17-Sep-2008: Globe Theatre, Stockholm - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Amazing gig. Everyone in the entire Globe was singing, screming, standing and jumping. Lovely. But I will have to say that the concert the day after was better. If I remember it correcly, Chris said on the 18th that if we wanted to beat the crowd on the 17th we would have to try hard, because they were "bloody amazing". I thought both Coldplay and the crowd was bloody amazing.

Oh my god, what a gig. Amazing. Even better then the concert on the 17th. Me and my friends had scremed our throaths sore for Amsterdam both nights so I couldn't believe my ears when Chris started playing it. My heart skipped several beats I think. I didn't know what to do. But when he stopped and started to play the hardest part instead I couldn't help but to feel disappointed. It just felt like a big tease, knowing I was so close to hearing the full version. Apart from that, wonderful concert. Especially Politik. <3 (smileys doesn't seem to work for me, weird.) And btw, the singing voice in the background on Amsterdam sounds an awful lot like me... :S :P

Sounds like house of the rising sun kinda...
I was just checking here, because if this post hadn't been here, I would have posted it! Though about the second time I listened to the album "hey that melody sounds familiuar..." and it struck me that it sounds like "House of the rising sun" it's just one melodyline, which repeats a couple of times through the song, but still!

The WORST song on the album!!!!!!
My worst song to, Lovers In Japan sounds way to much U2, and Reign Of Love is simply boring. Sad but true.
-
Intro to Lovers in Japan = U2
I can't do anything but agree, it sound very much like U2. Way to much. It doesn't even feel like a Coldplaysong.

Please post SCANS of "viva la vida" packaging here
Well the gatefold edition is out at the same day as the regular CD, do you mean another special edition? I hope they don't release another special edition, two version of the album is enough! I wouldn't say no to a B-side album tho, and if they released it, they would be free from EMI! :shocked2::D

Please post SCANS of "viva la vida" packaging here
Probably because it's so shoe-gazy! It has to be some kind of mystery to it, you know ;) sorry to bomb you with this question, but does anyone know the difference between the limited edition and the regular edition?

Please post SCANS of "viva la vida" packaging here
How rare is the gatefold edition? Because I really want that version, and not the regular. Ah, smart lonk there, clockspolitiks, it might be so!

Coldplay to perfom at MTV Movie Awards on June 1
Yes indeed, Chris is a bit out of key, :singer: but I think it will solve until I hear him sing the 17th and 18th September!:laugh1::rolleyes5: But if you ignore Chris singing, this performance were a brilliant teaser, the band live, with a sort of "16th century" theme and confetti and churchbells and violin and choir-singing (the singing from Jonny, Will and Guy really impressed me!):guitarist::lol:

Setlist
Well that is pretty twisted logic, naming the tour after a song and not playing it... I sincerely hope they play Don't Panic, if they don't I'm gonna seek them up and demand to hear it! I hope they drop a lot of X&Y songs, especially Swallowed In The Sea and The Hardest Part, but since they don't like THP they hopefully won't play it. The only songs from X&Y I want to hear is Square One, Talk and Fix You, but I wouldn't be so sad if they didn't play Fix You. And it would be so amazing if they closed the set with Amsterdam!:D

Guy Berryman on VLV: "I'd say there's another album ready to go."!!
That would be amazing! :D My favourite alternative here would definetely be to release some songs as B-sides and put together the rest and release an EP at the end of this year! That would be so great! Does their contract with EMI include all sorts of releases or just albums+singles, it includes all, right? :( Otherwise they could have free hands to do something different with the EP and release it on their own. But I guess that's not possible. But wether it's for EMI or not I would love an EP, like 6 tracks or something!

"Our tour will feature magic balls" - ????
Exactely! that would be so god damn amaing! :stunned::D But I hope they would do it in a different way do, so they don't just do a complete rip-off on The Flaming Lips.

Åh det kommer bli så otroligt bäst!!! :D

"Our tour will feature magic balls" - ????
Perhaphs those sort of balls The Flaming Lips have used during shows, when the person is surrounded by a ball, you know, they stand inside a ball and play, that would be cool! (sorry if anyone already posted something about that, I didn't have the patience to look through all pages of pervert fantasies ;))

European Tour Dates!!!!
THEY ARE COMING TO SWEDEN! :o:D:heart::bigcry:(<-happy tears!)

Will Champion Has Twins - Yes Twins (And an Aussie tour clue!)
Congrats to the Champions! :D Juno sounds so soft and Rex sounds so raw, it's quite a contrast, atleast for my ears. Great names! Is Ava's anme actually Ava-mae? Or is Mae her middlename?

which coldplay song sounds most like a radiohead one?
I don't agree with you Saffire, shure, Coldplay and Radiohead are two different bands, so far i'm with you. And even do they have some similuarities they shouldn't be compared to each other as much as they are. And yes, I actually think Coldplay is comfortable being more mainstream then Radiohead are. But seriously, Radiohead are an amazing band, they always keep changing, trying to find new ways (including new ways to release music) and that's something I truly respect them for. They are very brave. And i have a feeling that hopefully with this album Coldplay will be brave to, abandon their cosy familiuar couch and try to do something new, something that the world don't expect. And that's inspiration from Radiohead. To bad you don't like In Rainbows "tired old Thom Yorke whiny crap". I personally think it's an amazing album.

Coldplay to Sweden?
Oh, nice, but why Sweden of all countries, I mean it's not so common if you're from Marocco to visit Sweden, and why Trelleborg?
