I'm the friend who told him to join!@!IO#$I#$% I'm also drunk... but thats beside the point.... halo, thanks for joining...
  8. yeah, its puzzling... some people just like to cause a stir... In that case, I'd be going to a whole lot of forums and posting about how I dont like the band...
  9. Music evolves even faster than technology does, so its pointless to compare a band of today with a band of yesterday... For instance, its insane to compare Coldplay to the Rush or even the Beatles, who paved the way for bands like Coldplay. Rock is such a vague concept anyway these days when there's so many different styles out there, comparing artists only makes music a competitive sport, not an art... Plus, someone who isnt Coldplay cant say that Coldplay doesnt perform with passion. I think its great that a band like them is in their position, otherwise, we'd be stuck with the radio spoon-feeding us crap pop music thats made by the industry, not the artist. Meanwhile, Coldplay write all their material (which is less common nowadays). Its great that we have a band like Coldplay on top, unless you prefer Justin Timberlake or Nelly. I'm not suggesting that you're not entitled to your opinion, I dont care if you dislike Coldplay, I'm just trying to clarify that it is logical that a lot of other people like them. As a musician, I've become more supportive of artists of all genres, seeing as how they have to deal with critics 24/7. Thats just my 2 cents. By the way, Welcome to the board. If you stay, thats great. We're all friendly here, and wont hold it against you if you're not a fan.
  10. I think they did a good job covering it, I'm not a fan of the band, but the song sounds really good... but I'm partial to the original, its a timeless song... In fact... I'm thinking about covering it... hah...
  11. thanks a lot, you have no idea how much I appreciate that... I guess you could say I am my own worst critic... but I strive to prove myself wrong, thats why I'm so passionate about this, I want to prove to myself that I'm not just "nobody"
  12. LOL! thats great, I didnt notice that... thats odd
  13. uh, famous? lol... I dunno about that...
  14. :D :D :D :D :D thanks alot guys... Yes, I'm more than happy to ship overseas... As long as I have people who want my demo, lol... Anyway, I'm not sure how much it costs to ship, so in the end, it'd be $5 plus shipping...
  15. they should be illegal...
  16. I've had "Dont Dream It's Over" stuck in my head all day... the Crowded House version though...
  17. Yes, finally another song... I've been in the studio working on a 5-song demo, and I recorded the first song... Note: The song isnt finished, I still need to get the cellist to record her part. I recorded a digital cello part to try and give people the idea of what I want the song to sound like when its finished. The studio also has a program that will let me turn the digital cello part into sheet music, so all I have to do is hand it to the cellist and she'll do her part. So when you listen to the song, imagine real cello. Its also off-beat in a few parts, but it doesnt matter, I'm not going to put this version on the LP. http://www.chadyochum.com/mp3/Chad%20Yochum%20-%20Make%20It%20Happen.mp3 Hope you guys like it... if you do, please sign my guestbook, or join my forum, the link is in my sig...
  18. Ever make mixes? Post your favorite compilations here... or even create a compilation based on the rules I used for making mine... I started making my own soundtracks to movies that dont exist... I'd be interested to see what your mix-tapes would be like... Try this one... "If My Life Were A Movie: The Drama" What I do is set up a pattern for each mix. With the soundtracks, I arrange the tracks in order that they would be played in the movie, starting off with the Title Screen song, and the final scene / roll credits song... In this mix, I picked six artists, and two song by each artist... you can either use my guidelines, or make up your own... 1) Travis - Side 2) Doves - Far From Grace 3) Elbow - Powder Blue 4) Coldplay - The Scientist 5) Doves - Sea Song 6) Sigur Ros - Untitled Track 5 7) South - Between the Lines (Back Again) 8) Coldplay - We Never Change 9) Sigur Ros - Untitled Track 3 10) Elbow - Asleep in the Back (Bonus Track) 11) South - Paint the Silence 12) Travis - Driftwood
