CP fan on Aussie Idol
yeah but oddly enough i have never vote, i figured everyone else will and if they are voted out, well that's it. if they really wanna be artists they will make it happen regardless if they win idol or not. i do think mutto can sing, pretty well in fact, but he chose a cp song his voice could not perform and put on a chris martin act. but it's understandable i guess, he's a cp fan and if i was in that situation, i probably would attempt a cp track too, maybe...but i'd still be myself.

^^ i third that. i struggle to recall anyone who has covered a cp song well, especially clocks. unless they are really unique and transform the song to fit themselves, it just comes off as an underwhelmed performance. i like bobby's style as well. i think he and damien have wonderful voices that really stand out. damien because of his falcetto, and bobby because his voice is wow...i'd buy his album without a doubt. after the 2nd series? this is coming from a place that has been the birth place for some amazing talent. i guess it's only idol anyway lol

CP fan on Aussie Idol
aussie idol always plays the best clips from the songs in previews so even if a person did really bad, they only show the best bit to give everyone an even go with the voting. i said earlier that i do like mutto's style of singing, but that was waaaaay too much imitating of chris martin that i would've liked. it was too much already without his writing on his hand like chris :\

CP fan on Aussie Idol
i think his name is bobby. he was really good last week with cold chisel's when the war is over. i saw some cp style in him but in a totally different way compared to mutto, a good way. YES he would've! his voice is really goooood :o i wasn't expecting that at all. ^^ if i find a link or something i'll post it but it really was awful. kinda sad considering he really loves coldplay :\ it's probably a good thing you haven't seen it though lol

Which song would you choose...?
same. but right off the top of my head... see you soon - definitely! warning sign for you only a suggestion though. i hope your friend feels better. he must've had built up expectations and is feeling really unworthy, but give him time...and a cp song to help speed the process :nice:

yeah damien sang creep. maybe with damiens amazing falcetto, he should of done clocks and the other guy...well he should stay right away from ever singing coldplay tracks again.

CP fan on Aussie Idol
haha, he got all the words right but seriously, he really came off as a chris martin wannabe imo :uhoh: ^^ indeed, he must find his own style or else he'll become a contestant no one remembers. i even find it hard remembering the winners.

The contestant named Mutto is a HUGE fan of Coldplay. Tonight he sang Clocks which he performed average since he couldn't imitate Chris' falcetto but he is copying his style. he has been seen on the show wearing that brown CP shirt (I only make point of the colour because I have that on too) and writing messages on this hand exactly how Chris does with MTF. I'm all for gaining inspiration and I like his style of singing, but it just didn't work for me. (I know a lot of you don't watch Aussie Idol but some of you do and I just wanted to hear your opinions on it, if you have any of course)

true is there some way we can boost numbers? like i said before, we should try encourage others to atleast visit this thread. i think the idea of adding the link to our sigs was a bit ridiculous but i think we were on the right path. i don't know, but we should do something or else the addition of new lists will be long waited and possibly too late.

I hate it when people say they hate something and then they do it
that's possibly true. i've done many things i've said i hate. i've also said that statement a few times too. funny enough the irony that i was being hypocritical at the time never came up

I hate it when people say they hate something and then they do it
after reading the first post i completely understood what the sentence meant, but reading all the posts to follow has confuzzled me. my memory of my initial thought has prevailed and this is what i make of it. say i come up to you and say 'hey, i hate it when someone says they hate something and then they do it" take that statement at face value would mean the thing 'do it' is directly related to the 'something' so the action itself is irrelevent. like in this sentence, the 'do it' is the when someone says they hate something then do it so putting that back into the sentence we have: 'hey, i hate it when someone says they hate [when someone says they hate something then do it] and then they do it' the stater is hypocritical only because they have used the same word 'hate' which has directly linked them to the statement. the only way the stater wouldn't be hypocritical is if they had said something like 'i find it annoying when people say they hate something and then they do it' therefore stater is doing exactly what they hate so he/she is a hypocrite. so yeah there we have it + some confusion lol
