whatever you do dont buy the mexican fenders unless they are of the good range (the expensive ones cost as mucha s the american ones) if you are starting out you can think about buying a squire a squire telecaster can give yout he sound you may be looking for or this squire model i had called the squire 51' is also good for its price they are wayc heaper than the proper fenders think of it as epiphone as opposed to gibson if ofcourse you are willing to spend osme money buy a fender telecaaster made in usa or maybe japan most importantly try it our before and see if you like it amos im no expert but fender is always a good option or marshall is very relaible as well
