Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
Around 9ish, Miller and Dan start to leave. Ha, they must walk past us to get out. :D We approach them and they are kinda taken aback. :P We get some pics and Kelly has brought one on the letters off her Viva car to try and get signed. Miller takes it and says he will ask the band and gets their room number so he can return it after they sign it. :stunned: I talked mostly to Dan. I told him I remember seeing them both way back during AROBTTH tour when they lived on buses, this is much nicer. They agree. Miller said that was his first tour with the band. I told Dan I bought one of Jonny's guitars in the auction and he was quit excited and asked which one. I told him and he said, "oh yeah, that's a good one"

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
After Will and Guy leave, someone at next table asks, who that was. :P Then we see Miller and Dan Green walking over the eat at the restaurant. The restaurant is separate from the bar/cafe. It is listed as being "more expensive" and formal on Expedia so fuck me I don't even want to know what shit there costs. :laugh3: We decide on same game plan, we'll only approach people when they are done and leaving. I mean who wants people all up in their business when they are trying to eat. So we are sitting and waiting when up walks band assistants EJ, Vicky and Debs! They sit at the exact same table where Will and Guy sat. WOW! We sit and wait for them to finish and when they stand to leave I walk up and ask for pics. I got to tell Vicky that I was the one that made her birthday banner in San Antonio. Aww she said thanks. I told Debs she needs to just once answer someone by telling them to learn to Google! We talked about Nettie and I thanked her for putting the tribute up on Coldplay.com. I also thanked her for getting the band to sign Sam's card for Jen and Ian. They were so nice.

Felling dejected I say fuck it, lets go have a drink! So down to the bar we go. We arrive around 7pm. We sit and here comes my bestest friend, Sebastian to take my order when Kirsten starts kicking me under the table. WTF woman! Then I see Will and Guy walk by and sit 2 tables over from us! :o They sit and talk, order drinks. Will had beer, Guy had wine. There are some dudes in suits, not regular Coldplay security, but security staff of hotel standing off to side just outside bar area. We sit and try not to stare, decide it is best to not bother them while they are seated and wait until they get up to leave to ask for a pic. Vicky Taylor keeps popping in and out to ask them stuff. We sit and wait and when they stand to leave, they have to walk right past us. I stand and start to ask for a pic when security swoops in. Will says, no it's OK and they back off. Yah for Will! I have practiced over and over how to tell Ryan's story quickly so they will understand why I want a pic of them with this tiny red car. They are more than happy to pose. Woot 2/4 of Coldplay in one shot. Then Kirsten wanted a pic but her camera didn't work so i took one with mine. Kelly and her husband, Kevin arrived about 15 minutes after they left. Kelly was just sick! She's been to many shows but hasn't meet any of them. Dammit! I am most happy. Sebastian, more tequila por favor! :D

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
After he leaves we sit and wait.............and wait...............and wait! :snobby: The flowers are lovely, the couches not so comfy. Then we hear police escort sirens and get all excited! But it turns out to be some big wig and of course he's brought a whole slew of CIA looking mofos with him. They all swarm into lobby and we are surrounded by dudes in suits talking into sleeves and neck ties. :uhoh: They finally all clear out and we sit and wait some more. Finally around 6pm Coldplay motorcade arrives! Several black SUVs lead by several police motorcycles pull into covered area. We see a bunch of fans outside lined up across the street cheering. They pull into a private area of the garage and enter the hotel without us even seeing them. :bigcry: Miller and Dan Green enter through front of hotel like normal, but we don't see the band at all. We hang around in lobby for a bit and see Franksie but no boys. So we go to room to sulk and when we get off elevator, there are 10 security dudes on our floor. WTF! Who the hell is staying on our floor? :inquisitive:

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
Day 2, March 5th OK The Coldplays are due in today. We start off with a lovely breakfast at the Cafe. Have another walk around Zona Rosa, high altitude still fucking with me. :( We discuss when we think band will arrive. We think they will maybe leave Columbia around noon and should arrive sometime around 4pm. We go hang around in lobby to wait. While waiting we see Mat Whitecross returning to hotel. He has to go thru security like everyone does and when he gets inside I call his name. He smiles and comes over to chat. :D We talk about him being there to film. I tell him I have been at several shows that he's filmed and enough already, WE WANT OUR BLOODY DVD! We don't want to hear any of that archival footage crap! He laughs. He says it's not up to him. He's so flippin hot! And nice. And smiley. We asked for pics, then he had to hurry off. OK ignore me in the pic.

OK so the Four Seasons is like Fort Knox! There is a metal detector at the door and a bag search when you enter. Then there are guards posted on some of the floors. Our floor has at least 3 guards on duty 24 hrs a day. We walk around the hotel to see where the elevators are, there's only one set :sneaky: , and where things are located, pool, gym stuff like that. While we are sitting at bar, 3 men come and sit at table next to us. Then I notice there are at least 8 guards wearing suits and talking into their sleeves surrounding the area. :uhoh: I kinda get freaked out. I ask the waiter, Sebastian, who the hell these guys are and should I maybe not make any sudden movements for fear of having my head blown off. He says it's no big deal, the security here is always like this and not to worry. Kirsten has a margarita, I prefer my tequila straight. In the room, there is a mini bar and a price list. We laugh at the cost of a bottle of water and that becomes our new money standard. How much is that sandwich, it's 3 bottles of water, ect. I ask for a shot of Patron silver, my fav tequila. Sebastian comes to my table to inform me that it is very expensive and blah blah blah. I don't need a lecture, just a drink so just bring it dude! This is how Sebastain became my tequila friend. :P I then moved on to something called the "Three Silver Tequilas Tasting" which is 1 shot of 3 different tequilas plus a shot of what they called sangria (bloody mary mix without the booze). This 3 shots of tequila and a shot of sangria becomes my standard drink. It costs around 2 bottles of water.

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
After a walk around Zona Rosa, we all headed back to hotel. I needed a drink so down to the bar we went. We go to elevator, door opens and a really hot man is standing inside. :sneaky: He looks a wee bit like Berryman, but much cuter. He says Hi, we say Hi and Kirsten and I both look at each other like we both know this guy from somewhere but can't quite put our finger on where. We all exit on ground floor, he leaves hotel, we go to bar. We sit there trying to think of who this man is when we both realize at same time it was Mat Whitecross! Kirsten says he's in Mexico to film Coldplay. Well if Mat is staying at Four Seasons, then Coldplay are most likely to be staying there as well. We'll find out the next day as that's when they are due to arrive. :whip:

Had a bit of a stroll around the neighborhood. The high altitude and pollution really did a number on my lungs. Sightseeing was cut short but we did see stuff near the hotel. The Diana Fountain El Angel Mini wanted to have a go at driving around them. Brave mini! There is a cute musical bench next to The Angel so we all had a rest there.

Kirsten had already arrived at the hotel and had checked into our room, 508. We had a lovely view of the courtyard and, this is most important, a full view of the bar/cafe and of whom ever might be down there dining. :sneaky: The area to the left with the umbrella is the bar/cafe. The area at the far end is the restaurant.

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
Arrived in Mexico City and grabbed a cab to the hotel. Now before I left friends at work told me about Mexico cabs. They all drive like psychos and you should just get in and close your eyes until you get to your destination. :laugh3: I decided to have a look around instead. I knew on the last tour the band had stayed at the Four Seasons and I was pretty sure they would stay there again. I arrived in one piece and asked the driver to pose with the mini. He didn't want to. I said if you want a tip, you'll pose with the car. He changed his mind.

Hey kids, who wants to hear my crazy stories about Mexico?
Right so a bit of backgroundness first. When the band announced the Latin American tour I was trying to decide which show to attend. When I started checking into flights and hotels I saw that I would have to enter Mexico through Mexico City so what the hey, might as well do all the Mexico shows. :P Thanks to some help from the lovely Pris, I was able to get tickets to all 4 Mexico shows for myself and Kirsten. Ian posted the story about Julie's daughter Ryan on the forum and I knew I just had to be a part of it. I contacted Julie, who I had met at the DC show and told her I really wanted the chance to get pics of the band with the Mini. She sent me the car and I started planning the best way to go about getting said pics. So Ryan's mini arrived in Texas and spent time hanging out with all my Coldplay stuff to help get the Karma flowing. I have a few Minis to help keep it company

Jackie told me something in Guaralajara: it was either "I have seen you for two years on this tour!" Or " it will be two years before I see you again on tour!" the crowd was too loud to tell which.

The show was good. The crowd didn't even begin to come close to the crowd in Guadalajara. There was some pushing at the begining of the show but it chilled out after the first couple of songs. Had a huge problem with the hotel/ cab. When I checked in I asked about arranging a car service to bring and pick me up after the show. Hotel said they would arrange a cab for this. I told them he needed to drop us off where he wanted to pick us up so we would know where to find him. They said no problem. After the show he didn't return. Called the hotel, they tell me he had no intention of returning because there was traffic! No really, duh! And he wouldn't send a car to get us! We didn't even know where the cabs were at this venue. We had to wonder around and then none would stop for us. Finally a nice couple who were not from Monterrey offered to share a cab with us. The guy got one to stop and I paid their fair otherwise I might still be out on the street right now. The guy said " that's how it is in Mexico" no that's just how it is in Monterrey because the other two cities were perfectly fine.

since they had a planned meet and greet with fans today they may have went down early but the crew usually does the sound check. Trust me they could play that set in their sleep, check is only needed for Dan to get the sound levels right.

That's when they come out. They don't spend a ton of time but they do sign and take pics. They aren't doing sound check.

They've been checking out from their hotel at around 2pm each day and always go out and sign stuff as they leave. However tomorrow they will be leaving for good so that time might change. So you might want to go early and wait. Good luck!

I have and should get a fourth tonight. I would prefer to send them out to countries the band has not toured. Ha in Guadalajara Jackie asked me how many LRLRL CDs do I have! :p
