it was still a really nice thing to do. it sounds good too, thanks a lot for that. i'll have to download audacity and start using it for everything I record. (until hissing and popping becomes a really cool thing to have in your music anyway) for now I'm worrying about how to make the sound quality of the video I've got to send in for the contest good enough. it seems everything I record has the worst quality :P hopefully the idea will still come across :confused: anyway - thanks a lot for that again, was really cool of you :nice:

I agree ! that's an amazing picture. I never noticed how much they look like giant colored lightbulbs sometimes. I know people have been saying that they obstruct the view sometimes... but they just look so cool.

There's unfortunately a lot of hissing and popping on anything I record. I have one mic plugged into my computer, and then I play/sing into that, and it does often record with really bad quality (sorry about that :P ) Its the only way I've got to record at the moment, but I completely agree.. the hissing and popping gets really annoying. So I'd love to hear a clean version! Its really sweet that you'd take the time to do that :nice: Wow. Any way most convenient for you is fine with me. I've been using sendspace a lot recently, and its been working well for everyone I guess. But I can pm you my e-mail too if that'd work better. Thanks a lot (: M.

:laugh3: I always love what you have to say. I've been lurking about the 'green economics' thread lately.. I haven't got a sound enough head to say anything about it, but its still really fascinating. I agree with the bit about it being just human culture and editing. Historically, some of the things mentioned in the Bible correspnded with things happening on Earth at the time, and I can never work out if its really what was meant to be included in the scripture, or if officials just wanted it in there to control their people. I don't know if I agree with the perfection thing though. It is said that we're made in His image, and I think when we still held the key to Eden, we probably were perfect, but once our free will sent us out of Eden (by choosing to eat that silly fruit) I think we became slightly tarnished. We have the capacity to sin, thus I don't know if we'd ever be able to achieve perfection. I'm sure the Pope sins occasionaly. Its human nature. Its what seperates us from God? I don't know what I'm talking about really. Its interesting though. I like it. Maybe I'm a weirdo too :nice: M.

Oh I know exactly how you feel. I was brought up non-denominational Christian (or as my dad would like to call it - the youth club for hippies) *grins* Its was a really casual, positive form of religion. Almost a bit watered down.. I remember going to a friend's Catholic church once and being completely blown away by it. Anyway as I grew older, I started noticing that an awful lot of classmates and their familes that went to my church on sundays, weren't always acting like they had any faith throughout the week. People were getting divorces, swearing, having sex, doing drugs, getting drunk, being judgemental, vandalizing, not showing people any respect, etc. It really bothered and confused me. I stopped going to church, and even though I tried going to others around town, its always been the same experience. But I still believed in God, so it was difficult to just let go of that entire part of my life, just because of other people's actions. Much much later, I realized that there will always be hypocrites within whichever faith you choose, be it Christianty, Judaism, Buddism, etc, and that you can't let it get in the way of you keeping your own faith healthy. I suppose its quite a selfish way of thinking, but it really is first and foremost about your own relationship with God, and that while you should try and help lead other people down a faithful path, its their own choice for whether or not they'll keep their actions in accordance. If you're really into it, there's some things in the Bible that talk about hypocrisy that might be helpful... (I won't type them all out) :nice: Amos 5:21-24 Isaiah 29:13-14 and 58:3-14 I'm sure there's more, but these are the ones I know of now. For now, because it does get so confusing.. and gets me just a little freaked out about whether or not I'm doing the right things or not.. I tend to just work very hard at being a good, respectful person, and I hope that that is enough. I pray and read my Bible, and try to set some kind of example. I still don't go to church. I can't work up enough faith on my own yet to stop other's lack of it from bothering me. But hopefully one day I can get to be that strong. Eek ! This turned quite rambly, sorry about that :blush: It just touched a nerve. I don't often get to talk religion with people.. unfortunately most of my friends are awfully stubborn in that respect, haha. Good luck though, thanks for starting a thread like this. (: M.

I was playing around with recording a video last night - many tech difficulties.. my bedroom wasn't quiite big enough to have more than 2/3 of me in the frame :P but I think I've got it worked out now, so that'll be around soon ish. I've been having just the tinkly piano start the song, and then come in with my guitar at the first chorus. It creates a little bit of a build I think :thinking: I also wrote a little part to sing over the piano solo piece, and I think it might also give it some more punch before the song ends with that last quiet piano riff. My camcorder doesn't pick up individual sound that well, so I think the more I add on to the song, the more muddy it'll start sounding. So I'm going to try it like this ^ I think. And then I'll take heart the comments you might have and change it around accordingly. I really mean it though, I feel really welcomed around here all of a sudden :nice: Thanks (again, again) for helping me out with this. It means an awful lot to me. (: M.

it is just me :embarassed: I'm hard pressed to find anybody in my town who wants to make more than screamo emo music. And I'm a terrible scream-singer :P and - congrats on the 700th post! I feel a little bit a part of that, discussing the weird way our voices sound on recording earlier :laugh3:

*grins* next week, annd, I'll let you know. it'll be amazing if I even get chosen as one of the possibles to be honest. as far as I can tell, a radio station in san francisco will choose 15 artists out of all of the entrees from our region, then the public votes on those 15 artists, which will whittle it down to 3 artists. And then Coldplay chooses one of those out of the 3 remaining. I sincerely doubt I'll get that far, but its something fun and exciting to try for anyway. At the very least this is all good practice :nice:

oh I'm a massive fan of KT Tunstall, I'm sure she's going to show up in a lot of things I do :P As for things like violins and orchestras.. that'd definitely be wishful thinking on my part. I'd love to have that, but you have to remember I'm one girl in one small bedroom. Most of the things I'd like to do are just a tiny bit out of reach at the moment. I tried adding on some strings from my keyboard, but I think it sounded kind of silly (i.e. you could really tell they were from my keyboard :nice: ) I'm going to try and have a video on hand by this evening, and maybe it'll be clearer to see where I'm going wrong, and maybe what I could try doing to help it. I know must've said it a billiion times now, but really, thanks for taking an interest. I wouldn't have a lot of input otherwise, and also it seems as if it'd be more objective here. My parents will tell me it sounds nice no matter what :P So again, thanks bunches!
