No, I don't think the (elegant) Alberta font suits with (non elegant) things like ETDIAWF :cry: Maybe they don't want to spoil the memory of the classic font with their new crappy music :P

Unfortunately they no longer use it since 2008 or so (if I'm not wrong they changed it for the VLV artwork). It's a pitty that they abandoned something so iconic. By the way, I always wonder what is the name of that font (the classic one, I mean). Anyone knows?

I absolutely agree with you in everything. X&Y is my favourite album cover of all time too (although people assault me in the street for that :laugh3:). And I hate when a band itself appears in the cover (sorry, the Beatles).

I agree, it would be better without the giant title on it. There was a time when Coldplay did'nt need to "yell" the title of their albums.

At least it was surprising, and has a boob on it. I think MX cover also lacks the "mystery" of X&Y and AROBTTH covers.

I totally love the previous four Coldplay album covers. But I'm truly dissapointed with Mylo Xyloto's. Grafitti? Wow, very original :thinking: It remainds me a lot of U2 Achtung Baby's artwork (they do this on purpouse? 'cuz Achtung Baby celebrates its 20 anniversary in october).

Charlie Brown is definetely going to be next/first single of LP5. I don't need 56 reasons or clues. It's going to be the single simply because: 1. It's the only good song of the new Coldplay era :laugh3:

Fact1: Portishead are better than Coldplay (Sorry, but their music it's obviously deeper and more creative, and timeless than Coldplay's) Fact2: Fireworks are cool. (Coldplay shows would be boring without fireworks and balloons?). Fact3: Geoff Burrows stole christmas.

Ok, the walking man would be cool as a cover (althoug I'd preffer my UFO one :D, but... I don't like MX as the title, specially when we already have XY. In my opinion the title and the album cover will surprise us. I don't think that they are going to use an image that we have already seen.

If ETDIAW is seperate from the rest of their songs and to simply be an exciting track they should have told us. 'Cause if they don't, we think that it's the leading single of their new album. And as a party-song with no pretentions at all it's fine, but as a leading single it's crap.

Your first attempts look good to me, though I preffer that they quit the graffiti-themed artwork. As you can see in my signature Coldplay album covers have been awesome so far, so I refuse to believe that LP5 is going to have a cover as grothesque as this:

At the begginig of the song ("I put my records on, I turn the music loud") Chris sounds terrible, is he trying to rap or something? I don't know but the result sounds to me as if I were listening to a Black Eyed Peas song. The rest of the song is better, but that bit... OMG I hate it.

Neither do I. But unfortunatelly ETDIAW (the song, not the full EP) is Blackeyedpeas-esque. Major Minus, Moving to Mars, Hurts like Heaven and Princess of China are simply mediocre, worst Coldplay stuff ever. And Charlie Brown is simply lovely, but I'm afraid it will be an island of quality in the new album.

I hope the album's artwork will be related with the ovni-stuff (something like the coldplay.com design) rather than the really horrendous graffiti-stuff (something as grothesque as the ETDIAWF artwork).

Yes, there ARE chorus in the new songs, but they are so boring that they don't look like choruses at all.

If the 10 minute EP is boring as hell I can't imagine how bad that 85 minute long album could be... Imagine 20 tracks as Blackeyedpeas-esque as ETDIAWF!! God Help Us All...

I give it a 5/10.. and I'm being very generous. I guess people is rating out of 100 :thinking: That would explain the huge amount of 10s. Seriously. If Moving to Mars is a 10/10, what about The Scientist or Clocks? At least a 20/10. Come on boys... Moving to Mars would be one of the worst Coldplay songs if it would be included in any previous Coldplay album, but after the ETDIAWF disaster we welcome this decent song as it would be the greatest song in the universe. I hope none of the ETDIAWF EP tracks will be in the album. Charlie Brown is the only new song that worth that.
