  1. aye i prefer the latter two songs as well - B&S is the track not in my top 5 atm since although i think its great it has a fabricated feel to in that it was obviously their most mainstream track at the time that they were pushing to get a big record label contract - which is fair play because thats what has to be done but i think it leads to a less meaningful song which is a shame because that is their biggest strength :? come to think of it thats probably why they r not fond of the guitar part :) or maybe im just not that clever
  2. my first concert was Radiohead at the Reading Rivermead in 1995 and they were amazing!!! thats when my true love of radiohead / coldplay / travis et al music began and ive never waived from it
  3. aka nice to see you :D
  4. VERY hun! seriously seek them out - 2 of them r in my Coldplay top 5 atm!! btw - nice to see joo :D

if any one finds out what the b-sides might be - postage!!!
  6. i like Travis too - in fact im trying to get back into their music more atm so there must be a remember Travis vibe going on or something
  7. aye but for someone who listens to music for as long if not longer than i sleep each day i like to think my opinions are fairly well realised even if they are not always right or shared by others :)
  8. u lot r luvly! :D dont go away now! :P *over time - not this particular evening if you r tired an all  *
  9. ive cried to the scientist as it so closely matches a very close personal memory - namely the section with the line "tell me you love me, come back and haunt me" it reminds me of a girl i loved more than my own life but who i lost, we were together for 2 years and now im 25 in three weeks but have never been the same since loosing her. she still haunts me and i find the lyrics so powerful because they do not suggest regret or fear - more they actually welcome the feeling - much like my own feelings in that i never want to forget her and now i look for a partner who doesnt replace her but who could give me something more im not sure that makes sense but i cant help but sigh when i write it and feel warm at the same time because i was lucky enough to have the time with her before things went bad some people are amazing dont let the ones who really matter go :(
  10. innit
  11. maybe - in fact i think yes but im having trouble recalling the vid - hes ALWAYS at a piano
  12. erm lets see: Brothers and Sisters EP - AMAZING!! Yellow Single - VERY good Parachutes - Australian Tour Edition (same second cd as rare independant newspaper cover cd from 1999 - i think - dont quote me  ) - VERY good Trouble - Norwegian Live EP - GREAT Dont Panic CD (Denamrk release with live tracks) - Good In My Place Single - Good B-Sides but not as good as early ones in my humble opinion i.e. I've gone Coldplay mad :silly:
  13. Jools Holland is a Jazz / Musical god who has his own open-talent show which attracts a lot of the big genuine music talents (i.e. very little chart related pop junk and lots of serious artists). He's been going in England for a long time now and we all love and and respect him lots, even if he does sometimes look a little like a scary, intense little man
  14. i have the single and its amazing - one of my favourite tracks this year - having said that ive heard that the single is by far the best track of the album although i am very tempted to get it
  15. ok well my impressions are: "Despite much of their art-rock posturing" (quote from site-linked review because i cant agree more) they are not bad at all :D i think they still need to develop as the lead singers sometimes awkward voice dominates the songs and some quite impressive guitar-based tunage is lost in the background of his snarling vocals. Having said that they show great promise and id love to see them reach a clearer definition in their sound - they certainly seem to have the base talent to be good! Hicksy's Mark: B+ (edited to B- after 3 listens over a 30 minute period)
  16. nps luvvies - always good to share the excitement
  17. hullo DG - not had a good chat with u for a while - how u been keeping? im an officially Coldplay mad - i now listen to them more than Radiohead at the moment - which for me is unheard of - ive been buying up their back-catalogue and some of the old non-album tracks are unbelievably good - especially since i am very acoustically influenced atm since i am learning acoustic guitar as we speak  wub
  18. i am do-diddly-do-do-doing so right now :D getting the two mp3 tracks to see what they r like
