CHAPTER 1 - BEFORE THE GIG I woke up really excited and happy just thinking in the night. At the morning my friend Alicia called me to tell me that maybe she and David (his partner, also my friend) weren’t gonna go to the gig because of the money. They wanted to try re-selling the tickets. I understood them but felt really sad and down. The day didn’t begin really well... :/ In the afternoon I had to go to my new job to do the training course and I finished it at 6 pm. The place is just in the back of the venue. It was horrible just standing there trying to learn something and thinking that the guys were just in the back street!! :stunned: When I arrived there were some people there but the band was already inside, doing the soundcheck. Now, seeing some pics a girl took with them I’ve realized that they were there around 5.15 pm... Damn it damn nit!! They should have waited for me!! Well, I heard part of the soundcheck, about 15 minutes, only ‘Happy to hang around’. Around 6.30 pm a lot of journalists came inside the venue to do interviews and I decided to go to a bar and wait for my other friend, Monica. She arrived at 7.30 pm and we went to the venue. The queue was reaaaaaally long and we waited about 1 hour until the doors opened. Then I felt scared. I know that the security staff of this venue is really strict and cameras are never allowed. And I had two in my bag. The digi camera is really small and I could hide it, but not the normal camera, bigger. When I arrived at the beginning of the queue the guy looked a bit inside the bag, took it , and felt it. Then I heard the other security guy telling to a girl that she can’t come with a camera. The guy with my bag doubted a bit, looked at my eyes and let me come in. Pheeeeew, saved!! Lucky me!! :D :D

Mmmmh, I have to admit that Catalan is very important here. Spanish and Catalan are co-official languages in Catalonia. Everyone learn it at school, it's used in enterprises, official buildings, transport, education... it's totally introduced in our way of life. I think you told me you'd like to come here to work. Well, everyone here speaks spanish, of course. But catalan is really used here, it would be good if you learn it. But I think it's not very difficult if you speak spanish. I live in a neighbourhood in the west of the city. It's not an outskirt because it's the own city, but it's not the centre, of course. But it's a beatiful place, calm and quiet. I love it!! More than 100 years ago this place was a town, but when Barcelona began to grow it became part of the city.

Universitat? Qué estudias? Filologia? No me digas que mates...
  10. I had two setlists from some USA show, but I can't find it now... I could remember, more or less, the songs they played in Barcelona, but not the order. Let's see: Happy to hang around (1st song of the show) All I wanna do is rock Writing to reach you The fear (mmmh, not pretty sure) As you are Driftwood Turn Why does it always rain on me? (last song) Sing Side Flowers in the window (aaaaaaaaah, you're gonna die when you'll hear it!!) The Humpty Dumpty love song Quicksand Beautiful occupation Re-offender Peace the fuck out How many hearts Somewhere else Love will come through I'm missing one... can't remember if it's The cage :dozey: Anyways, enjoy it!!! :D :D :D

You studied in Granada? What did you studied? Wow, I've never been in but all the people tell me that it's a beautiful city, specially La Alhambra. I must go someday. Yeah, Gaudi's architecture is very peculiar, but original and cool. I really like Park Güell and also La Pedrera. The tourists get crazy about the Sagrada Familia, it's really funny!! In fact, it's a cathedral, although it doesn't like like that. :D Aaaah, las Ramblas is one of the best places, and also one of the most known. Manic Street Preachers also mention it in a song... ;). And the seaport is beautiful too.  Bocatta!! You ate that!! Everyone eat that when you haven't money. I always do it!! It's this kind of fast-food like MacDonals, but they cook sandwiches. And yeah they're really good.

  13. Santakemolaaaaaaa!!! Hotmail? Sí, sí que tengo... :sneaky:

La Pedrera is in the Paseo de Gracia, in a corner. It's a curious building with a waving shape. I'm sure you visited it, it's really typical. You studied here in Barcelona? When? Yeeeah, it is a very beautiful city. All the visitors love it. And, Gisela, your spelling was perfect!! :D Yeah, the guys stayed here the next day after the gig. Well, that's what the bus driver told me. Their next gig was Berlin and they had a day off. Damn it!! I'd like to meet them somewhere... :bigcry: :bigcry:
