Are "Book Reports" an American thing? They get them all the time on American TV shows, I've genuinely never had to read a book and then write about it, we studied them in class sure, but that was different to what this is.

That's why I found actually studying history to be so interesting, you get to hear the tale of the the "losers" rather than just the "winners", reading case studies from inside Germany was amazing. I think in this country we don't so much see it as the "war for democracy" thing, that's more an American thing, it was applied to Iraq as well, it's ludicrous. I've also met a holocaust survivor, he told us the tale of how he survived it was so sad and so inspiring at the same time. So I would be a massive fucking hypocrite and paying so little respect to him if I even considered that it wasn't to defeat "evil"

The art, the flags, the uniforms everything was so beautiful, I'd have loved to witness it with my own eyes, it's not the same seeing it in black and white photographs.
