  1. Linnea, i'm glad to see Pink Floyd songs in your list !
  2. Yeah, Ur totally right !! But what pisses me off is when people around you hear this, don't know and say : "Wow, this music is not bad..." About Syd and Wish You Were Here, have you known about that day he came over in Abbey Road while they were recording Shine On ? He had shaved his hair and eyebrows, and had a real overweight, so that they did not recognize him immediately. And when someone said "this is Syd", Waters and Wright fell in tears. I just can't imagine how shocking this could be !
  3. Question to you all : How do you prefer Sunburn live ? Matt on guitar, or Matt on piano ? For me, it's piano.
  4. Yeah, listen to The Bends and OK Computer first. OK Computer is a terrific disc, every song on it is great, esp. No Surprises, my favourite of them.
  5. The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute Terrific album ! Download or buy !
  6. Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away
  7. Yes, he is very modest, but if you compare with other great guitarists (Hendrix, Vaughan, Clapton, Page, Gilmour, Greenwood, Morello, and even Molko), it appears that he is actually no very good rock guitarist. I love what he does, and God knows I love Muse, his performances are impressive, but it's rather because of some "feeling", or "presence" he has than talent or skill. For example, if you see some Bliss performances where he ends laying on the ground, madly scratching his strings, I find this great, but the guitar actually sounds ugly !
  8. About Echoes, try your best to avoid the versions of Echoes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond that you can find on it : they're shortened versions faaaaar below the Meddle (resp. Wish You Were Here) ones. Same thing for Marooned : the Best Of version is only one half of the Division Bell one (and not the best half IMO) By the way, Echoes is the best song I've ever heard (rated 1st on my song list)
  9. House Of Cards ~ Radiohead
  10. Buy it ! Seriously, I think it won't be long until someone encodes the vinyl, so don't worry, you'll get it ^^
  11. Radiohead - No no no no no no no no.
  12. 70's : Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd and just behind : 90's and 00's (Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay, Jeff Buckley...)
  13. Yeah, this song always makes me laugh my ass off ! It's You Fucking Motherfucker's old brother I guess (same spirit).
  14. It is a very special one, because Waters wrote and composed almost everything. All along the album he criticizes modern society using animal designs to speak of people, just as George Orwell in Animal Farm. It sounds much darker than the former ones, and is quite agressive for the ears, like some kind of acid. (Well, that's what I think anyway)
  15. For me it's Dark Side Of The Moon, first because it was at the time simply inimaginable (the first synthesiser ever heard on On The Run, the fact that each song segues into the next one), and then because all songs are purely great : none is the greatest Pink Floyd song for me, but they're all wonderful, there's no song on this album that I wanna skip.
  16. If - Pink Floyd "Please don't put your wires in my brain"
  17. Zabriskie Point Session - Rome - 1969 01 - Rain in the country 02 - The piano sequence 03 - Intermezzo 04 - Fingal's cave (take 1) 05 - Zabriskie Point theme 06 - Rain in the country (suite) 07 - Love scene (take 1) 08 - Love scene (take 2) 09 - Blues scene 10 - Fingal's cave (take 2) 11 - Love scene (take 3) 12 - Love scene (take 4) 13 - The red queen (AKA country song) 14 - Crumblin' land 15 - Funky dung [nothing to do with Atom Heart Mother's fourth movement]
  18. Alright , I'm on it. No surprise you like Sheep, Linnea, when i know you're a Muse fan. I think Sheep strongly influenced Muse. Don't you think it could be a Muse song ? I'd love to hear Muse cover Sheep (that's something I've had on my mind for a long time) And I did mean you, as well as any body in here !
  19. The one on P.U.L.S.E CD2 is wonderful as well. Some time ago, I bought a (quite rare, I guess) CD titled Zabriskie Point Sessions, which features the unmixed takes of the recording sessions (December 1969) they made for Antonioni's movie, before he rejected the sketches. It's no fake, I swear, and there are great rarities, such as the piano sequence that inspired Wright in the making of Us And Them. Would you like me to upload it ?
  20. Too bad we can't hear the trumpet very well... Great performances anyway !
  21. Jonny, you fucking genius, happy birthday !
  22. I agree. My trouble is that I've listened so many times to all Floyd songs that each time I hear any new song from anyone, I see some kind of influence. When I listen to On The Run, it makes me believe that all Techno-House stuff wouldn't exist without Pink Floyd...
  23. Nik uploaded the whole Analyse Single a few days ago : Analyse single http://www.sendspace.com/file/wr6rhp
  24. This addiction will never end : sometimes I forget Dark Side a bit, but there's always a moment when I feel like listening to it again, and then I'm addicted again...
