hmm, i wonder if they all decided to turn up. but will and guy (especially guy) aren't morning people...jonny and especially chris are probably the only ones that agreed to come. at the today show later in the month, i'm planning to have a good laugh at guy. how much do you want to bet he'll be wearing sunglasses and barely moving on the stage? :laugh4: i think it'll just be jonny and chris, and they're just saying "coldplay" to make it sound cooler.

yeah, between 30 and 40 mins until they're on! :D wheeeeeeee! yeah, i'm leaning towards Q as well, assuming it works for me :P. i've been having some toolbar troubles in the past day :dozey:. but YES, someone PLEASE record because i can't hear the whole thing! if they're not on until an hour into it, i can't listen at all :sad: someone better have an ear on zane for the announcement, though!

i said 3* because the music was very well performed, absolutely BRILLIANT for their first performance in over a year!! and i really, really hate to say it, but it was chris's nervousness and how it showed in his voice brought the thing down :sad: that said, for a first performance, that's completely expected, and i think that was fine. i think we just got all pumped up with excitement about seeing them again and some of us were initially let down a bit, but we understand now :D. i just hope the guys (chris, really) aren't too hard on themselves :D

i think it's interesting how many RADIO appearances the guys are doing, of all things. i mean, radio isn't exactly as big as it used to be. but there are THREE coldplay apperances on radio today! i was expecting WAY more TV appearances and less radio appearances, but i find the radio vigils really fun when i do it with all you guys :nice: though now that Q radio is on the toolbar, assuming it works, i have to decide between that and zane lowe for later, and i have to stop listening after an hour to go pick up my brother...hmm.

frankly, i'm surprised they didn't get slammed! i mean, it was off and pretty bad by comparison when you look at all their other performances, but i think WE'RE all ok with that. i figured bloggers and critics would have their heads on silver plates (:P), but this was nice!! :D thanks for the link.

i've been listening to UK radio sooo much lately that american radio is disorienting (and terrible). i mean, my own accent is throwing me off! :laugh4: only british voices have been coming out of my speakers for ages!

at least it's not two hours! i'm fine with one hour. though i did go 80mph on the highway to get home...

impressive, muse! i'm not a huge fan, but i like it!! :dance: let's hope their music choice stays good for the next hour.

i think i have the right channel, but they havent said anything about coldplay...they said they wont come on until 8 AM? that's only an hour from now, not two! (i think anyway...) this better happen, though. i'll have woken up early for pretty much nothing besides a trip to starbucks :dozey:

if they meant they were dueting with themselves, i think that's completely lame :laugh4: i suppose your're right, though. what else could it be?! they're playing it again on MTV...i'll catch it again, hopefully. though i do have other things to do...

i must say that it wasn't as bad the second time; i wasn't making the :stunned: face like i was when seeing it live. but chris sounds almost...american in the first few lines, like when british people imitate american accents but only get halfway there. and i wouldn't say he sounds british when he sings, but i don't know, the way he sang some words was NOT how they were on the record, to my ears, and on the record, words like "foreign" are sung in a very british pronunciation. i suppose it's all nerves, but i hope gwynnie's accent isn't removing his lovely british one! :laugh4: just an observation :P

i wonder what the HELL this duet is. i'm intrigued. and half of me wonders if it's actually happening. thank GOD it wasn't with the PCDs, though. is this over at 10, or 10:30 or 11?

hmm. well the crappy quality of that video made it seem better, i think, but maybe it's just me seeing it for a second time. i think we all need to reserve official judgement until we watch a quality video a couple times. the sound and visuals on that were so crap it's hard to say.

haha, i love how much they're playing the apple commercial :nice: mich: i think because you've all heard us bash it, really, you might be pleasantly surprised. hell, the next time i see it, i might not think its so bad. but on first viewing, especially with his first few lines, i was just making this face: :stunned:. all i can say is poor chrissy.

i hope they keep doing VLV live...for such a hard song to do live, it was amazing, music wise! the only thing that i thought would have made it musically better was a live string quartet. vocally...one of chris's worst. but really, i think that's ok. i think we were all so excited for the FIRST performance that we built it up in our minds as going to be AMAZING, and we're a bit let down. realistically, it was probably not going to be that great simply because it's their first time in front of a real audience and on TV in more than a year. frankly, i'm just surprised that chris was THAT nervous. of course some nerves are inevitable, but they're a huge band! it's not like they're new onstage. i've never really seen nerves so obvioulsy affect their performances ever before. can anyone else think of any? personally, i'm not disappointed, just surprised. for the first few lines, that sounded NOTHING like chris to me, not even an ounce. it was almost like the only thing flashing across his mind was "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG," which i didn't expect. that's ok, though. i just know he's either kicking the walls of his dressing room or in tears, which is the worst part of it all, i think.

i think the more intense bits of the song could have been better highlighted than just with confetti. i was thinking really cool light explosion...i thought the confetti was slightly underwhelming. that's got nothing to do with the guys, though, just me being picky :P i just really hope chris isn't a wreck :sad:

i dont think we're going to get an upload until the entire thing is over, because there might be more stuff, like the duet, and it's probably easier to just do it all in one go. i shouldn't be talking about patience, because i have none of it, but these things take a bit of time. i meant pissed at how it was going.

oh yeah, i think they're fine live :D it was just nerves, the first time. they haven't done anything live since what, february 2007? that's a long time. i expected them to be a bit rusty. but i didn't bank on chris being that nervous. he looked like he was going to puke. you could see him shaking, almost. and almost choking on confetti wasn't good either. he sat on the stairs in the end, almost in relief. the other guys did extremely well in my mind...will looked slightly pissed, i think. poor chrissy. i hope he's not beating himself up right now, but we know he is. WE STILL LOVE YOU CHRIS!!! :D

oh man, that was a bit...worse than i was expecting. the music was great ,but chris's voice...man, was he terrified-looking. talk about seeing the fear in someone's eyes. i LOVED the way they pulled the song off, though! mulitple instruments, and the BELL! i wish chris wouldn't be so scared though. of course, this is their first performance, so i think we'll all accept it and let it slide, but the world...might not be so impressed

yes, mich, i think june 9 will be our favorite coldplay day!! COLDPLAY KNOWS OUR NAMES :P aaaand we get to hear the album on june 9. that's deffi my choice of coldplay day :nice:

agreed. i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt even notice. it takes obsessive freaks like us to notice the faces of a modern band in a painting done 200 years ago :dozey:
