  1. That's true, but you know some have been a little disappointed with the latest releases (me, not fully, but don't think they've been their best)... All I hope is that they stray away from pop, jusssst a little at least, and get more intricate and give us more songs like Square One, Up With the Birds, 42.. songs that really showcase a different side of theirs and what they are capable of on the edges of pop.
  2. Im kind of sad about the EP because after the EP we probably won't hear anything new from the boys for a long time.. and probably a very long time... not only do they take forever in the studio but this time with the extended touring, I'm pretty sure they will take a long break too.. This EP better kick butt.
  3. Interesting statement, wish it was an entire album now :p. But I guess 5 songs will do for now...
  4. Ok this song def has some experimenting going on it! I was hoping it would have a big change half way in and it did!
  5. I must say I miss Coldplay being more creative with their music... As much as some dislike Eno's influence in the band, I feel like he pushed them more than anyone has, and therefore they ended with some of the most interesting results. Creative and complex songs that were still catchy, but lately it just seems like their new songs are predictable and not pushing forward anymore. I wish they didn't shy away from sharing songs that they think are too out there and therefore leave out of albums/EPs.. What I admired most from them was how on Viva they had singles and great album tracks, but now it's like every song is treated like a single. Least that's how I feel about them these days.
  6. Haha, I actually enjoyed the album. It is a good pop album imo.. Surprisingly super pop considering their past work, I expected some throwbacks in there but there's none.
  7. Clearly you and me disagree lol.
  8. It's ok, I just can't get over the twangy country guitars in the background.. If it wasn't for that I'd love it cause in the beginning I heard it being almost Sigur Ros-like, but then those guitars came in and changed the feel entirely..
  9. I'm most disappointed with Miracles 2, especially if it's the same song, in another version, as if the guys don't have enough new music to share... Sooo hoping it is a completely new Miracles instead..
  10. Told you guys Something Just Like This would be on the EP, called it!!!!
  11. True, I tested them on my music program, by a slight 2. Original is about 110, Osaka is 112.. but who would really notice that lol
  12. What other differences are there? Guess they didn't seem as obvious to me..
  13. Well, I didn't mean it as in it's gonna be the main single off Kaleidoscope, but going by what they've done before (including Lovers in Japan (osaka mix which only has an extra "ooh") or Lost+ which featured Jay Z, I kind of expect it to take a slot in it.. no?
  14. My guess is that the new Chainsmokers song is gonna be in the EP.. Not bad considering it is a Chainsmokers song first, featuring Coldplay... but not exactly what I'd like their other Kaleidoscope songs to sound like.
  15. Yeah seriously, I was like "wait, Coldplay? But it's only Chris!?" ... Then 3/4ths there, the band actually participates haha.
  16. Uhmm yeah Coldplay ain't gonna sound like that... Closest they were to that was AROBTTH, and drifting further and further away from it since. I think we gotta be realistic and expect more of the same AHFOD sorta songs for this EP, and for Coldplay to never abandon their pop sound. As much as I wish they returned to more Viva-like songs, they already did Viva, and the band moves on after every era (though big picture, you can see it all becoming more and more pop album to album). The band too, has admitted countless times that they were in a great place with AHFOD so why would we expect something different right now?
  17. I really miss the blogs from 42, that's what I miss the most during the wait times.. It's like they only update us when they want to promote something, nothing else.
  18. I'm sure the EP is ready or almost ready and no protest songs were made lol.
  19. My own newest song :P, it's a chill, electro bouncy beat..
  20. Must agree, at the time of that preview the song and the art made more sense and promised a different world than the one they gave us. And I specifically remember the comment about the album possibly being their Sargent Pepper, cause it got me so hyped up, but it was nothing close to that. So I'm just expecting the EP to sound like an extension of AHFOD not a new direction.. Until the next era.. and I hope they do go in a new direction then, towards a Sg Pepperesc thing. Just want the band to get back into some more experimental stuff, keep the hooks, keep the singles, but don't make every song in an album a semi-single-like song.
  21. Was just wondering if anyone knows how one could become a Coldplay roadie? I can't seem to find anything on the web...
  22. Yeah that was quite emotional, what a set they put together, mistakes and mishaps and all, just full of amazing moments.
  23. But sadly stream isn't working for me.. Seems I'll have to wait to re-watch an upload :(
  24. I only hope they play birds and not Princess of China
  25. The mix in this stream is amazing! J's guitars are quite upfront and I like that. Too bad they won't be playing Birds, or most of the non radio tracks during their set, oh wells.
