  1. I know, it would just be a very cool situation wouldn't it! He should post more pictures!
  2. I love that Guy is tweeting now. I just remember the tweet "just told the band about tweeting..." and then I could picture Guy taking the phone or the computer saying "hmm, what is this Twitter business" and then after three tweets he's just like "OMG I'm addicted," and won't give Anchorman or R42 back the account, hence his super random tweets (I especially love the bed and the apple on the lamp, hahah!) I just started tweeting, twittering last week, and I've already got like 30 updates, lol. Also, if Guy is where I think he is, then it's not so secret, because that place is to Strokes fans what the Bakery is to Coldplay fans. But I'm not 100% sure if that's the place..
  3. I know, I just tweeted back "send my regards to Matt R. and his friends" LOL. All of Coldplay and all of The Strokes could very well be hanging out together at this very moment, drinking beers, making jokes. How Planet Earth has not spontaneously combusted, I don't know. How I haven't spontaneously combusted? I don't know! They are my two favorite bands, their music is responsible for a very large portion of my well-being!!
  4. Well.. That Matt is Matt Romano. He's an everything for The Strokes. He's best friends with the band, he is Fabrizio's drum guy, and he actually is the drummer in Albert's band (when Albert plays solo). I should disclose that I am a MASSIVE Strokes fan, so I can spot Matt. I can't believe he's friends with Coldplay. I would have never guessed... And the background, well it looks like where Matt and The Strokes are based out of. I've never been there, and I'm just taking a guess.
  5. I hate to admit this, but I'm almost 98% sure I know where the band is. Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who recognized Matt? ! As soon as I clicked on the picture, I had an immediate idea. LOL. I love Coldplay so effing much dammit.
  6. So far no official set list announcements? I do know they sound-checked "Everything's Not Lost." From the tweets, it sounded like a smooth night.
  7. Also, how did people get copies of the live album tonight? Any problems?
  8. Those pictures are amazing. Wow. You really can't get any closer than that. So lucky, I'm glad you got that dream to come true Friday night :) You'll be looking and showing off those pictures until the next tour. Rightly so!
  9. They went up to the lawn, and then left the lawn through the same side. You know how if you were sitting on the lawn and when looking at the stage, you would be on Jonny's side? That left side (I think its called stage right?), that's the side where Stage C was. I don't know if they'll always be there, or mix it up between the left and right throughout the tour though. I saw them twice last year, and both times it was the same setup, but the lawn is open, so perhaps it is easer to mix it up?
  10. I had a ticket, so I was in section 6. Volunteers without a ticket were allowed to sit anywhere on the lawn. So if you're volunteering and you've read this thread, you know where you should sit for maximum view ;)
  11. I did, and so did another Coldplayer, although I didn't talk to anyone about Coldplaying! We were all pretty busy as soon as we gathered. Instead of t-shirts, the volunteers were rocking Oxfam umbrellas, bandanas and fanny packs! We initially had set a goal of getting 50 signature for a petition urging world leaders to take action on the effects climate change has on third world countries. But the bar was set higher, and we aimed for 70 signatures each. The most one volunteer got was 100+. People were eager to hear about the petition and what it was for. Some people just weren't interested. They were either drunk, or thought this was a political thing (I got a few "we should help our country before we help others" and someone starting going off about how Chris is a Democrat.) I believed in the cause, and as a result probably talked too much when I approached someone, which is probably why I only got 67 people to sign the petition... All the volunteers were super, super, super cool. We broke the ice asking each other what our favorite Coldplay song was. Lots of people love "Warning Sign" so Coldplay should take notice :) And Soha, who took over for Pete, is wonderful. She was once a volunteer at a Coldplay show, and now she works for Oxfam! She and Bob were awesome.
  12. The pit looked like the place to be. It was waaaay smaller than I thought it would be. I thought the pit was basically going to be an area about half the size of the floor, but with no seats. But it's actually a tiny little pocket right in front of the stage. I'm thinking that no matter where you stand there, you're going to be in an awesome spot, just because it's so small. Someday I'll get in there, lol.
  13. My goodness, that was long... Time for bed. For my own good, LOL.
  14. (Holy stinking crap, it is 6 in the morning. I drove 2.5 hours to get home, was intially super tired, but now I'm in reflection mode...) South Florida at the start of the summer is hot. And humid too. So there's no doubt that you're going to sweat, but even with the most uncomfortable of heats (hot, sunny and humid) tonight's Coldplay gig was amazing. The set seemed longer and there were songs Florida didn't get to hear live during last year's tour. Maybe it's because it's the first date of a tour, and they're fresh and energized because the tour isn't a routine yet. Maybe it's because they love Florida. But they were all so giddy, especially Chris! The "Violet Hill" ending got a Florida twist from Chris, who actually sung: "...If you're attending the first night of the last leg of the VLV tour in Florida...and if you're prepared to have an extremely good night on that Friday evening in Florida...and if you wanna make a loud nooooise... won't you let me know." That got the crowd going right away, although I did notice the front was a little inactive. This venue had some seats near the front (slightly before the pit) that were actually bar tables, complete with a wait staff. I thought this was a rock show, not a night at the jazz club? That crowd was kind of boring, and I wish they'd been more excited. Same with some people around me. During "42" Chris was playing dead/pyscho eyes while on the piano, and I wondered if that was a shout-out to the posh crowd who were too cool to sing or move. He did it for a while though, and it was the most quirkiest I've ever seen him, doing those crazy eyes like he had just seen a ghost or something. In section 6, a few of us were very excited, even if some people behind were sitting, talking or texting. Our singing just drowned it out ;) I did notice that the aisle near section 6 turned into a mini-nightclub during the "God Put a Smile.."/"Talk" mix from the second stage. People not only wanted to see the band, but lots of them just started breaking it down because the music was so good. Jonny's whammy bar action is the best thing about that mix. I could write a thesis about how awesome that effect is! As he began "Postcards..," Chris messed up, and he didn't let it go. He said something along the lines of "Hold on, let's try that again. You can a get a 50 cent refund off your ticket." He started over and played it perfectly. His face looks so focused when he plays this, even with the sweat dripping off of it every few seconds. During the show, Chris talked a lot. It's what he does. Some of what he said: -He's not liking his hairstyle at the moment: "What looks good at your house on a Thursday, doesn't look so good on a Friday in West Palm Beach." -He wanted the West Palm crowd to audition for next's year's American Idol, and maybe do a better job than Susan Boyle (whose name he actually couldn't remember, so just laughed out loud) -Also, if you showed up hoping to see TheBeeGees, you're out of luck. "That's tomorrow, and you have the wrong night, and you're gonna be dissapointed. It's only my job to warn you. If you came to see Coldplay, you're in the right place." Then they kicked into "Yellow," with the big balloons and all. For the third stage, the band made its way to the lawn, which was ten times better than the move to the high seats during last year's tour. It was just so much more grander here. They said no act has ever gone and played up there. Lots of people in section 6 stood up on their chairs to see the set, and a lady next to me was in tears when she saw the band go up there. It was like she couldn't believe such a big band would even bother going up there. I was like ,"Oh yes ma'am, they love EVERYONE." While at the lawn, Chris started a "Mexican" cell-phone wave (I think that's what he called it). He told everyone in the venue to do the wave with their cell phones. He made us do it about three times ("Well that was shit, we gotta do that again"). Chris said the Mexican cell-phone wave had never been attempted before, unless Joe Satriani had already done it!! Sense of humor: intact and perfect. The lawn set had "Green Eyes," too, the first time I've heard it live! The band also covered "I'm a Believer" during the lawn set, and Chris went on a super love-fest. Normally, after "am I in love," the lyric is "ooooh, I'm a believer," but Chris stopped it several times to ask "Are you in love:" -Will, strange (?) looking, but nevertheless drummer of Coldplay? -Guy, the one who sells all our posters? -Johnny, who would never sing in front of anyone much less 16,000 people? -Really good looking people in front of us? And all the way where the Viva ballon is? Toward the end, "Politik" had a lyric change to get the crowd going crazy. "Give me heart and give me soul...Give me love give us a kiss, give me a great, big Floridian scream just like this...open up your eyes.." After the show officially ended, people made a dash for the new album. This probably got way more dangerous than it should have, bless those volunteers who had to endure crazy people fighting for CD's. If you want one, just be gentle, don't bumrush the person with the box full of CD's :) This was my fourth time seeing Coldplay, and I've said this before about my other times- but it was my favorite. I don't know, though. I also volunteered for Oxfam tonight, and it was beyond fun to do that too. All I can think about is how great tonight was, and how August's closing show needs to be here right now. I loved it all. I hope all the fans who go this tour are just as amazed.
  15. Nice one! I'm actually about to watch the tutorial that was sent the other day
  16. I just got a twitter this week and I was wondering if this was possible. I'm going to try, if I'm not too excited, lol. It's Jess0302.
  17. I'll be up at 5am, and I'm tempted to do it before the show, but I got to thinking about how awesome it would be to play it for the first time on my way back home. It will keep me all giddy and awake, so I won't think about how painful the long drive is. Ahh, even if the drive is killer, I can't wait! Summer tour is on! Florida first stop, Florida last stop! It's gonna be a good summer.... Also, don't forget to be nice to the Oxfam volunteers tomorrow. I'll be one of them :) I hope everyone going has fun and takes lots of pictures and just rocks out the whole night.
  18. Is stuff from Prospekt's March pretty much a shoe-in? I know "Postcards..." will get in there, just like last year, but what are the chances of hearing "Glass of Water," or "LITII"? I hope they really, really, really mix it up.
  19. Just a few days!!!! Adding to Ana's dream set-list, and hoping for "Crests of Waves," for dark horse winner (probably not, but I'll never give up!!) I hope everyone has fun!
  20. I have to be there by 4 p.m for my Oxfam responsibilities :) ...I was thinking about going earlier though, to see if I could at least hear the soundcheck. That drive is going to kill me. I have to take an exam the next day at 9:30am! I'm thinking of just staying there, and then driving back in the morning. I hate driving sooo much. One week left!

  22. JustSpies84 replied to a post in a topic in Coldplay
In "I Ran Away," he says: A star arose in my own cage I stuck in line And in a cage Just a single star I sing for Years later, and I still don't hear it, though. To me it sounds like: A star arose I'm on a cage I'm stuck in line And in a cage ...after that lyric, I don't even know what he says. But it definitely does not sound like "Just a single star, I sing for." Also, the lyrics say "I had your love on call, and yet my belly is so full." LOL. Say what?! I don't hear that either. I hear, "I had your love on call and yet your (something I can't decipher) is so cold."
  23. Reporters, woo! I would ask him for the assignment if he believes he is too good to interview the band's bassist and is only worthy of interviewing the lead singer. I can think of a bunch of things to ask Guy (or Will, Jonny and Chris). What a sweet interview opportunity.
  24. Hahaha, so nooooow Guy's in the band and you're okay with it, huh Mr. Snob Reporter? Should have done your research first! Someone tweet him that he can ask Guy Berryman any question he wanted to ask Chris Martin, because They're in the SAME friggin' band. If he's a good reporter, he'll do the research and think of the interview himself.
  25. RIGHT ON!!! I'm a reporter too, and I know that sometimes (every day!) I have to beg for an interview, so this particular journalist is either 1) an ignorant, unprofessional douche or 2) so full of himself that he thinks he's worthy of only interviewing Chris. No reporter should ever think he or she is better than the source. This guy already had a gold assignment interviewing someone from Coldplay, and he shows his ignorance by tweeting that comment. I can't believe he wrote that. It's extremely rude too. Please don't think all reporters are like this. He deleted it 'cos he knows it was unprofessional.
