  1. ^does that mean you are going to explode with excitement, or you want me to swallow a hand grenade and die?
  2. thats actually a good point. a quick google search reveals the oc episode first aired on may 12, 05 and the album was released on june 1.. so it was essentially released via the oc.. thanks for reminding me about that too.. it was while watching that oc episode (upon hearing fix you) that my love for coldplay began...
  3. what are you his mum? if so, sorry mrs locust. didn't mean to upset you.
  4. as idealistic as that sounds, there may be some merit in this theory.. why would they close the competition when they're not announcing winners for another 2 weeks? hopefully we have just filled the stadium and they don't need anymore people to enter the "competition". anyone else slightly aroused by that idea... down tiger;)
  5. hahaha locust, at least if you won't reveal your identity, do you know anything about the non-album songs and how/when we are going to get them?
  6. i didn't listen to all of it, but from what you're all saying, i'm guessing this isn't the acoustic version of LOJ either, is it?
  7. thanks for that! that's hilarious... "he's a f**king genius..."
  8. be careful what we wish for huh... here we were complaining that they didn't release another song this week, and now we may have just heard a 5th song off the album (^and in this less than desirable way)... that may not amount to half of the 42 mins, but it's half the songs by title from the album.
  9. this might be a stupid question, but is that supposed to be a different song to DAAHF or just a typo?
  10. ^probably not. site wouldn't load for me before.. had to refresh it a few times, but nothing changed.
  11. yeh pretty freakin disappointing... i was certain that big left hand video was gonna be LIT and i'd finally get to watch the video sitting on my hard drive.. why did it have to be a a bigger box?
  12. that's awsome.
  13. yeh the costumes and the big drum look verrrry similar to the violet hill video... probably recorded all at the same time..
  14. i don't think it was in contemplation when the question was posed, but why not hey? thanks for embracing this thread girls and guys... just as i thought, there's nothing predictable about coldplay fans. seems like the only description that aptly encompasses all of us (as you've read a million times before) is that: "Coldplay is for people with great taste, intelligence, incredible good lookingness, talent, ability, success, grabbing of life. Coldplay's for people who know what life's about. They're always entertaining. Delightful to talk to. Sweet, charming, incredibly good in bed. Virile. They have incredible success with girls, or boys, or both. They're generally just the world's best citizens." my profile: 21, male, from Sydney, both parents Italian, 5"7', play(ed) soccer, i think alessandra ambrosio is the most beautiful woman in the world, i'm at uni studying law and commerce (graduating next week from commerce!), i'm planning on entering the corporate finance field post-graduation. i'm also a dj.. i play mainly house music, but when i'm at home i pretty much listen to nothing but british music.... Coldplay (most of the time), the killers, kooks, arctic monkeys. while there's a lot of great music out there, i honestly believe that Coldplay are the best band in the world, and it's good to know that so many of us - despite our differences - have this in common.
  15. that's the best theory i've heard to date. i was thinking about this too today, and this whole "big global reach" thing has got me scratching my head.. to live up to the hype it's (intentionally) created, it would have to be something that big. even a double cd released in the same form everywhere couldn't be realistically described as having a "big global reach", any more than a single disc album would have. might also explain why the label is allowing them to be so generous in giving away songs, since they'll probably make up for sales by fans purchasing multiple albums.. of course, it's just a theory. then again, we were told a few weeks back that we were going to hear "the best coldplay news of the year" and i'm pretty sure that news was "not the best" since i can't even remember what it was...
  16. I've been thinking about starting this thread for a little while, so since i'm trying to make time pass faster in order to get to wednesday's news quicker, and trying to avoid doing a uni assignment, i thought this might be a good time to bring this up... I recently read an article which listed a whole bunch of singers/actors that are CP fans, and for some unidentifiable reason i was interested to know that those "type" of people like the band too. And it got me thinking... its often easy to associate certain bands/singers or music genres with certain "types" of people (whether categorised by age, occupation, nationality, etc), but i wonder how much diversity there is in the CP fanbase... its obvious what countries you're all from, but i'm interested to know what CP fans to for a living (i'm assuming you all have jobs/study and don't just spend all day on this forum)..
  17. You know ... when.. you have not yet found someone you want to marry, and have no intention of kicking the bucket any time soon, yet you're already devising a plan to have Coldplay play (live) swallowed in the sea at your wedding (for your bridal waltz), and fix you at your funeral (as you're being carried out in a casket)... just realised, isn't it great how they are equally as relevant and important at both the happiest and saddest moments of your life...
  18. hope its famous old painters
  19. ^does look like the end of square one @ toronto
  20. mmm i'm pretty sure that toronto acoustic video's been around for a little while... i watched it in the coldplaying multimedia section last week..
  21. i've heard a few rnb/rappers using coldplay's music in one form or another... e.g. theres a remix of 2pac's 'Can you get away' which is just him rapping over 'in my place'... brandy's 'i tried' takes a few lines out of 'sparks' and even mentions coldplay. sure it's shit that they are ruining coldplay's music, but it's gotta be the highest compliment when you are unashamedly copying some else's music for the world to hear. plus, chris always says he's a plagiarist, so why shouldn't anyone plagiarise coldplay :P
  22. i love it when we get these little song synopsis reviews... pumps us up even more than usual. at the risk of sounding a little slow, it's just starting to click in my head about what they meant when they said the first three albums would be a trilogy from which they want to move on... sounds like they are breaking every rule possible to avoid being predictable. i never thought they'd go as far as a didgeridoo, but i trust their judgment... admittedly though strawberring swing is still the song i'm least looking forward to (which probably means i'll like it the most since my expectations will be easiest to exceed). but 42.... every description of that song excites me more and more... now it nods to Lennon's Imagine!! WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? I don't know but i reeeeally like the sound of it.
  23. oops double posted.. so i might aswell use this one to say that life would have alot less passion in it without coldplay
  24. better not let texas see this thread LOL... i'm pretty sure we already have one of these
