the Jim Beam photograph/collage! Does anyone ever get the feeling you should be starting a new project? I want to try something extremely experimental and abstract, I just dont know where to start. I think its because I just got back from the abstract art show. I feel like I should be creative.

What is your current most hated song??
Thats that fucking banana song, right? God I hate that song. I also hate every single song Rascall Flatts has made.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Wow...well I dont know. Im 21, graduated with a photography degree, and I'd really love to get into concert photography. Ive had a love for music since I was born. I play instruments, I always listen to music, and I always love going to concerts. I also absolutely love taking photographs of musicians and live concerts. Its hard to get into, but Im determined. One day I'd love to work on a music magazine doing portraits or even be a photo editor. One can dream. ;) One of my most realistic dreams is being a photography professor, or even an art teacher for high school/college. We'll see how that works out.

Mmmm Zeppelin. I like Moby Dick, The Lemon Song, Gallows Pole, Tangerine, Thats the Way, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, When the Levee Breaks, and Going to California. Mom got me into them back in the day and I have never looked back since!

Newbie here wondering about cameras
Professional would mean digital SLR's like the Nikon D-70s and D2H's. Your point and shoot digital camera will be fine. Trust me.

Okay Emo Bitches....
Jimmy Eat World is in no way true punk, nor close to being true punk music.
-
Okay Emo Bitches....
Or nevermind, since you have apparently edited that line out about EMO being directly comparable to punk...
-
Okay Emo Bitches....
That makes no sense whatsoever. It is? Really. Give me a case in which it is directly comparable.
-
Okay Emo Bitches....
Well then insert your favorite EMO band then in place of the non-emo, "indie" (this is funny), Dashboard Confessional. Who the hell cares? I was just comparing the bands. The purpose of my original message was to simply state that fashion trends have no place in music, and to tell whoever said that EMO was like Punk to compare both genres. I couldn't care less about EMO, I dont even listen to it. I have no desire to. Dont tell me to learn my music. I know plenty of music. This is coming from someone who asked if the Sex Pistols were EMO. YOU learn YOUR music.

The NAME GAME!
INXS (haha most of my bands end in S...weird)
-
Okay Emo Bitches....
No the sex pistols most certainly are not EMO. I just used a well known punk band (Sex Pistols) and a well known EMO band (Dashboard) for the sole purpose of genre comparison.

Okay Emo Bitches....
Im sorry but music shouldnt be about fashion. It should be about the music. Who cares what you wear? It should be "can you play?" or "Do you get the music?" You can wear whatever the hell you want, as long as listen to the music because you get it, not to fit into some stupid little group. I guess Im the only one who thinks that way now... Just be yourselves. And Green Day basically came into the mainstream and made "punk" more accessible to people. They're really more pop now than anything. Thats not to say theyre not good, because they are. I enjoy most of their albums that they've put out. However, real punk died a long time ago. And EMO and Punk are NOT the same thing. Please...go listen to some Sex Pistols and then listen to Dashboard. What blasphemy. (Edited twice to edit two spelling mistakes. Yikes. Should've caught those! ;))

Great Second Albums...
Dizzy up the girl was actually their 9th album (including re-releases of Jed and the self-titled album). Just a heads up. :)

Piercings
Congratulations! Thanks guys, I just speak from experience. :)

darien lake
Yeah traffic is just one of those things you have to deal with at Darien. However, if you can get back to your car and you're not triple parked, if you get in your car and get in line you'll eventually get out. It helps if youre parked in one of the front lots, though. I just sit back, relax, and wait for everyone to kill themselves trying to get out. I cook a few hot dogs, drink some water, listen to music, and then I leave. It really is a wonderful time.

Piercings
Ok here's the deal. Yes, it hurts. But for only about two seconds. Let me explain what they do first of all. He rubs your belly with some antibacterial soap, then draws on you to make sure it goes in straight. Then he either uses a clamp (which he did not for me), or pinches the skin. Then he places the needle through your skin and puts the piercing through. The whole process takes less than 10 minutes, and the actual piercing takes seconds. The piercer I had was the friendliest person ever. He listened to my stupid questions that he has probably heard thousands of times. He went over how he sterilized the equipment, how he was going to do the procedure, how much it was going to hurt, and most importantly the upkeep. You have to be committed to it, because even if you miss a cleaning you have a high risk of infection. DONT. SKIP. CLEANINGS. Also, If you have more fat on you, I've been told it doesn't hurt as much. Being a figure skater, and a mad exerciser, I do a lot of crunches and working out so my stomach is really all muscle. And one last thing - wear low cut pants. I cant tell you how many times I ripped the poor skin around it by wearing my work pants. I have also been that if you put some sort of eye patch around the area, tape it down, and put your pants on over that, it will help the snagging. Ive never personally tried it, but I dont see how it couldnt work. I gave it to myself as a college graduation present, and I think it looks cute. I love it, even though Im really the only one who sees it. I did it more for myself than anyone else. Im not a big, "hey look at my belly button" flaunter. The boyfriend likes to look at it, though. I guess thats good. Oh and the whole bimbo stereotype...not true. I graduated with high honors, with a degree, and with a job fresh out of college. I just did it for me. Perhaps im a masochist. Im sure those "bimbos" get them, but Im also positive that they're not the only ones. Good luck. If you need any more info, dont hesitate to ask your piercer. That's his job, after all. :) And if he doesnt want to give you answers, or doesn't know the answer to anything, LEAVE. You're not committed to the first place you go to. Shop around the area for piercers, because there are a lot of bad ones out there. Lisa | 4.5 months/no infections.

darien lake
Matt, Im about 20 minutes away from Darien Lake (I live in a suberb of Buffalo - Cheektowaga) if I take the back roads in, which is really the only way I take now. It took about 15 if I took the thruway, but it never worked out that way because of the traffic. Whereabouts are you coming from? It should be an excellent show! :) Lisa
