Coldplay on the 25th anniversary of Q-magazine
My order went through . I actually can't wait to read about what all the other bands have to say, too :wacky:

Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)
I need to learn more about the timeline of physical production. Like, how long does it actually take to make a few thousand CDs in a group of factories? I wonder if they're being made now, or if we still have a week or two to wait before they spit out on conveyor belts, because that's when it's going to leak. I have a feeling they've either already started or will next week or so. I'm certainly looking forward to a leak of this album, but I'm not totally rabid about it like some people are. I'm not sure if that has something to do about hearing so many tracks so far or not being the biggest fan of the new-model Coldplay...but Dave Holmes's method kind of backfired on me, I think :disappointed:

I ordered mine on the 15th, so I guess I have a few more days to wait.

Viva leaked on June 4, and the Japanese release was June 11. They started streaming it on the website on June 5, after the leak.

Coldplay on the 25th anniversary of Q-magazine
Well, I tried to order it, but after I clicked "submit" it just sat there processing my order for two hours, so if nothing's taken off my card as of tomorrow, I'll try again :dozey:. I'm still resisting reading it, but maybe I will, since there will be a lot of other worthy artists to read about inside and spoiling one of them won't make it not worth my money. Guy has a sister? Dude, didn't know that one.

THANK YOU FOR THE SCANS, MICH  I'm torn between reading it now via your lovely scans and ordering it myself to add to my ~collection~ But I read about three lines while looking at the picture and cracked up, so I think I just have to order it :P

Apparently I missed another chance to buy tickets via WASTE today...the music gods really don't want me seeing them this week :bigcry:. Watching Colbert just made me despair more over it

Will Mylo Xyloto leak? ** EFFECTIVE 16-10 LINKS NOT PERMITTED ** (PART I)
Empty case, probably with a printout of the album cover on the inside. They're in the process of being produced, or will be shortly, so there's no way that was a real thing.

I think we're getting near the time when we should be looking. A lot of albums that are set to be released only a week before MX have started to leak, and one or two from that week itself, I think, so we're getting close, dudes

That was so fantastically brilliant :wacky:. I loved everything about Thom.

It's an hour-long special, I think it's more than just an interview and a song, I think they're kind of co-hosting in a way too. I'm interested to see how this turns out :P

Limited edition pop-up Album cost?
Someone mentioned earlier that there's a downloads section of your account with MerchDirect, so it'll probably come through there. I think they'll probably email us on the 24th directing us to that section of our accounts to download it. I don't know if you were did the free Violet Hill download in 2008 (which was a mess :P), but basically they emailed everyone with a link to a section of a website where the download was waiting for you, and I think this will be similar

Radiohead
You could buy a car or send a kid to private school for a year on that. Even if I were wealthy, absurdly wealthy, I don't think I would blow that much on a show. Even a farewell gig for one of my favorite bands ever, the type LCD Soundsystem did this year, I think that as long as I wasn't going to starve myself, the absolute MAX I'd pay for a single ticket to something like that for someone that owned my soul (i.e., Coldplay or The Strokes only) would be about $1000. And I'd feel absolutely ridiculous about it, too.

The prices are way too ridiculous, so no, I won't be. SIGH :bigcry:. I just thought with all the rules about will-call and once you pick up the tickets you HAVE to enter the venue, it would at least help the scalper situation, but judging by polls and gripes on Twitter, very few actual fans got tickets for the predetermined price. I live about an hour away from the city, so it would have been very easy to go, I go in all the time for concerts and stuff. At least they're on the Colbert Report tonight, but it's going to sting to watch :P

Radiohead
I have a WASTE membership :bigcry:. Oh well, that's my own fault for not paying close enough attention. So many bands, some things just get lost in the shuffle . Doubt I would have gotten them anyway, I know those are just as hard to get, scalpers or not.

Radiohead
I'm not as with the Radiohead fanbase as I am with other groups, as much as I love them...just out of curiosity, where was the presale and who was it for? Was it one of those that you had to be a member of something to participate?

Anybody try to get tickets to the Roseland Ballroom shows? I got up early and was there the second it opened, and...nothing. Almost everyone's in the same boat, it's madness and I just want to punch things :bigcry: Pairs are going for up to $16,000 on eBay so far:

Predict your rating for Mylo Xyloto
You think? I did take a major hiatus from the board for a year or so, but I thought Viva was pretty well recepted by most people here, without much bashing. Maybe I just haven't been looking for it. I love it for what it is, it just isn't exactly what I look for in a great album. In that sense, I like that it still works its way into my heart completely without doing the things that I usually cite as genius. I agree about a bridge to MX, though. With that release, I pretty much could tell what direction they were going to head in--I guess I just didn't think it would be this radio-poppy.

I don't know if that phrase was a good one. I don't mean like, similarity or variation between songs, I mean that all the songs work towards achieving or contributing towards a greater goal or getting across a general feel or idea. I think that's why I'm not as big on VLV...I find it very scattered, an eclectic collection of completely different things that have little to do with each other, whereas the previous three albums are definitely more ALBUMS to me, in terms of feel and ideas. I have a feeling that MX is going to be more of a VLV-type thing than an AROBTTH or X&Y-type thing, despite the fact that they're hailing it as a store. Of course, I think this is a very personal thing, depending on preferences. And I might make a list on your user profile--I've been way too good at hijacking threads lately to usurp this one too :P

Limited edition pop-up Album cost?
I'm too lazy to go find the post I made about it earlier, but it kind of has to be that way, given the definition of "limited edition" these days. It'll be a nice Christmas present! :D

Limited edition pop-up Album cost?
I really think it's only the digital copy in October, then the rest in December. I actually had to check to make sure the CD was in the box set, I didn't think it was originally, but that would be kind of stupid :P

Predict your rating for Mylo Xyloto
I guess to me that a "perfect" album (or at least a really, really great album--I feel like I only have 3 or 4 albums that are actually perfect to me) doesn't necessarily mean that every single song on the album absolutely blows me away. A lot of albums that I call my absolute favorites have one dud, sometimes even two, that I like much less than the rest of the songs. For example, Julian Casablancas's Phrazes For The Young will forever be one of the best albums in the world in my opinion, but two of the songs (and there are only 8!) are just not for me. I guess in general, I just take albums on the whole, rather than how much each separate song ranks and contributes to its merit. It has to do with flow and coherence and themes to me . Maybe that's why I feel like I like X&Y more than most people seem to. Even though it's overly long and samey, and it's certainly not my favorite work of theirs, I think something it does very well is keep up common ideas and sonic themes.

 I forgot about the 30-day thing, haha. Thanks! I still have like two weeks left in that window--I ordered on 15 September.
