  1. Is it better to hold out? I can't believe that I'm only getting section 106 as the best available. What's up with the floor sections? Where are those?! Every Coldplay tour, the same thing.... With that said, Hellooooo Florida Coldplayers! So wrong to make tickets go on sale during Christmas time!
  2. I like it. It's sexy sounding, no? It's like the electronic sounding cousin to "Yes." It's different, but it's not bad at all. The female vocals are not overpowering and sound really damn good with Chris, to be honest (I was not expecting to like that aspect). Lyrically, it's skies above Paradise. But my one issue: Where are the instruments? This is a rock band...Can I hear Jonny? Can we turn the old lad up, please? Or is he jamming out on the synth? Jonny boy, I still have love for you and your Telecaster. Listening to this one has made me realize that Coldplay want to make music everyone will be into. Not just the sad guys and ladies from the first two albums (me...), but the boys and girls who watch MTV, who text all the time and who don't even buy CD's anymore. I know it's going to sound ridiculous to ask this 'cos they've been one of the biggest bands in the world for years...But does anyone else feel like Mylo Xyloto is going to be their 'mainstream' album? Either way, nothing but love. I shall patiently wait for the rest, and with my hopes still up.
  3. Where can I find this interview? It's probably my favorite verse in that song, I could completely relate to it once I first heard it! The song was quite underwhelming to me at first, but that lyric just made it for me :) Is there a link to him saying something about it?
  4. Si, pero creo que me perdi en el medio de ese post. Alguien contando algo de Chris en la cama? Queee?! :o But none of those links worked althouuuuugh- those pictures of him in the green cap are definitely from that day! I recognize it...But crap. I guess the video was never meant to be shared and is now kept under wraps. Thank you for the link to the post in the old thread about it- See how everyone was saying how it was cute and adorable? Dudes..it really was! LOL. I guess I'll just get over it by listening to them. Mission not accomplished :(
  5. Damn :( I had no idea it was from a magazine, but now that I see that article, it makes sense. I remember the video clip was shot from above looking down, it wasn't necessarily professional, but you don't see those kind of videos of the crowd from random people. But it was a great little clip. Thank you for helping me, though! Maybe someone will read this and I'll get to see it again eventually. It was just awesome to see him acting all dorky on his own. When I first saw it I said "Yeah! I'm not the only one!" How can one person be full of so much awesome? I don't get it.
  6. It wasn't that one, but that's one I've never seen before! LOL, that was great, thank you :-) The one I saw looked like it was taken at an outdoor show, and everyone in the audience was doing some sort of a dance with everyone moving their hands and Chris was all in there not even toward the front, moving his hands and dancing and singing along. And the song sounded very new wave. I remembered I once posted it on my Facebook about 2 years ago and yesterday I scrolled allllll the way down to when I posted it, but the video has since been taken down. I was hoping someone had saved it? I know there's one of him at an Arcade Fire show too; that one's still around. But this one- it was properly quirky/cute/adorable and other words I don't normally use, lol. Has anyone seen it? Just so no one thinks I'm crazy, lols. Thank you for the help!
  7. They just did a little Mas Que Nada at the end of Lost. Jorge Ben must be smiling so hard right now. This is amazing. Can you imagine being there at this moment?
  8. "Tem alguem aqui?" - Chris :) :) :) Legal If he's going to keep speaking Portuguese through this, I don't think I'll be able to make it. Nossa.
  9. Is it on delay, or just lateish? As someone who has lived in Brazil, I can say that in Brazil a lot of things and people are not always super punctual ;)
  10. I thought this would be the right place to ask? I haven't seen it in years: It was an old YouTube video clip of Chris singing and dancing in the crowd at a Depeche Mode (or was it New Order?) show. It was funny and I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I found it adorable. Does anyone know of this little clip, or where I can see it again? I can't find it on YouTube and googling hasn't gotten me anywhere either. The pictures are a nice comfort, though. Gracias gracias gracias...This thread always makes me smile, lol :)
  11. Since I first saw Coldplay, I've been begging for it: Crests of Waves. That and Spies in a Coldplay set, and I'm good to go for the rest of my life.
  12. I mostly just lurk to myself here, and don't come out to say much. But seeing Coldplay Saturday at Music Midtown was absolutely amazing. I know a lot of people have seen them before, and this was my sixth time: I can easily say that this was the best I have ever seen them. Maybe it had to do with the fact that after seeing them five times before, I was finally at the front. Coldplay's stage set-up is huge; like it's meant to have an effect on people who are all the way in the back of the crowd just as much as it's giving those in the front a reaction...but up close it's insane. Because everything is so magnified at that close distance, you almost feel like you're on the stage itself for a moment.. That just took my breath away. Then again, maybe it had to do with the crowd. It was also the first time I went to a Coldplay show and everyone around me was a giant, huge Coldplay fan-nerd like me. To my left, to my right, in front of me, behind me....Everyone was talking about Coldplay's music, Coldplay shows, the new album. I saw tons of homemade shirts... I couldn't believe it! There were a group of guys to my left who were dying to hear Charlie Brown in person. These guys sang all the words, didn't fuss at all the jumping and were just friggin' happy. It made the experience a bazillion times more beautiful. I left the park that night thinking "well damn, it is great to be a Coldplay fan." The band could feel the love and they let it show in their set. I can't wait for this thing to officially kick off, 'cos after getting back from Coldplay, everyone and everything is no fun, lol.
  13. I feel like I have to come out of Coldplaying hiding to say that Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall sounds so much better live. I couldn't believe myself actually anticipating it?! But I was. That was a great ACL set. A shout-out to all who will be in Atlanta next weekend. Can't wait!
  14. Hi Jane, thanks for the information. I got in touch with them, and they ended up transferring the money to my bank account with no problems, so I'm glad that didn't end up being a pain in my butt. I guess I'll use the returned money for some of my more grown-up responsibilities...
  15. Good morning Coldplayers! My friend and I have been pretty much bummed for the past 3 days, since we got the email of the cancellation. I'm dissapointed...she's angry and says it's unfair. We had our super cheesy t-shirts and glow sticks and everything! I guess we'll save them for another day since there's no concert now. Ironically, we went to the Charlotte, NC show in a last-minute turn of events. We were so friggin' excited to have made it there, knowing that we'd get to see them again Sunday, even closer and crazier. Of course that never happened. So after getting this email, we're thinking, "crap, I'm glad we went to Charlotte, but now I'm even more glad." It's actually bittersweet, though. I was wondering if most of you received your refunds already??? I bought my tickets with a card I no longer have, and I wanted to know if I should probably call LiveNation and ask them how I can get my refund properly? I'm afraid they're gonna rip me off and say, "Nope. Sorry. You break you buy" even though I did buy, just with an old card! Whatever, I'm not going to rant about how much they suck... ...But if the show was indeed scratched because of low ticket sales, then LiveNation and those in charge of pricing have no one to blame but themselves. Saying premium seats are unavailable days before tickets go on sale, but then magically making them available weeks before the concert is scamming, I don't care what anyone says. Maybe they would have made more cash had they had tickets for sale that justified the price?? Just sayin' At the end of the day, I saw Coldplay four times this tour, so I feel like I have nothing to really complain about. And my apologies go out to all the Coldplayers and fans who made massive travel arrangements to come to the Tampa gig, or were eager to see the band here for the first time. What a lousy way to go out :( I'm sorry :(
  16. It actually reads more like a poem than an actual song. The words are more bare, direct and raw than some other Coldplay songs with a heartbroken theme. It's like opening someone's journal and reading their thoughts :( I wonder where Chris has to go in his mind to pull out these kinds of songs he writes? Without writing a whole book about Coldplay's music and its connection to my emotions, let me just say that the songs are beautiful. No shame in admitting I cry to their music!!
  17. Where can I see those?! It just looks way, way cool. Like a massive giant stage set up in the middle of the town square, for everyone to enjoy. Venues aren't like that over here, at least in Florida they're not. The show looked like it was a lot of fun. The Speed of Sound video was out of this world (literally). Imagine seeing that in person... wowowow!
  18. Oh my goodness. I've never seen this one! He's perfect. I love this thread, it's really the only place I come and admit that I have a crush on Chris. I usually just say he's perfect, but only here can I just go out and admit that's extremely gorgeous. Absolutely hot. And that series of pictures of Chris when he has his hair really short made my day. I love his short haircuts, probably more than when he keeps it long, so those pictures cheered me up. Really- I've been having a horrible day, and some of those actually took my mind off the bad day, lol. Thank you so much for those!
  19. Looking at the new stage for the European leg of the tour is making my heart hurt. It looks friggin' amazing!!! Plus Chris cut his hair, and because I've had a crap day, looking at those pictures has been the highlight. Yes, I know: It's kind of pathetic. The Tampa show didn't go on, but I feel a slightly painful post-concert depression coming through :( I guess I'll browse through all the pictures I ended up taking during this tour... Hope all of you are staying strong at least, lol.
  20. That looks amazing. How is it to have a giant show like that around buildings? Can people see it from their homes? That doesn't happen much here. The amphitheaters are always off to a non-residential area, because of noise restrictions. But to have the buildings around the stage? Especially European structures which are almost always filled with history? It's way too beautiful. I can't even imagine what it must be like to experience that. Thank you for the pictures!! (And speaking of way too beautiful: Chris's haircut looks perfect on him.)
  21. Exactly. It only highlights how generic their "customer service" is. It was the first thing that popped in my head when I got that email.
  22. Thanks Tracey :) By the way, if something happens and Thursday ends up being the date, could all Coldplayers who made travel plans still be able to make it? I think I'm supposed to cover a meeting for work Thursday night. But if Coldplay's back on, I'll not only skip the meeting, but I will most likely leave work early. If anyone asks, I'll say it's because of an important emergency: Coldplay! And if it gets rescheduled with notice, I'll try to call up the radio station in Tampa, and ask them to shout out the glow sticks, so the whole venue is covered. Just a big ass thanks to the band for coming back, and still showing Florida some love.
  23. That's true. And really, it was just there. I saw no big commotion, no moving out of the way, nothing at all like that. Most likely nothing serious, but after seeing the notice on the web site, I got worried :( I noticed the Saratoga Springs show ended up being rescheduled about 2 months after the original date. I don't know if that's possible for the Tampa gig, because they were getting ready to go overseas. Does anyone have an idea of what the chances of getting a rescheduled date in the next month are? It would've been cool to see some Coldplayers today, finally. In Charlotte, I saw 2 from far away wearing the Coldplaying shirts :)
  24. Hey Florida Coldplayers, and pretty much everyone who was super psyched for the Sunday show, Massively bummed when I got my email from LiveNation. I ended up going to the Charlotte gig super last minute, since I have family up there, and my friend and I were sightseeing and doing the touristy thing in Georgia. It was an awesome show, to say the least. So we're driving away from Charlotte, talking about how awesome Sunday's show's gonna be, especially since we managed to see the last two shows, and we've never been to a last of anything, lol....Aaaaaand then my BlackBerry gets an email from LiveNation that says the show is off. It's 3:24am, I just got back in Florida, and I'm still awake thinking about it! Anywho, I wrote this in the Charlotte thread, but if anyone didn't see it, I thought I'd post it here: ...After Friday's show, my friend and I sat in my car for about hour waiting for the traffic to die down, since getting out of the parking lot of a large venue is insanity. At one point during our hour break, there was a lit up ambulance that drove up between the staff parking lot and of the back gate areas of the venue. So when we read the "medical reasons" on the website today, our minds flashed back to that ambulance. I don't know why it was there, and if it was there for someone in the band, or someone in the audience, or someone in the staff. But I really hope no one is seriously hurt or ill. Is Chris being ill confirmed? Crap, more than getting my chance to see them again, I hope he and the band are okay. They shouldn't get back on stage unless they are 100% ready to bring it, because if they're forced up there, the fans will be able to tell, and an exhausted band makes the crowd sad. I will wait a damn year for them! It would just mean 2008 through 2010 was my Coldplay holy trinity year, heh :) Keep your signs and those glowsticks, you guys. We're still going to use them! I feel bad for those who were making the big trip for the last shows. I hope you guys that are gonna be in Tampa at least still party and get shit faced, like I read a few messages up, LOL. __________________
  25. Hey Coldplayers Through a late development I ended up being at this show, and wanted to make it a Coldplay weekend, since I was already headed to Tampa tomorrow night, and it was great. Even out in the lawn the crowd was absolutely amazing. Even with the intense, humid heat it was amazing! No one sat down, and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater went in a frenzy during 'Billie Jean.' The audience even sang along to the Michael Jackson "woo!" from the song! One highlight of being in the lawn is being in the cell phone wave, and being able to see it from a different standpoint gave me goosebumps. It's still friggin' adorable. Chris repeatedly thanked everyone for coming out on a Friday night, since on that night, he said, there's endless possibilities when it comes to stuff to do. He was quieter than usual, but Charlotte got lots of love. At one point he busted out with "A Rush of Blood To The Head," during the end of one of the songs at the top of the set. The band also shouted out their friend Murray back in the UK, whose birthday it was, and asked the crowd to sing the ending to "Yellow" for him. Amazing. And yes, he did lose his focus during 'Death and All His Friends,' and told Jonny to stop! He messed up and just blurted out "Oh, fuck...I was looking at the girl in the audience. Err, don't put this on YouTube" and got right back on track at "just be patient and don't worry." He also lost focus a bit at the beginning of "Death Will Never Conquer," and blurted out another f-bomb. Damn, it sounds adorable when he says it! Does that make any sense? Technically, this was the last show of the tour and it was amazing. It was my fifth time, and again I realized that Coldplay live is addicting. You can't get the experience out of your mind, and it reels in there until you just want go for more. And I'm super sad that the Sunday show is not happening. I got my notice from LiveNation while I was in the car, I gotta say, my mind then flashed back to the night before... ...After the show, I sat in my car for about hour waiting for the traffic to die down. At one point, there was a lit up ambulance that drove up between the staff parking lot and of the back gate areas of the venue. So when I read the "medical notice" on the website today, my mind immediately went to that ambulance. I don't know why it was there, and if it was there for someone in the band, or someone in the audience, or someone in the staff. But I really hope no one is seriously hurt or ill. That would be horrible.
