  8. COLDPLAY TO HEADLINE GLASTONBURY FOR A FOURTH TIME? Insiders report that Chris Martin and co will make history, in topping the bill again Insiders report that Coldplay are to make history by headlining Glastonbury for a fourth time next year. The band have long been tipped to appear next year, but now The Sun claim that 'a source' close to the Eavis family has confirmed the news - with the band closing the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night. "Michael likes getting things sorted as early as possible and having a solid, reliable Sunday headline act to send people home happy is a massive part of the booking process," said the 'source'. "Coldplay are Glastonbury veterans and will have no problem filling a two-hour set that punters will love." The band previously headlined in 2002, 2005 and 2011, and are practically the Glasto house band after appearing previously n 1999 and 2000. They also reveal that the other two headliners will be Adele and Foo Fighters. Coldplay are due to release their new album, A Head Full Of Dreams in the coming months - reportedly their last. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters would be stepping up after being forced to cancel their Glasto headline slot last year when Grohl broke his leg. Adele is due to release her long-awaited third album in November. Glastonbury will take place from 23-27 June 2016, and tickets sold out in record earlier this month. Other rumoured headliners include Radiohead, Prince, Muse and Fleetwood Mac - with Rod Stewart and Leo Sayer adding they want to appear on the special guest Sunday slot. http://www.gigwise.com/news/103260/glastonbury-2016-headline-rumours---coldplay-adele-foo-fighters
  9. [h=1]Anu Malik’s daughter Anmoll recreates Coldplay song[/h] [h=2]Anu Malik's daughter Anmoll Mallik is all set to unveil her debut single titled "Lamhein" on EMI Records India. She says it's about some once-in-a-lifetime moments.[/h] Popular Bollywood music composer Anu Malik’s daughter Anmoll Mallik is all set to unveil her debut single titled “Lamhein” on EMI Records India. She says it’s about some once-in-a-lifetime moments. Anmoll is the first signing of the music label and her single is a recreation of British band Coldplay’s hit number “Paradise”, said a statement. “‘Lamhein’ relates the tale of a girl’s rise to fame and how it affects those around her. Sometimes you don’t realise how precious a moment is until it becomes a distant memory. ‘Lamhein’ is about desperately seeking those moments that may never come back,” Anmoll said. Anu is the music director of the song and Manoj Mantoshri of “Galliyaan” fame has penned the lyrics. The song is accompanied by a music video that stars Anmoll and Mohit Marwah, nephew of actor Anil Kapoor whose previous work includes his role in the film “Fugly”. EMI Records India is an initiative between Universal Music India and acclaimed film director Mohit Suri, who has also directed the music video for the single. Mohit, who makes his non-film directorial debut with the video, said he is “delighted” with how it has shaped up. “I almost feel the same nervous energy which I felt during my first film release considering this is my first attempt at a non-film music video. I sincerely hope that the audience enjoys the song and the video as much as we have enjoyed making it,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, Devraj Sanyal, managing director and CEO, Universal Music Group South Asia, said: “We are proud to announce our first release under EMI Records India – a natural talent that comes from a distinguished musical legacy!” “It was a unanimous decision between us and Mohit Suri to launch Anmoll Mallik as the first artiste under the label. She’s such a brilliant talent and an absolute pleasure to work with in studio”. “Lamhein” will be available across all digital partners exclusively on EMI Records India on October 2. Looks like this song is not on the album http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/music/anu-maliks-daughter-anmoll-recreates-coldplay-song/#sthash.pp2igpxO.dpuf

  22. The Beatles are certainly artists for all-time. The world is now in the fifth decade since their breakup and the band's music still sells better than the vast majority of artists from any decade. That can be easily shown in the newly released list of the top selling albums of the millenium, so far, in the U.K. The Official Charts Company's list shows Adele at the top of the list that takes into account charts from week 1 2000 to week 11 2015 with her album 21, a monster seller in an era dominated by digital downloads and, now, streaming. It's one of two albums by the singer in the list with her 19 at number 27. She is followed by Amy Winehouse's classic Back to Black, James Blunt's similarly titled Back to Bedlam, Leona Lewis' Spirit and Dido's No Angel. Then comes the Beatles. Their hits album 1 is the sixth biggest selling album of the last 15+ years in England even though none of the songs were recorded even in the three decades running up to the begibning of the millenium. Also in the top ten, at number 8, is veteran artist David Gray with White Ladder and, at 10, is Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head. Over all, Coldplay has three albums in the top 50, one short of both Take That and Robbie Williams who each have four. The top ten and all veteran artists farther down in the list: 01. 21 - Adele 02. Back to Black - Amy Winehouse 03. Back to Bedlam - James Blunt 04. Spirit - Leona Lewis 05. No Angel - Dido 06. 1 - Beatles 07. Crazy Love - Michael Buble 08. White Ladder - David Gray 09. The Fame - Lady Gaga 10. A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay 13. Beautiful World - Take That 16. X&Y - Coldplay 17. Parachutes - Coldplay 19. Gold - Greatest Hits - ABBA 21. Swing When You're Winning - Robbie Williams 22. Progress - Take That 24. Never Forget: The Ultimate Collection - Take That 25. Greatest Hits - Robbie Williams 26. Number Ones - Michael Jackson 30. The Circus - Take That 31. Sing When You're Winning - Robbie Williams 34. American Idiot - Green Day 35. Escapology - Robbie Williams 38. By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers 42. 23. Adele’s 21 is the biggest selling artist album of the millennium to date, the Official Charts Company can reveal. The singer-songwriter’s second studio album – which spent an impressive 23 weeks at Number 1 - has sold nearly 4,740,000 copies in the UK to date. Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black earns the Number 2 spot with sales of over 3,560,000 since its 2006 release. The former Official Albums Chart Number 1 spawned five Top 40 singles including Rehab, You Know I’m No Good, Back To Black, Tears Dry On Their Own and Love Is A Losing Game. In at Number 3 is James Blunt’s debut LP Back To Bedlam, which counts 3,310,000 sales this millennium. The album spent 10 weeks at the Official Albums Chart summit, racking up a total of 40 weeks in the Top 40. Rounding out the Top 5 are chart debuts Leona Lewis’ Spirit with 3,130,000 UK sales and Dido’s No Angel with 3,080,000 sales. Robbie Williams and Take That tie for the most entries in the Top 50 with four each. Robbie’s Swing When You’re Winning (21), Greatest Hits (25), Sing When You’re Winning (31) and Escapology (35) feature on the list alongside Take That’s Beautiful World (13), Progress (22), Never Forget – The Ultimate Collection (24) and The Circus (30). Other acts with multiple entries include; Coldplay (3), Adele (2), Dido (2), Ed Sheeran (2), Michael Buble (2) and Rihanna (2). Of the Top 50 Official Biggest Selling Artist Albums of the Millennium, only two were released before the year 2000 - David Gray’s White Ladder and ABBA’s Gold – Greatest Hits, which sit at Numbers 8 and 19, respectively. Only 39 albums have passed the 2 million UK sales mark this millennium, with the latest addition to the list, Ed Sheeran’s X, tipping over just this week.
