So another fandom im a part of is Super Smash Bros. There was a very real sounding leak known infamously now as the Grinch Leak. Give the link a read for details, but damn, this guy made all the images himself, found someone on LinkedIn, made a backstory with him, nearly got the guy fired from his professional game production company because of how high quality it was. It fooled EVERYONE. In the end, it was fake. People really have nothing better to do than to troll others. Don't just buy an anonymous tip because it makes you feel good and it sounds like it could be real. Why spend time just to troll people? Because they can, and they will. The more people falling for it, the more they're gonna continue to do it. That being said, while I never bought that discord thing for a second, the fact that we have photos and Greg James tweeting does bode very well. For me, im happy enough with that as confirmation, and any other rumour, speculation, leak is just noise at that point. It'd be especially easy to throw fake news out there now that we kinda do know from photos and Greg that something is happening. I mean, the hardest leak to leak is the first one. But then you have all these 'insiders' come out of nowhere. If they were so connected, why didnt they leak it BEFORE the phots and shit came out?

No worries, I had a feeling most comments were sarcastic, but also know some are legit. I know from past similar situations, people seemed very upset with the band for unrealistic and unestablished expectations that the fandom placed on the band. So, like here, someone posted that they expected a single next week. Afterwards, we should not be upset with the band for them not meeting our made up timelines. I know most of us are better than this, but I know a few people will be upset.

Thank you, I didnt want to be the downer, but we're already getting out of control here. We barely have real confirmation, and we're already hoping for a single next week...I guess its understandable, we've been so starved for news! Listen, i'd love to be wrong, but after 7 eras of seeing things not pan out, i'll need more confirmation before I go celebrating in the streets.

Inside access does not equate to truth. I'll liken it using an example from my other hobby which is (ice) hockey, There are many reporters and writers who spend a ton of time around players, coaches, agents, the team, the rink, etc. There are definitely reporters in hockey as well where they seem like the most connected people in the business but seem to never get anything right. They would tweet something out and just see what sticks. Who knows if this will turn out to be true? Lets keep our eye on it, but not put all our faith into it. Cmon, we've seen this play out over 7 eras now where a rumour turns out to be a dud. Good news is, we dont have to wait long until we know for sure; November is not too far away afterall!

Would also match up with the band saying they'll be full of surprises. I mean, did anyone expect a double album? But lets not get carried away... : )
