  1. I can’t imagine the rest of the album disappointing so for me could easily get to the top and beat VLV but we’ll see. If not probably 2nd to VLV... these songs are each so unique and yet share this production quality I’m really digging... I’m beyond excited to hear this album entirely over and over
  2. Also Guy’s baselines so far are all so interesting, def liking that without the super crazy productions they’ve been going for his bass is getting more center stage!
  3. I'm just proud of guessing Wills drums would be minimal... Bet it's the same for all the new songs.
  4. Wasn’t Chris going to be on Capital fm? *update: nvm found it just no one said anything here lol.
  5. Was just looking at the new pics that we’ve seen of the band and the orphans video, and noticed Wills drum kit is simpler than a full drum kit, even on the video where he is playing drums... and arabesque doesn’t have much drum work per say, except the outro has a lot of crashes going on. But could it be all songs on the new album have minimalistic drums (excluding extra percussions). Or maybe more of a percussion driven album but not necessarily a traditional full drum kit? What do you think?
  6. Hmmmm “bring that church feel”. I’m guessing he helped with the album opener, “Sunrise”, maybe “Church” and not sure what the last would be. Had never heard of him before either...
  7. This is what I was thinking too, would be so damn cool if they brought in extra musicians for Arabesque, ah it's soo soo soo exciting to see them perform new songs for the first time! I'm sure a new song will be out by then too. Looking forward to the performances and the future interviews. Does anyone have the Zane Lowe interview btw?
  8. BTW is someone recording the Zane Lowe interview today? I don't have Apple Music.
  9. Oh wow, 8-9 short sessions? For a whole album!? This is a gem of knowledge, I cant wait for the interviews!!! Guess it took them 4 years to work out the songs but not that long to record them, I'm sure they mighta gone back to add things to the songs here and there, but it demystifies the process and at the same time surprises me that they recorded it so fast.
  10. Ah, thanks! What else did he say, did someone take note of his answers or someone recorded it?
  11. Why is there only one screen shot of what will said? And what was the question he answered?
  12. Hah, that's what I was saying earlier! :P
  13. Guess I'm most curious about "sunrise" and "eko". I've heard "Orphans" and "Arabesque" none stop today. They truly are magical, Orphans actually gives me chills, and I can't ask for anything more, it's such a bittersweet/melancholic song. The production is so cool/clever/refreshing to me too, from the "boom boom ka" to the percussion, to the chant on the chorus... So so so uplifting. And Arabesque is such a different beast from everything they have done in the past, these 2 songs represent everything I wanted Coldplay to do after Viva. If the album is along the same vein, it will be on top contesting Viva probably. Can't wait to hear them live.
  14. Agreed, the first melodic line Chris sings gave me uber U2 vibes too.. Orphans lyrics are so damn dark. I'm loving these songs, they sound nothing like what I was expecting, and thats what took me back for a bit. Coldplay at its most experimental, but not in a pure modern way, to date!
  15. Guys part on Orphans is definitely driving that song more than anything else. I'd say the Brass section (whoever they are) are the real stars of Arabesque tbh. Arabesque gives me National Anthem vibes at the end.
  16. People say Arabesque is Guys song, but he does way more on Orphans and I loooove it! Arabesque sounds exactly like what the poster looks like. Coldplay plus blues/jazz musicians. The ending of Arabesque is very Radiohead, my fav part of the song tbh.
  17. I do like this one a lot! And I guess Arabesque is the lead single. Weird name for a lead single haha.
  18. Had seen this, is it crazy to think they had this planned from such a long time ago? This is such a cool find. Maybe the reference to "Old" and the black and white videos just means they took an old UNRELEASED song from each era and reworked it?
  19. OMG, Im beyond excited to hear this album now! So so so refreshing and still catchy!
  20. This is the only way I’d like the band to use old songs. I want new songs, not reworks...
  21. Or maybe (sadly) 4 of the songs will be short transitional songs... like MMIX or A Hopeful Transmission, so they aren't including them in videos..? Guess we'll find out when the official track-listing is out with the song times listed.
  22. Part of me still hopes that isn’t the cover... just cause I’ve liked the usual center piece as part of their era theme... but i mostly think it is the real one
  23. Also, could it be possible, the guys are actually using the instruments on the picture on a song? Or that they left drums piano and sax to others while they play different instruments? Hmmm
  24. Cross your fingers half of these songs are not just transition songs like MMIX or A Hopeful Transmission. Or it’ll be almost the same length of MX and not really a true double album. There’s only 8 songs on each side (going by leaked track list), so just 2 more songs than MX had.
  25. Does she always interview the artist who’s music she premieres?
