I guess I must have just seen those 3 posts then + your fucking avatar. Yeah I think that situation made me really protective of my sister and we have a pretty good relationship with each other, we aren't weirdly close or anything, but I can't remember us ever fighting.

I saved my sisters life once and had to call 999, it was pretty traumatic and they were incredibly helpful on the phone telling me what to do and got here very quickly. The reason I have a problem with this thread is I've seen you mention about 1,000,000 times that you are getting your license, even posting pics in uniform, now you've made a thread just to tell more people.

Well then the question should be "Why are some films shit?" some directors have shit visions for things, look at Peter Jackson with The Lovely Bones, it's an absolutely horrid movie, everything about it was wrong. Plus going back to my first point theuy can try to be too loyal to the book and it doesn't work, using The Lovely Bones again, they try to develop all these smaller plotlines that were in the book, but never really fulfil them so by attempting to stick to the original content they make the film so much worse and ridiculous for everyone as people who have never read the book wont appreciate the effort gone in to make it match the original content and the people who have read it will complain that it's not developed enough. Some ideas just work better in certain formats.

Plus! If you are a fan of something, you generally aren't going to enjoy an interpretation of it that is different to the one you had in your head.

They are 2 drastically different formats, it's understandable that things that were brilliant in a book might not necessarily come across as well in a TV show/film, the best ones are often ones that take inspiration from a book rather than doing a word for word remake. Dexter for example, the books are really really bad, the show is great because it doesn't follow the book religiously.

I would not call Kid A a "collection of songs" that's what I'd call OK Computer and The Bends, they don't flow as albums, Kid A really does flow, it's an incredibly intricately worked out album that imo can only be listened to as an album.
