I *think* I remember seeing some of these quotes from Jonny's mom but can't recall ever seeing this picture of Jonny :stunned:  Coldplay’s Flintshire-born Jonny Buckland celebrates triple Grammy success Feb 13 2009 by George Tattum, Flintshire Chronicle Coldplay’s Flintshire-born Jonny Buckland celebrates triple Grammy success A FORMER Mold schoolboy who is now a member of the world’s top rock band has added three more glittering awards to his packed trophy cabinet. Coldplay scored an amazing hat-trick at the Grammies – the music world’s most coveted awards. They not only won the flagship song of the year prize for their track Viva La Vida, but also walked away with a performance award for the same song and best rock album. Lead guitarist Jonny Buckland’s mum Joy, who lives in the Mold area, watched a recording of the Los Angeles award ceremony. She described the band’s latest triumph as “amazing”. “Each member of the band receives a Grammy to keep,” revealed Joy. “I don’t know where Jonny will be putting his as he’s just moved into a new house in London.” Joy said Coldplay’s stature as the world’s top band had not changed Jonny. She said: “He’s still got his feet firmly on the ground and is exactly the same as he’s always been. “He copes with the pressures very well.” Joy and husband John, a former teacher at Holywell High School, recently attended a Coldplay gig at London’s O2 arena, and also visited their son’s new home. She said the band was currently on a world tour, with dates in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong lined up between now and October. Joy was delighted last November when Jonny’s daughter Violet was born – her first grandchild. Viva La Vida Or Death & All His Friends quickly became a multi-million seller, topping charts around the globe. Jonny was a pupil of Ysgol y Waun, Gwernaffield before attending Mold Alun High. Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
April 2, 2009 - submitted by Solvi, Iceland Q. Q. Dear Oracle. Lemon or honey in my tea ? The Oracle replies: Actually I put both in mine. Yum! April 2, 2009 - submitted by Jade, Australia Q. Hey I should probably be shot for asking this but why is Coldplay's 'pad' called 'The Bakery'? The Oracle replies: Bit harsh isn't it? The answer is as obvious as it may seem but I don't reckon anyone should be shot over it! The building used to be a bakery.
