Radiohead Live??
they don't normally pose for pictures with their instruments, i've only been able to find one picture of the whole band with their instruments: here are a couple more good quality pictures:

Radiohead Live??
crestingwaves, http://youtube.com/watch?v=2n_ljBBB3Kk (plus check out the related videos) ^^ it's just a youtube video, the quality of the picture and sound is crappy..of course it's no comparison to experiencing Radiohead live, but at least it gives you some sort of an idea... yeah, usually the arrangements are pretty close to the studio tracks, with a few exceptions, like Like Spinning Plates, Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box, etc yeah, totally.

Radiohead Live??
1. did you read what i said in my previous post? no, it would be inaccurate to summarize it as 3 guitars, drums and bass, because it all changes and switches around depending on a song. 2. yes, they reproduce the studio sound live brilliantly and so much so that many would say that they prefer the live performances to the studio tracks. it's certainly a different sort of thing live, more in-you-face, whereas the studio tracks often are more subtle. 3. you're very wrong about Thom Yorke, he's one of the most charismatic frontmen to ever grace a stage. he's absolutely mesmerizing to watch and listen to. and let's not forget the dancing!  combine that with Jonny Greenwood's spastic aggressive style of guitar playing, the band's overall skill, chemistry, near unparallelled musicality and the electrifying energy, and you've got yourself a killer of a show. 4. they seem to favour outdoor venues on this tour...outdoor stadiums and amphitheatres.

Radiohead Live??
Radiohead is a-a-a-mazing live. as for what instruments they play, they're all multi-instrumentalists and it all depends on a song...Thom usually plays the guitar or piano (upright or electric), but has played bass on at least one Radiohead studio track (that i'm aware of) - The National Anthem on Kid A, and he also plays drums live sometimes . Ed usually plays the guitar and makes all the cool weird ambient noises with his pedals galore...although i've seen him play a keyboard type of synth as well. Colin - normally bass, sometimes chips in on a synth/midi controller. Phil - drums, percussion, although he does play the guitar as well, but not in Radiohead. Jonny is the only member of Radiohead who got classical music training (on viola) and hence can read sheet music...in Radiohead he plays the guitar, piano, all sorts or synths, glockenspiel, ondes martenot, what have ya..give him any instrument, the chances are he can play it. he also does all the strings arrangements for Radiohead. also, Thom and Jonny do the electronica/computer programming.

VLVODAAHF VS In Rainbows
you didn't have to explain, really. either way, it's just your opinion, you're certainly entitled to it. i sensed a bit of hypocrisy behind your reasoning for picking Coldplay over Radiohead, that's all. i mean, Radiohead is repetitive and Coldplay isn't? come on now... no no, there's no pretentiousness in the lyrics, that's just the way he is, methinks. i like your analogy with the kids. but i think Radiohead is the kid who sits away from everyone else because he got bored of the games that everyone else is playing, not cause he thinks he's better. they've mentioned many a time in different interviews that they get bored very easily. i bet there's tons of great material in their vaults that never saw the light of day only cause they got bored of it prematurely. :(

VLVODAAHF VS In Rainbows
recycled and reused? is that supposed to be a compliment? i mean, coming from a coldplay fan and all...:P just kidding (sort of). well, my experience of Radiohead is completely different from yours: the more i listen, the more i get out of it. but to each their own. :) edit: i looked at your last.fm profile, and most of radiohead tracks have been played only once or twice, with the highest charting song having only 5 scrobbles. no, that's not what i'd call giving a band a fair chance :uhoh:

VLVODAAHF VS In Rainbows
little replay value? :stunned: seeing as vast majority of radiohead's fanbase are people who stick around for years and years and obsess over every little detail, etc....that speaks completely against your statement. House of Cards isn't meant to be a complex cerebral piece, it's just a relaxin' chill-out tune. 'tis all about the mood and sensation it creates. most of Radiohead's material is very meticulously crafted and "embellished" with all sorts of interesting details that sometimes become apparent only upon repeated listens. not to mention that they quite rarely use conventional song structures. the lyrics also are a food for thought, often profoundly philosophical, with layers of meaning, sometimes alluding to books, historical figures and events, etc. anyway, with all due respect, your opinion seems to be very biased, and i don't think you've given Radiohead a fair chance. :)

Radiohead
i've been listening to '8 Outtakes from Amnesiac' a lot recently. OMG, ssssssso good!! they should have released those as an EP...sadly it's just a promo CD, really hard to find a hard copy of it.

Radiohead
yep, i totally agree. thanks! for some reason i've never really been a big fan of High and Dry though. even before i found out that Thom Yorke doesn't like the song i had always used to skip it. i don't even know why...it's a good song, i love the lyrics, but the instrumentation just seemed kind of too poppish and sugary sweet to me. mind you, i don't skip it any more, and i really enjoy watching live performances of it on YouTube, but still it's not one of my favourite tracks on the album two tracks that have grown on me tremendously though are (Nice Dream) and Bones. wasn't a big fan of those at first, but now i love them. :)

VLVODAAHF VS In Rainbows
cause AtEase is a cruel and vicious place. ;) :laugh3: besides, just cause i love Radiohead more doesn't mean i don't like Coldplay, you know :p
-
Radiohead
nah, i think the general consensus is that Sulk is the weakest one on the album. also, High and Dry is a controversial one...people either love it or completely hate and despise it. :rolleyes3:

Radiohead

You must listen to this band... Narration
i found the material on their myspace very boring and uninspired, the songs are tedious, the sound is formulaic...perhaps this kind of music is just not my thing, but then...the band is unsigned (not on an independent label either), and frankly, i can see why. sorry. :uneasy:

Personality test.
same thing here Your Type is INFP Introverted - 100 Intuitive - 12 Feeling - 25 Perceiving - 39 Idealist Portrait of the Healer (INFP) Healers present a calm and serene face to the world, and can seem shy, even distant around others. But inside they're anything but serene, having a capacity for personal caring rarely found in the other types. Healers care deeply about the inner life of a few special persons, or about a favorite cause in the world at large. And their great passion is to heal the conflicts that trouble individuals, or that divide groups, and thus to bring wholeness, or health, to themselves, their loved ones, and their community. Healers have a profound sense of idealism that comes from a strong personal sense of right and wrong. They conceive of the world as an ethical, honorable place, full of wondrous possibilities and potential goods. In fact, to understand Healers, we must understand that their deep commitment to the positive and the good is almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. Set off from the rest of humanity by their privacy and scarcity (around one percent of the population), Healers can feel even more isolated in the purity of their idealism. Also, Healers might well feel a sense of separation because of their often misunderstood childhood. Healers live a fantasy-filled childhood-they are the prince or princess of fairy tales-an attitude which, sadly, is frowned upon, or even punished, by many parents. With parents who want them to get their head out of the clouds, Healers begin to believe they are bad to be so fanciful, so dreamy, and can come to see themselves as ugly ducklings. In truth, they are quite OK just as they are, only different from most others-swans reared in a family of ducks. At work, Healers are adaptable, welcome new ideas and new information, are patient with complicated situations, but impatient with routine details. Healers are keenly aware of people and their feelings, and relate well with most others. Because of their deep-seated reserve, however, they can work quite happily alone. When making decisions, Healers follow their heart not their head, which means they can make errors of fact, but seldom of feeling. They have a natural interest in scholarly activities and demonstrate, like the other Idealists, a remarkable facility with language. They have a gift for interpreting stories, as well as for creating them, and thus often write in lyric, poetic fashion. Frequently they hear a call to go forth into the world and help others, a call they seem ready to answer, even if they must sacrifice their own comfort. Princess Diana, Richard Gere, Audrey Hephurn, Albert Schweiter, George Orwell, Karen Armstrong, Aldous Huxley, Mia Farrow", and Isabel Meyers are examples of a Healer Idealists. http://www.keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=keirsey&f=fourtemps&tab=3&c=healer err... :uhoh:
