[##CANCELLED - DISCUSSION PG138 ONWARDS] 09-Aug-09: Ford Amphitheatre, Tampa, FL
Maaan! I'm gone a few days and I miss SO MUCH! Congratulations Tracey on winning the Coldplay vacation package, that's so damn sweeeeeet!!! You guys must spread the energy up to where I'll be sitting. Just a few more days, holy crap! Tomorrow my friend and I are making our shirts, lol. I'm gonna try to look for some glow earring too, to match with the glowsticks. Have we decided when the glowsticks will be lit up? I know they usually last like 3-5 hours, depending on the size and quality. Oohh man, I can't wait. The weather's not bringing me down either. I hope to see everyone there in full rocking out mode :)

I'm in section 16 (cue: wah wah) I'm still bringing glowsticks for as many people in the back. And a sign (maybe?). The back's gonna rock out, this is the last time we'll see Coldplay for a long, long time, so we have to give them a good send off. I'm gonna go over to the Oxfam booth to get my friend to sign the petition, and I'll turn in my petition sheet that I got to take home after I volunteered in May, lol. Can't wait!!!

My experience of meeting Coldplay ! LONG POST WARNING!
If this was a book, I would buy it. What an experience. Beautiful, chatting with Christopher's (hehe) dad. And it's great to know that they're really nice and light-hearted. In the pictures with the fans they never look like they're super excited, lol. Gracias for sharing :)

Viva La Vida... demos thread
Thank you very much Perejro :) I thought they had been taken down for some reason. Either way, it's like Christmas morning for fans who followed the making of this album, to hear these songs! (Also, I did notice I already had the Spies demo, so if anyone has a Spies demo from a while back, I believe this is the same one.) Thanks to everyone who has generously released these and allowed people to hear them. Much love. Obsessed with Chris cursing in the beginning of 'The Man Who Swears 2.' I shouldn't be swooning over a guy using profanity, but it's... adorable.

Viva La Vida... demos thread
I'm so confused now after trying to go back and read this thread...So a new batch of VLV demo's leaked (including a "Spies" demo different from the one we've all heard???), but the download link was removed because it was being spread around the Internets? I'm guessing since this weekend a policy or something was changed in regards to the sharing of the demo's. I saw the link to the "Bloodless Revolution" thread on Coldplaying's Twitter, but now the links for the rest of the demos are dead? I'm so lost... Ay Dios Mio! What do we have to do to hear these tunes now? Are they gone for good? :(

And don't forget Crests of Waves. That's what my sign's going to be requesting, lol! Poor Coldplay, it's not live by request, but the fans can't help our need for some variety. I'll take Trouble (last heard it in Orlando 2006) and Moses would be amazing. Crests of Waves or Spies would make me fly

Which song do you wish coldplay had written?
Their version of A-Ha's "Hunting High and Low" is one of the few covers I like more than the original version. They stripped it down to basics, and it sounds fresher compared to the 80's synths of the original. The Coldplay version brings out the lyrics, which are beautiful. I can see why Chris loves that one. And totally out of the blue, random and possibly cheesy: "Send Her My Love" by Journey would kick butt (http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/Send_Her_My_Love/7168666). If they re-arranged it with less 80's cheese and stripped it down to the basics, it could very well be a Coldplay song. It would be softer (but not really) and just more...pure. That probably made no sense. Maybe it's the piano that does it to me, lols... Oh, and "Hallelujah," of course ;)

06-Aug-09: Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, Raleigh, NC - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setl
I don't know if anyone going to this show could help me... ..Is anyone going also volunteering for Oxfam? Do you know if any more volunteers are needed, or if there is a shortage of them? Because I was considering making a trip up there, even more so if there was a shortage of Oxfam volunteers. I've been wanting to work for them again, but I don't know how to find out if they're in need of more people or not....

I'm Jess :) I gotta say, Section 8 is great spot, lucky!!! I'm disappointed in my seats, especially since I got them in pre-sale, but my friend and I aren't sure we'd be able to upgrade our seats and re-sell these old ones in such short notice (especially since there are way better seats currently available) If anything, I will light up Section 16 with the glowsticks, and make a sign begging for "Crests of Waves." I'm going to make one sign that says "Play Crests of Waves!!" and then my friend will hold another one that says "Pleaaaase?" LOL. Desperate tactics, but I'll never give up. Is the band still doing upgrades as well? So it's going to be a different set-up from the beginning of the tour? For example, in West Palm, Stage B with the piano was off to stage right. It's changed? I'm in the front of Section 16, so I was hoping if anything I'd be able to see the stage B set up close :(

Viva La Vida... demos thread
THANK YOU THANK YOU so very much for this. It's appreciated! It doesn't get more Chris Martin than "Hmm, that needs a little work!" at the end of the LIJ demo, hehe.

Hi Coldplayers! It's been a while, but I'm not the only one counting down, I hope??? MartinFan, I think this venue's pit has always been one of the bigger ones..This is the same venue from the Tampa show in '06, I think? I don't know why the West Palm venue had a much smaller pit, though. There's a lot of pit tickets left, yet LiveNation still managed to raise the price. They never cease to amaze me. Does everyone have a steady supply of glowsticks already? I'm getting ready to buy some!!! I'm in Section 16, and hopefully people there will be energized and excited for Coldplay. I'm trying to figure out if it's in front of Section 16 or Section 10 that the band goes on Stage B... Anyone have a guesstimate? I'm going with my friend, and maybe I should throw the idea out there of trying to upgrade our tickets since there's better seats available now? We're also making our own t-shirts, and I still haven't checked if we're allowed to take signs. I figured 'let me go all out since this will be the last time I'll get to see Coldplay, at least for a while,' haha! I hope all the Coldplayers have been doing great. I miss coming here :) Just a few more weeks, woot woot!

Is anyone like, upset after seeing them live?

Is anyone like, upset after seeing them live?
That's why I love this place! Because there's always going to be people in the same situation, LOL. Anywhere else, someone would say, "You've seen Coldplay four times already, why do you have to see more, especially in the same tour?" Here, people will say, "Nice! Are you getting there early? What other shows are you gonna try to make it to?!" I can't explain the dedication, lol. I love music, and I love Coldplay to pieces. From the first time time I saw them, I knew that I would try do everything I could to always listen to the music live. There's people here who are the same; they love the music, so a little travel doesn't even matter ;) I get down after seeing them live. The past four times I've heard Politik live, I think afterward, "well dammit, how am I supposed to listen to it now when i've heard and seen it LIKE THIS?" I'm counting down until the August 9 gig, but at the same time, I don't want it to be here, 'cos that signals the end, and it will be at least three years until I (and the other fans) get to do this again :( It's bittersweet, I guess that's the best way to describe it... Those going for the first time: Brace yourselves, it's an amazing experience!

Coldplay's Twitter
It would be the greatest thing to happen to music!! (unless Led Zeppelin went on tour). I wouldn't be surprised to someday see a side project featuring some of Coldplay and some of The Strokes though. Given that they're friends and all. But I can't even imagine what it would sound like... And what happened to Chris's arm? Do we know how he burned it? I hope he's okay!

Still cannot believe they are friends... !! Holy crap if The Strokes and Coldplay went on tour together...

[Interview/Article]Finally, interview with Guy Berryman by the very erdanton (the twitter guy)
The other Guy interview that was posted yesterday was much better than this one, just by the questions asked. ..There's a lot of "what do you feel about your music?" stuff in this one, which is surprising, considering he's writing a preview of the tour. What happened to asking questions about expectations for the tours, what fans could get a kick out of, any surprises planned, what they did last tour that they didn't want to do this tour, anything planned right after the tour ends, etc...Dammit, I should have written this, lol. (And on a side note, that New York Times critic is forever going to be known as the pretentious dude who used $50 sounding words to describe Coldplay to show that he's too cool to praise a band like that. He's a one phrase wonder, and I can't believe so many Coldplay articles feel the need to quote him.)

Coldplay's Twitter
LOL , it's official: Guy is a Twitter whore! He's hooked up with his mobile, right? So he can get on whenever. I'm waiting for a twitpic from the stage like "Chris is playing "the hardest part"". I predict one will see the light of day by the end of the tour! And I love the hairy Scottish chest, lol.

Guy Berryman: New album unlikely in 2009 due to touring (Hershey preview)
Thank you for that! I was wondering, because I remember the journalist interviewed Guy while they were still on break.
-
Coldplay's Twitter
You know, I saw all the tweets @Coldplay was getting when Guy was tweeting from NYC, and some people were leaving their phone numbers. "Hey, I'm in NYC too! Call me at 408590... and we can hang" Firstly, Guy is most likely not going to return your call. And by most likely I mean he definitely won't. Secondly, that's not even safe to put your phone number out in public like that!

Guy Berryman: New album unlikely in 2009 due to touring (Hershey preview)
This isn't the interview that resulted from that journalist tweeting some not-so-nice comments about having to chat to Guy instead of Chris, is it? Guy is officially the band's public information officer. I liked this, thanks for posting :)

Small Reminders/Updates on Coldplay.com (feat. Roadie #42!)
I've noticed Chris has been pretty into Bruce Springsteen lately, and in an interview or something about a week or so, he mentioned something about "I'm on Fire," which is my favorite of his songs... ...Anyone remember what interview this was? I can't remember what he said about it. (Also, I recommend "I'm on Fire." It's a very good song) Thanks :)
