so you're having a great time at a coldplay concert. all the usual hits are being played and they all sound fantastic. then, all of the sudden, they go into that ONE song. the one song you've always wished you could hear live and you turn to your friend in a panic and say "no way! they're playing....." what song is it for you? for me... I'd have to say that hearing I Ran Away would just make the entire night.[/b]

I'll wait for word from the official site on this one but I hope it's not true. It does seem strange that they would pick a song they never play live. I do have to point out that I thinks it's great (and a little funny) how much thought we give to the moves this band makes. They are the biggest band in the world and we still question and debate what thier next single should be. It's like were all one very large managment firm! Heres to hoping that we're all following them for years to come and heres to hoping for some great b-sides!

whats up radioactive- ...as far as HYSTW being a b-side on the fourth single, did you hear anything that leads you to believe this- or is it just a quess?

pretty easy, if you could have any tracklisting you want, including the A- side and B-Sides, what would it be? Feel free to elaborate on why or just keep it simple. Here is mine... coldplay9027- Where did you hear that HYSTW will be on single #4? I wouldn't mind that at all. The Japanese version of X&Y is just way too expensive to buy for one song.

For me, it would be a toss up between In My Place and Speed of Sound. In my opinion those are the two that have it all... a great single track and 2 great b-sides. One I Love, TIDU, Proof, I bloom blaum... all terrific songs and all in nice contrast to both eachother and thier respective A- side. I would also agree that The Scientest is right up there as well. Yellow, with the beautiful Help Is Round the Corner, also deserves mention. I could discuss the merit of Coldplay b-sides all day long!

if you live in the states the dvd wont play in our players because they are region one and any dvds made in the uk are gonna be region two. the audio traks will play fine but the video will just be a waste. if its just the b sides that you want then you're in luck. there wille be an Australian version of the talk single, with both sleeping sun and gravity on it, released on jan. 19 or so. I always get mine off of e bay and if you catch it at the right time you can get some pretty good deals. the shipping isnt too bad either and most Austrailian sellers will take US dollars.

thanks for the quick reply KM. As long as the audio plays then it looks like it will be worth adding it to my collection. Or I might wait to see what the australian single has to offer (extra tracks like they had for clocks maybe?). Has anyone heard any word on australian cd/dvd tracklistings?

does anybody know if the dvd singles are regional like normal dvds? and if they are can you still listen to the audio tracks on a regular cd player or computer? I really want a copy of gravity but Im afraid the disc wont work here in the US. thanks.

I posted this on a thread in the b-sides forum but figured I'd put ithere as well where more people could see it and, possibly, get to the bottom of it. as for the new Japanese version of X&Y, the one with the white cover, I found this... according to amazon.com it is just a "lower-priced" new prining of the album. looking at the tracklisting you'll see that the bonus songs are the same... TKK/HYSTW. Twisted Logic is now Twisted Logic Silence . Corricopat- I can't help you with Radio Times, but I can as far as some other publications go, I might be able to. I'm not sure what the major chains are on the east coast but in Chicago we have Borders and Barnes and Nobles... both carry magazines that they import from the UK. I've seen NME and Q there plus a few others. I think we get NME about a week late. They cost around $5 or you can just hang out ad read them there. There is a good chance that you know all this already but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Im still waiting for my SOS single to come in the mail. In the mean time could someone tell me who the producer was on the second and third tracks. Im thinking that we'll see some abandoned Ken Nelson tracks as b-sides.

forgive my asking, I'm unable to download the old version at the moment- but what is the main difference between the two, besides the lyrics of course. I love the ending of the studio version but am just curious about the original.

In the tracklisting over on amazon.co.uk they have 'Til Kingdom Come listed as a hidden 13th track. This could be an assumption on thier part based on the fact that we have been hearing about the song for a while now and it was the only one, that we have heard of anyway, not put on the album. 13 songs seems a bit heavy but you never know. I was on the amazon site for Japan and it says, as someone has noted, that the Japanese version of X&Y wll have 2 extra tracks. It aso has a listing for an exclusive Speed of Sound EP. I'm wondering if the SOS UK b-sides will be the same as the two we have read about. Plus, it goes without sayng, I wonder what the 2 extra album tracks will be. My guess is something live. I don't see them just throwng extra tracks onto an album they have worked so hard to perfect. Then again, it may be the record company's choice.
