  1. It seems to vary from retailer to retailer what date they're putting down. Next time I have cause to edit the calendar I'll probably change it, along with fixing the spelling of "Taratata"
  2. It's not the one with Pink Floyd on the cover, is it? Because I still haven't gotten that one mailed to my house, I don't think, but I can't find the review in the PDF online. Anyway, yeah, like said earlier, I'm a subscriber so once it's online or it shows up at my house I can help out if no one gets on it first :D
  3. This is getting to be later than I expected, but it's still prime time, I guess, so I'm not worried. If it doesn't come out by like, Saturday night my time, though, I'm going to be pretty surprised.
  4. Oh LORD, people are already queueing?! I figured as much. WHY COULDN'T THEY DO THIS LIKE FOUR MONTHS EARLIER WHEN I WAS STILL A STUDENT THERE? On one hand, I'm worried about getting a ticket for me (via friends from here, I'm definitely worried about THEM getting tickets for themselves), but I guess I'll save a lot of money if it's not meant to be, even though my heart will be pulverized to bits :P
  5. I agree that I think those estimates are low and that this might be their record-breaker seller, but I'm interested to see how all their relentless promo cashes in for them this time around. I think it's either going to majorly pay off or be a slight disappointment in that this record sells slightly less (at least when it matters: at first) or just the same as the others without as much promotion. Either way, I'm just personally not a huge fan of premiering new tracks live first, and wonder what it does to album expectations for the greater public.
  6. UGH, it's out a lot of countries on the 21st :P. I'll try and fit Ireland in the next time I update it, but the 21st is so crowded I might just change the whole thing to "various countries."
  7. I put my money (figuratively) on today, so I've got my fingers crossed! This was the day that VLV leaked before the Japanese release, if we're going on number of days before release. I think it's likely that we're going to see it in the next few days, if not today.
  8. Can I see a source on the change of date? When you google "Mylo Xyloto US release," everything that comes up still says the 25th :\
  9. UGH, you have to be a subscriber? This is the day before my birthday and I could totally go because it's in NYC, but...no subscription.
  10. Thanks! :nice: I didn't really think of doing one this time around because there didn't seem to be as much going on, but Ian asked me to yesterday, and today they announced like 10 more things they were doing :dozey: I do think that "promoting" is a strong word--I don't think that's what they're doing at all. For me, the subject matter just makes me uncomfortable in such a popular song, most people ignoring them or not. I agree that's true that most people don't pay attention to those things, but I don't know, the way it comes off in that song is just odd to me, ironic or not.
  11. I don't mind the song or the band, even though I don't get the crazy hype, but this is the thought I can't shake every time I hear the song. Glad I'm not the only one.
  12. I think the way Colbert works is that you request tickets via the website within a certain time window (usually months in advance) and they assign you a date...but I could be wrong because I've never done it myself. Once I was 18 and old enough to go, I wasn't in the country long enough to attempt getting in, and now I just actually haven't thought about doing it.
  13. Yeah, they're definitely taking over, it's kind of ridiculous, but at least it's all so far in venues that musicians do all the time. I don't think musicians do ALL of them like Coldplay's doing, but at least they're not going on completely random shows that have nothing to do with music yet or anything. But I do feel like there's a balance between too much promo and too little, and I hope they don't tip too far over onto the "too much" side for their sakes. I feel like they're already so well known that they don't need to push it in everyones' faces so much that they've got a new album coming out. Oh, Dave Holmes.
  14. ^I actually think they probably kind of are :worried:
  15. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89112  PS: I haven't checked, but I think some of those stations have the option of listening live online.
  16. Thanks for this! Was going to create a thread but you beat me to it :D
  17. Updated for the FIFTH time today with all the new CBS info found here: http://www.cbsradio.com/press_center/releases/pressrelease140114-10-11-2011.html This band is trying to kill me :P
  18. It's like they're trying to make my life hard now, they just announced radio stuff via CBS :bomb:
  19. No, Coldplay were only on the Daily Show, never on Colbert :D Unless I'm having some sort of massive brain fart, that is.
  20. Updated! That's the third time today...if anything else happens today I might just wait til tomorrow unless it's HUGE news :P
  21. No problem! :D And I don't think they fly commercial when they're doing record promo like this, but if they did, they'd have enough to fly around the world for free for the rest of their lives!
  22. Great, now I'm stressed about this VIP thing  THIS BAND IS THE GREATEST CREATOR OF STRESS IN MY LIFE.
  23. OK, got it, updating in a bit...and I decided to put the Colbert Report in with a question mark.
  24. I support what the UEA guy said--I was a student there, and I would see diehard fans queueing for certain bands sometimes, but this is COLDPLAY...I think all of East Anglia is going to come out for this to try and get tickets because no one this big comes to East Anglia. This is a huge deal for the town and the uni, so expect masses of people. There's also a Norwich FC match that Saturday, I think, so even more people will be in town, including the night before, than usual, who might have eyes on going to see Coldplay. Jojo, you're my hero
  25. OMG CONGRATS! I just did too, fingers MAJORLY crossed! When did you apply? I checked yesterday and didn't see those forms, but I hope I didn't apply too late. I did the same, I just wrote "I would like to bring one guest" (and filled one out for my mom, too), but I hope that's enough. Eeek! I felt like I needed to write an essay about my love for Coldplay :P
