  2. Now, who can bump it down another week? :)
  3. How can Coldplaying.com confirm it's true? Have you guys heard the track, too, and just can't say anything?
  4. I REALLY want to believe you. It's interesting though that you can't remember a single lyric - the one element which would prove you'd heard the track.
  5. If you’re like me, you're really eager for album news. So...to fill in the time I’ve been going over old entries/articles to see if I could piece together a little timeline about track history. I don’t have too much, but did find a few cool things which I thought some fellow-bored fans might be interested in. December 2003 42 A charity plate drawn by Coldplay with the message "Johnny’s Solo on 42". Early 2006 Death and All His Friends Guy revealed in an interview that the new album title would have five words in it. At this stage, the title was probably Death and All His Friends. I’m guessing Chris didn’t tack Viva La Vida on to the front of it until 2007. September 2007 Prospekt entry confirms Violet Hill, Cemeteries of London, Yes! and Lost. Origins unknown. December 2007 Prospekt confirms Lovers in Japan and Strawberry Swing. Origins unknown. February 2008 Rolling Stone confirms Life in Technicolour and Reign of Love. Origins unknown. April 2006 Prospekt confirms Viva La Vida. Could be Famous Old Painters...which would mean it was written in October 2007. So that’s really it – I hope it quenched your album thirst for a solid two minutes! On a side note, I went back and read the Prospekt entry from September where he/she (though I’m sure it’s Phil!) confirmed the working track titles. You’ll all remember the blacked out tracks that provided hours of Photoshop fun. Reading through the Billboard article, I think I’ve got a fair idea what a few now are. You can actually make them out when you know what they are: I’d say the second one down is The Goldrush, third one down is Lukas, and I’m positive the bottom one is Postcards From Far Away. The top one....V...? Who knows :) Andy
  6. It's not a hoax. Slender Fungus obviously don't have security as a number one priority. First the screenshots, now this...
  7. Are those 14 the same as the one's you can play on the site? I've scrolled through a few times and thought there were only about 8-10 in the flash player. Don't feel like downloading all of them above, but none of them is the *actual CP song*, right?
  8. I have to disagree on both points, but I know there are plenty of people that think Prospekt's March was never a song.
  9. I think it'll be like Everything's Not Lost/Life is for Living. From Billboard: "...tacked onto the final song, "Death and All His Friends," as a hidden track dubbed "The Escapist." EDIT: Sorry - didn't see your edit when I started the reply!
  10. I only became a huge fan post-X&Y, but I think they released: Gravity, Proof, The World Turned Upside Down and Things I Don't Understand. They were out with the various singles.
  11. I'm so sure Phil is Prospekt now - Chris mentioning that it was "the seven of us" in the studio.

My guess is 42. It seems to be a linchpin song, and seems to have been existence for quite some time. I really enjoyed Bucket for a Crown, but I don’t think we’ll ever be hearing it again. I doubt it was even ever finished. Though then again, they did say that at the start of 2007 a whole lot of songs were scrapped. Perhaps it was on of those scrapped ones and work on it halted. That tracklisting that came out recently was just a copy/paste from the Rolling Stone article and has no bearing on the final tracklisting. The real one is long overdue.
  13. My heart nearly skipped a beat. Grr.
  14. There are plenty of sites that have posted “tracklistings”, mostly just copied and pasted from the list of songs we’ve heard about so far. I don’t believe this for a second. Mainly because there is no Famous Old Painters, a track which appears to be crucial. Secondly, Violet Hill is on the list, and RS said they were giving it away instead.
  15. Working for me :( I got excited there for a minute!
  16. wasn't it just a joke?
  17. Judging from the website we saw, I think we can assume Chinese Sleep Chant, Death and All his Friends and Famous Old Painters are on the record. My guess for the "core" six Rolling Stone mentioned are: - Death and All His Friends - Chinese Sleep Chant - Famous Old Painters - Yes - 42 - Cemeteries of London
  18. DAAHF. Remember back in 2005 (or 6?) Guy said the album title they had planned had 5 words. Perhaps they're still considering that "original title". Or maybe not :p Anyhow, I like it better that VLV.
  19. Good good. Didn't miss anything :) Real Player took too bloody long to d/l.
  20. Listening to Radio 1 now. Have they mentioned it yet?
  21. I think there are two distinct possibilities. The silence means: a) The album is done and ready, and will be released in May. With that, we’ll probably have a Prospekt update in the next few weeks that has a plethora of information: title, artwork, track listing, release date, single news, video news. This would make a May/June release entirely plausible. If everything is ready now, they could just be holding out to release all the information at once in a lump post. b) May was the estimated release date back in January/February, but Chris’ had another burst of creativity and has a whole new bank of songs. That means more recording, more mixing and messing with the track listing. If that’s the case, we’d be looking at a release later in the year and perhaps the odd bit of information released over the next few months.
  22. Brilliant news! The thing that suprised me was no mention of Famous Old Painters and Glass of Water.

I think "Prospekt's March" is a song for a number of reasons. Firstly, "March" is capitalised - if it was referring to the album's progress, then it wouldn't be. Secondly, the blog talks specifically about the song's mix - to me, it just doesn't read correctly if you were to think about it as album progress. In that case, it’d have to refer to the mix of the album as a whole. Everywhere else, the band talks about the mixing of individual tracks. Just my two cents, anyway.
