  1. *lol* I know what u mean... I still can't believe he's younger than me! not that i'm old, or anything... :P
  2. I bought "The Scientist" dvd single in London and it plays in my iMac and my DVD player here in Canada. Woo hoo! This DVD single has the video reversed version, that is, the way it was recorded. Because the video is played backwards they filmed it moving forwards but with the music reversed. Think about it this way; the end of the video and song is the beginning of the "film footage", so the end of the song/video is the beginning of the "film footage". Did I confuse ya? :smug: FYI, here's the tracklisting for the DVD single: 01 The Scientist (Edit - video) 02 The Scientist (Edit - video reversed) 03 Lips Like Sugar (Live in Paris, summer 2002) + Photo Gallery 04 Interview (about 4 or 5 minutes long)
  3. LiquidSky, Mine is still "on order" from a&b sound...hasn't come in yet. But I've asked my bro in Toronto to look out for it. Have ANY Canadian fans gotten the Ltd Ed.? It's been nearly 1 month since the Nov 11th release.
  4. Coldplay have 2 nominations: -->Record of the Year: Clocks and..... -->Best Short Form Music Video (For an individual track or single promotional clip. Award to the Artist and to the Video Director/Producer.) The Scientist Coldplay Jamie Thraves, video director; Sally Llewellyn, video producer other nominees in this category: "Hurt" Johnny Cash "Die Another Day" Madonna "Concrete Angel" Martina McBride "Hey Ya!" Outkast and FYI: the 46th Grammy's "honor" recordings released October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003.
  5. spin.com is now updated (w/ Chris's front cover photo). and here's the article... http://www.spin.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=227 i'll go lookin' for it tomorrow!
  6. yeah, but the ama's are pretty much shite, nowadays. i'm not sure if it would've been a compliment had they won! :/
  7. check out ateaseweb.com's review and setlist of the 13.11.03 Berlin concert: http://www.ateaseweb.com/live/2003/20031113.php and i don't find their music depressing, but many people do...perhpas cuz it's not "music out of a can" and not every song is "mainstream radio friendly". it's got some great grooves and bass lines...i think it's great music when ya wanna chill out, ya know? oh, and my fave song is Talk Show Host (hence the nic!); now that's got a great bass line and sultry keyboards. I think it's they're sexiest song! and sexiness is def. not depressing! :P
  8. Thanks for your opinion and clearing things up, Ian! I've been lookng for a 'black-and-white" lowdown on this Limited Edition business. If it's not too much more $, I'll probably get it...being a bit of a perfectionist and collector, and all! :)
  9. there's a pic of someone's Ltd. Edition dvd in this thread: http://forum.coldplaying.com/viewtopic.php?t=6626&start=0 I'm still (patiently) waiting for mine. The HMV here said the Ltd Ed hasn't come back yet. Also, this from coldplay.com : "The DVD also features a 40 minute Tour Diary documentary, containing intimate behind the scenes footage filmed at various locations around the world (including Los Angeles, Denver, Madrid & London) over the last year. Completing the package is a 12 track live CD album of the concert with Rom section (links and photogallery); -->the limited edition special pack also includes exclusive content - Grammys footage, Fair Play acoustic concert footage (with appearances from Ms Dynamite and Noel Gallagher) as well as artwork gallery, screensavers and other extras. The DVD is available on two formats, A limited edition special pack and a standard double disc pack made of 100% recycleable packaging. "
  10. one more thing; is 2+2=5 on the single the same as on HTTT? I heard it this week on radio1 and it sounded kinda diff. or r u still waiting to buy it? doesn't it release this coming week in Europe?
  11. merci! danke! this way i know what people are referring to when they all start talking about this sucks, that rocks, etc on places like here and at ease! and, for the record, i will buy this single (or maybe get it for Christmas) when it makes the long trip over the pond to Canada.
  12. Hey, EdwardFan, I noticed that too when I saw the DVD. It was like, um, aren't we missing something? I think it's kinda weird to have a ghost acoustic guitar player. (is he/she really that hideous or scared of the fame? :P j/k ) Although Chris jumping around is definitely entertaining!
  13. i'll race ya to a & b, mousewings! :P
  14. dankeschoen! thank you!
  15. just found the answer to my own question re: Chris and chocolate. at the end of In My Place he says "Please look at maketradefair.com and please eat more chocolate and please listen to more Coldplay." sounds good to me! :-)
  16. oops...scatterbrain-me forgot to mention the November issue of "Famous" (the magazine handed out at Famous Players Theatres in Canada) has a nice full-page ad of the Coldplay Live DVD launch show (ie the one on Nov 10th).. excellent shot of the band, however I'm not sure how to post it here (anyone? anyone? bueller?), so follow this link to get an idea of it (as long as the link is still up). http://www.famousplayers.com/movies/movie_information.asp?movie=E8AFD3BF-5FAD-4266-A3B9-090000166461
  17. mmm...chocolate... I bought some rather inexpensive fair-trade chocolate last winter in Scotland (at the Co-op) and it was really good!! I luuuv dark chocolate! hey...what is it that Chris says about chocolate on the dvd (the one which I have yet to buy!)? and as for the fair trade ring and hemp lip balm, I think that's great! I mean, ideally everything which we consumers buy ought to be fair trade, right? After all, fair trade principles are about sustainable development, getting paid fair wages, and reinvesting in communities. Rock on, fair trade! :D
  18. oh, one more thing.. i thought the bass (ie Guy!) sounded fantastic! I'll have to try that out on my stereo when I finally get the DVD. I also thought that they didn't show enough of Guy during the concert. Obviously the majority of shots were on Chris (no complaints here!), then came Jonny and a bit of Will but hardly any Guy! Oh, and I liked how in the documentary they interspersed Guy's recitation of all the different countries they've been to on this tour...although I don't recall hearing him mention Canada...
  19. I saw the "premiere" at the movie theatre last night...brilliant, imho. After the show, hmv was selling the dvd and I asked if they had the Special Ed. and the girl said the EMI rep told them they shipped the PAL version instead of NTSC (for Canada and US) and so we'd have to wait 'til the NTSC version got shipped (for which she gave no anticipated time-line)! I'm assuming this is a Canada-wide "crisis" :-P . Anyone in Canada succeed in buying the Special Ed ?
  20. I really enjoyed it! I loved the big sound...loved all the different camera angles which made it rather fast paced...perhaps trying to capture some of the excitement of a live performance. Here, in Winnipeg, they showed most of the "documentary" part and then finally after all that suspense came the concert from Sydney. I think the director did a good job... it was stylized (switching from grayscale to colour to red to colour, ...). I didn't think it was boring and didn't lose interest (which is what I was afraid of!). After the show, hmv was selling the DVD for $20, taxes in! Not bad at all!
  21. I'm going, too!! Bought my tix this PM...looking forward to reliving the vancouver show...to a certain extent! :-)
