  1. I think it depends on how far off the album is. If it's still a few months away and the band thinks that the song has failed in any way (keep in mind I like the song) then they could decide to drop it from the tracklisting and write it off as a one off single. Even if they could though I'm not sure they would do this. If they are in the stages where the album is already being manufactured then it is, of course, too late for any such changes. As of now I am thinking it will be...
  2. Strong 7 to a Light 8 10+ listens... Really enjoying this track. It's gonna be EPIC live and just feels like a windows down radio up summer anthem. Will it go down as one of Coldplay's most important/relevant songs... too early to tell of course... but it does leave me feeling good about the album to come. Also, with how much media attention and promotion this song has gotten combined with the overall popularity Coldplay already has and the commercial nature (in my opinion) of this song I have a feeling that it is going to be a MASSIVE hit. well done Coldplay!
  3. this is very exciting!!! ... and now i'm ready to accept my award for most obvious post of the yaer!
  4. I remember going through all these same things right before both Speed of Sound and Violet Hill came out. This only comes every three years and i'm loving every minute of it! I have a feeling that this song (and this album) are going to be very special and when people look back at this time in the band's history it will be seen as a major turning point. I think they take it to the next level with this one...
  5. Aw sorry. I always try to read through a thread as best as I can before posting something I think is new but with things moving as fast as they are it's a little harder then normal!
  6. THIS WAS POSTED IN ANOTHER THREAD (COLDPLAY LIVE MOVIE- PAGE 19) THE POSTER ONLY HAS 3 POSTS BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD PASS IT ON TO THIS THREAD. AGAIN... THIS IS NOT MY ORIGINAL POST. "Listen , I GOT NEWS, a friend of mine that works on radio one said that he already listened to the song, that it has a radiohead - bass style , similar to the song "where I end and you begin " from radiohead, whit a fast beat and a clear bass, he says is sensational, it is expecting over 20 plays tomorrow, and something else, aparently the name of the new album, acording to him, COULD be Monday Morning , that would explain the MM on the exibition room and the "MONDAY" that is painted in the wall of one of the newest pictures of coldplay , where the bassist is sitting in like a window, that is all, and he said it could be a big change for coldplay but seems to go to a good direction, thats pretty much all I know, and i singed in just for you to know..." WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  23. As we all wait for new album news I thought it would be interesting to create a thread that people can sign EVERY time they check the site for news. I know that I for one check at least 5 times a day and would love to see that I'm not alone! Just a simple "checking in" will do whenever you look. Let's just see how much we are all on here! I will start... Checking In!
  24. When you look back at the history of recorded music out of the many bands that have come and gone there are always a few that define (and are the most strongly associated with) the time they come from. From The Beatles and Stones in the 60s to Pink Floyd and Led Zep in the 70s all the way to U2 and REM in the 80s and Nirvana and Pearl Jam in the 90s...* In your most honest opinion on the landscape of modern music (not just what bands are your own personal favorite) what bands do you see as being the future "iconic" bands of our era and why? 2000-2010? 2010-2020? Who has the popularity and musical importance to be so lasting? *the examples that I used are just that... examples. Without doubt there are people that will not agree with them but a debate on the most important bands of those eras is not the pont of this thread.
