Princess of China and the similarity between a song of Vietnam !?
Strikingly similar... I was not expecting it.

Queen of China?
Why song about Princess? King with Queen, no Princess, yes?

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Are you guys kidding about Chinese Sleep Chant? Just look at the lyrics on Google... It's like "Fall asleep (or Fall to sleep), fall asleep... sleep satisfies, sleep satisfies...". I adore singing along

14-Feb-2009: Osaka, Kobe World Kinen Hall - Tickets, Reviews, Meetups, Previews
Well, considering that "Tokyo" is not even the original lyric of the song, and that CM doesn't vary that lyric, and that, even if he did, the chances of him mistaking "Tokyo" for "Osaka" are near-nil, I'd say there was not much to worry about and that your comment makes no sense.

More North American Dates (Freezingcoldplay Speculates)
Anyone think some more NA dates might be announced? All I know is that there seems to be a larger-than-normal gap between the Toronto date and the next Mansfield (Mass.) one... Montreal's also on the way. Also, maybe Halifax?

C. Martin doesn't give enough credit to Lovers in Japan (album version) - Live Conten
I could not believe my ears when I heard LIJ (Osaka Sun) from the new EP. It's basically the Live version. All the stuff that I thought was the live interpretation (the general harmonies and the "Ooooooooooooooo" before "tonight, maybe we're gonna run") were found on this new EP mix. Then I recall C. Martin's letter saying the album version didn't have enough energy... well, it does! In fact, it's cooler than the new mix. I can understand that C. Martin is maybe being a perfectionist and reading into stuff that we don't see/hear, but the move to album-ify the live version is just weird. There's an album version, and it's live interpretation... but don't album-ify it.

United States concerts and European concerts
This was either a brilliant counter or you missed my point. It wasn't meant to be a complement that Europeans clap/jump at anything/everything. It's cool because it's spirited but not as a reflection on band appreciation IMO. You either missed that, or were completely aware of it and gave a different interpretation of the behaviour. Also interesting is your distinction between England and Europe.

General Chat: Setlist
Definitely needs the pronounced, regular piano chords. Where the fireworks would be, the piano would have to kick in a la CD version. The bass and drums could also be less loud... sorry to be critical, just, as a fan, this is what I think would reach the song's potential. 1. Piano, in addition to organ 2. Little more effort on the main guitar 3. Drums less loud 4. Bass less loud

General Chat: Setlist
"Fix You" (Live) is missing something Firstly, the song is amazing. But, performed live, and regardless of where it's performed (having watched vids from all over the world), it's missing something. It's either the guitar at the peak of the song, or the lack of pronounced piano (I'm not referring to the organ). It might be that the guitar is too, I don't know how to describe it... Listening to it now, I think it could definitely use the loud, pronouned, regular piano from the CD. It's just missing the power of CD version at that key moment. Anyone agree?

United States concerts and European concerts
This is actually quite arrogant. It depends on the city. Shows in Montreal are amazing, better than Europe in my opinion... and bands have said so. I know bands always say "this crowd is great" so you just have to trust me that I've sorted throught the BS and it's my real observation. Crowds in Buffalo were also surprisingly great. Toronto, Ottawa, Chicago... not so great Europeans go crazy at festival concerts and clap to anything/everything. Fans at a given European show are not necessarily fans, just Europeans (that clap, jump etc.). North Americans fans tend to love the band so I think the bands sense a greater appreciation.

20-Oct-08: Ottawa - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 21 Oct]
I think CM may have thought he was in Toronto: 1. During God Put a Smile, it sounds like he improvs "... Toronto... and had a very, very, very good time" 2. He referenced the Oasis incident which happened in Toronto

Favorite part of the "How We Saw the World" footage?
During "Square One", right at the beginning, the panning camera and all the cameras flashing... amazing shot.
