[1-Jun-2012] Coldplay @ Emirates Stadium, London, UK
Cracking gig! Managed to get a signed set list and photo from Phil Harvey at the end. He was chilling in the sound mixing bit behind the X stage - really nice bloke too. :D :)

[27-Oct-2011] BBC Radio 1's Student Tour, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK
Oh okay. Where is that thread? I guess mods should delete this thread then, it's not fair on him to have this stuff over the internet.

[27-Oct-2011] BBC Radio 1's Student Tour, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK
Chris' "Personal Issue" - ??? "Without going into too much detail Chris told everyone that the gig would be slightly shorter than planned thanks to a personal issue (I know there’s rumours floating around but I’m not going to repeat what he said, sorry) " Can anyone shed any light on this? I've done an extensive forum trawl but cannot seem to find out any more... Is it the issues with EMI? Is everyone ok etc?

Chris - happy man?
I've noticed he does seem to be extremely happy looking at the moment in his interviews, yes. He's a bit more chilled out these days I think. :)

So Many Changes in Coldplay...
They no longer share profits equally. Source was an article on here a while back just after the first bits of MX news were surfacing. Their rule of never having anyone else but themselves singing on the album has been broken. They wouldn't split up anymore if a member took drugs/they don't ask about that stuff... "One thing that surprised me was when Nagui asked about the "no drugs" rules, they acted kind of weird. They were like "this rule doesn't exist anymore. we were young, it's a stupid rule blah blah" so Nagui asked if they take some stuff and they answered "we don't talk about that". Junkies haha !" http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79038&page=8 And of course, their music has changed a lot in MX. It has far more synth, it is much less acoustic, etc. Personally, I love all of their new songs. But... since their early days when they were fresh out of university, they've changed really quite a lot. I guess it is just a natural change, but the original "Coldplayness" seems to have gone a miss...

The Oracle - "PoC is not as good live"
Q. Hey Oracle! Just heard Paradise. ITS AMAZING!! Love it! But after, I saw news that Rihanna was going to be featured in Princess of China?? I heard the original via YouTube, and I LOVE IT AS IS. Is Rihanna going to be featured? Thanks! Lots of fangirl love! Kelly The Oracle replies: I've had a lot of mail about this since the news broke. The first time I heard POC it was just an instrumental. The second time I heard it Chris & Rihanna's vocals had been added. I have to say it sounds amazing. I then heard the band perform it live. I liked it a lot, but not quite as much. For me it was wise to drop it from the set because it simply didn't sound the same without Rihanna. It was written with her in mind so it makes perfect sense. When you hear it, you will see and hopefully agree. What are they doing. :o How can a live version be less good than a studio version? I mean, a live version portrays the band's raw emotion; how they feel it should be played. It gives the audience a chance to connect to a band in the purest form. I wish they used Florence or Delilah (from Chase and Status) to do the vocals; a soaring and piercing voice would suit Coldplay's style so much more. I hope they haven't fucked this up and gone too pop-y.

Female vocal? ** UPDATED - It's Rihanna **
True. But he allowed the lyrical incompetence of 'Paradise' - "para, para, paradise" on to the album. Ah well, I guess it fits in well with "um...brella, ella, ella". :shocked2: ETA - that's a bit harsh calling Chris lyrically incompetent. But I hope the band realise they've worried a lot of their long time, hardcore fans. :(

Female vocal? ** UPDATED - It's Rihanna **
Yes. Someone with a soaring, piercing voice. Or Delilah, used by Chase and Status ont heir track "Time". Not Rihanna. I mean, seriously? Coldplay aren't David Guetta or something like that?! I really, really hope this will work. But like many others, I am feeling a bit unsure a the prospect of Mylo Xyloto to be honest.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
I think for their next album they should do two things. 1) Only allow acoustic guitar, piano, drums, electric guitar and bass guitar. 2) Fire Brian Eno. I'm not a huge fan of the direction. I really didn't like VLV at all, I am liking this album a lot more, but still - it is all a bit too pop-y.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
This'll be the MX version of In My Place when they play it live. It's good. Not their best ever, but it's good.
